1. i leave the hall if i haredi soldier walks in
Reserve officer ,   ISR   (11.08.12)
Fair enough as they offend my religious principles
2. Enemy will sing at war and these soldiers will capitulate.
Michael ,   California, USA   (11.08.12)
Can you imagine those yoyos facing females on the enemy side singing during a war? I think Haredim should be given basic training on a par with everybody else, and be trained in listening to women voices, including singing. What kind of a military will IDF become with different kind of soldiers serving? Imagine the complexity of issuing a command as to which soldiers to send to which mission, "sug aleph" or "sug beit."

You are obviously not in military intelligence.
4. How is this a story?
Moshe ,   New York, NY   (11.08.12)
Wow, slow news day huh? The political correct police are really our in force now. Jeez, how intensely does the media hate and demonize Haredim to waste time righting an article about an offhanded silly pun. Honestly, who cares
5. Is this new worthy of reporting?
Maurice ,   Montreal   (11.08.12)
What's going on YNET? There way more important events to report on...
6. OMG, will you people grow up!!!
Sarah ,   Israel   (11.08.12)
Enough stupidity already.
7. Another doofus rabbi. So what else is new?
SG ,   Teaneck   (11.08.12)
8. What a small world, I just made the same joke today
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.08.12)
Only I told a couple of girls that I used to be a woman before I had my sex-change operation and they thought it was funny. The difference is, the only ones who care what I say is the Ynet censors who have a nasty habit of rejecting some of my more radical (or so they think) comments. But hey, all in all, they don't do a bad job.
9. #8 noodle, They have improved, I agree.
Michael ,   California, USA   (11.08.12)
Ynet would censor me a lot on religion. I mellowed my comments linguistically and see less rejections from the censor. Du-kiyum b'shalom without occupying any territories makes a lot of sense.
10. Singing
Albi ,   Ashkelon   (11.08.12)
They respect women therefore they won't listen to them singing. Great! I respect haredim so I won't listen to their lectures, their propaganda or their voodoo directives and spur of the moment laws.
11. to # 1
charles   (11.08.12)
I guess you don't want the haredi to participate in the idf. you prefer to do all the work & let them sit in yeshiva.
12. and in other news...
andy ,   tlv, israel   (11.08.12)
- obama was reelected - more bad weather hitting US
13. mountain from mole hill
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (11.08.12)
Jokes are jokes, if some people are offended, well, we all have weak spots, so learn to chin up and not have sex changes.
14. this is Israel, we are liberal
ma nishma ,   modiin   (11.08.12)
If you don't want to listen to a women singing, since it is not part of the army service, just a program, so what? Leave! It is the idiots who believe that it is important for religious soldiers to hear women sing are ruining a good thing. They must learn to be liberal in judgment.
15. ynet looking for stories where they don't exist
gilad ,   jerusalem   (11.08.12)
why is this a story? because he told a joke that many comedians have used before (but that wasn't an issue because they were secular?)
16. Idf
Sam ,   Berchem   (11.08.12)
Why to force ten to Listen to solders singing We're is freedom of religion ??
17. #3
DavidR ,   USA   (11.08.12)
Military intelligence is an oxymoron.
18. #2: stupid or pretending
Ephraim ,   Tapuah   (11.08.12)
Do you really not understand the difference between the battlefield, and army base? Obviously soldiers won't run away if women are singing among live fire, but if the army is forcing men to listen to women singing, then it shows that it has no respect for religion and is not a place for religious people to enlist in.
19. Sometimes a joke is just a joke and not an attack.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.08.12)
20. I have a solution...
Malone ,   Hfx   (11.08.12)
...Just ban religion completely... If people feel the need to worship some unknown, unseen, unproven deity, then let them..how thinking people can believe this nonsense is beyond me.. religion is the cause of ALL the wars and All the problems
21. double standerd
Logic ,   jerusalem   (11.08.12)
They want Chareidim to leave Yeshiva and say "dont worry we wont make you do anything against your beleife we just want equal service to all" "but you must listen to to women singing" and as number 14 said be more libral in judgment (in other words go against your beliefs) so what we end up seing is the draft of chareidim has zero to do with equality and just about making chareidim into modern seculars
22. Women singing...
Abie Dee ,   New York, US   (11.08.12)
If i remember correctly, didn't Moses' sister Miriam sing before the Red Sea parted for the Jews to escape to their freedom. I don't recall any men jumping into the waters to flee her voice. If you truly respect women, then you listen to them sing...walking out is embarrassing and according to the rabbis, that too is a big no-no.
