PALS. Well, Bibi, maybe we will and maybe it is price tag time American style. After all you did gamble now didn't you? Good luck during the next four years.
4. End all support for terrorist P.A.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
The time is long overdue to deal with Holocaust denying terrorist Abbas as the mortal enemy he is. End all support for the P.A. Israel has nothing to talk to the P.A. about, except the terms for permanent "Palestinian" departure from our land.
5. Abbas wants 1967 borders+right of return into Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (11.13.12)
Nothing new. It's the Palestinian politically correct way of saying they want the West Bank and all of Israel. The response that bothers Palestinians more than anything else is doing to them what they want to do to Israeli Jews. Jews should settle the West Bank and Israel proper first and stop being so apologetic about it.
6. Abbas Is Backwards
emanon ,   USA   (11.13.12)
Not that that is unusual. No country = No UN Status. It is that simple.
7. #1 this is not a question of logic,
Mira ,   Vienna   (11.13.12)
but of antisemitism within the UN. He will succeed, but that will not help him, instead he will get himself and UN into the biggest mess ever!
8. #2 there are no 67 borders,
Mira ,   Vienna   (11.13.12)
there a re only provisional lines, not more, which ahve to be negotiated. The moment UN agrees it will be against some of their own resolutions.
9. NOT ANOTHER DIME FROM THE USA.

Hope this makes Abbas happy and broke. Nothing like trying to run a ghost 'nation' LOL that doesn't exist without money.

And just how do you propose to do that? Planning to go to war against Israel? Remember just how well you did against Viet Nam? Somalia? Afghanistan? Iraq? Don't you realize that the State of Israel is very different from the afore-mentioned countries? The U.S. does fine against banana republics such as Grenada and Panama. How do you think you would fare against Israel? A country with arguably the best military, pound for pound, in the world? You are such a fool, you are letting your emotions (sick and perverted as they are -- supporting a terrorist rabble is, after all, quiet depraved) cloud your judgment. Just keeping reciting the following mantra: "Somalia .... Somalia ... Somalia." Maybe reason and reality will overcome your diseased soul.

You can keep your veto. Israel will not be held hostage by an inept American "president" with a clearly Islamist agenda. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it, except watch Israel annex Judea and Samaria, take back Gaza and the Sinai, put down rabid dog Iran and clean out the terrorist rabble in Southern Lebanon. Think we can't? Think again. We're under no obligation to restrict ourselves to conventional weapons. Price tag, Israeli style.
13. Abbas has won this round
zionist forever   (11.13.12)
Upgrading the status of the PA in the UN increases their legitimacy and allows them to join UN groups that under their current status they cannot. Abbas who is the one who spent four years making excuses to avoid talks is being very clever in saying day after the UN upgrades the PA status in the UN because the UN members who haven't decided which way to vote yet will hear well if we vote in favour of the PA then talks will start immediately. Sadly the PA will get their upgrade by a large margin and its going to turn the situation from bad to worse with the PA chasing Israel in the UN over everything and it will strengthen their hand if there are talks so rather than increase likelihood of doing a deal its going to make it harder. Abbas also knows neither the US or Israel will follow through with their promises to cut money given to the PA because all he needs to do is the usual trick of I have no money to pay the security forces to keep order so Hamas might take over. Overnight all wil be forgiven and the money will start flowing again especially with Obama in the White House for another four years looking to earn his nobel prize.
14. A good chess move
r cummings ,   uk   (11.13.12)
It will end once and for all Israel's spurious, fake claim that the West Bank is 'disputed' territory. If there's a recognised state on it, it can't be 'disputed' in international law. Having thus established beyond doubt that Israel is a belligerent occupier, the door is open to take action against it for its many breaches of law as an occupier. What's not to like? You didn't think Israel would get away with its colonial land-theft for ever, did you? The day of reckoning is nigh.

Chopper4 ,   CPT, South Africa   (11.13.12)
is good for the gander. Who has better lawyers? The bankrupt PA or Israel? You do realise that for every charge they bring to the UN. Israel will also be able to bring to the UN. As for the borders and mutally agreed upon land swaps. They can not be finalised by a vote of UN members. So the fact that they want a country in West Bank, Gaza and E JRS does not make the whole territory theirs. They will still be in the same situation they are currently in. I doubt this vote will change anything. The ICC at the Hague will have no authority to demarcate a sovereign country's borders either. Carry on living in your Jew hate dream world. The Palestinians can try use as many UN bodies as possible and can cry until they are blue in the face, however it will still mean nothing. Recognition at the UN has no jurisdiction in land disputes. All they can do is mediate. However lets wait and see what happens

It would be quite a hollow victory if Israel's response would be to annex Judea and Samaria. Upon such annexation, all those Jordanian citizens that currently illegally squat in Judea and Samaria were to be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship.
17. #2 the problem
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.13.12)
The problem is our leaders. Netanyahu should fire Barak, stop IDF defense of Abbas and prevent him from leaving Israel. Hamas will string the POS up, In the words of Rabin, no Bagatz and no Betzelem.

The arabs are not Jiordanian citizens and that is the problem. They are not members of any country and we cannot force Jordan to give them citizenship anymore than we can force the US to give them citizenship. If we annex Judea & Samaria then we are going to have to give those millions of arabs Israeli citizenship. Leave things as they are the arabs can't demand citizenship. What might be a game changer is if the Heshimite monarchy is toppled in Jordan because 80% of the population there define themselves as palestinians. If they were to form a government then it would be hard for Jordan to say its not a palestinian state. Give Jordan / Palestine a big financial pay off and a percentage of Judea & Samaria as a prize Israel legally annexes the rest and the residents are given Jordanian citizenship by default and they are allowed to remain in what will internationally recognised as part of Israel but as Jordanians so having no rights just their homes. Whatever happens we must resist the temptation to annex Judea & samaria because that small plot of land will cost us a country. The arabs are playing smart politics now we must do the same, no more emotional politics which just ends up playing into arab hands.

Oh, but you are wrong. Jordan's Citizenship Law of 1954 conferred Jordanian citizenship to all West Bank Arabs AND THEIR PROGENY irrevocably. Jordan has tried on any number of occasions to rescind that law, but the court in The Hague has ruled that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- IRREVOCABLE. When West Bank Arabs travel, they do so on Jordanian passports and travel documents. How many governments can you name that issue passports to non-citizens?
20. Thanks Sarah B nice to know.

Send the Jordanians back to Jordan immediately. Israel is for Jews.

How can the UN GA seriously consider a Palestinian terrorist entity and terrorist government in Gaza for non member state status . Such a move would lead to further conflict and no peace ever!

During the 1967 Israel-Arab War, the people on the WB fled to Jordan. Israel already owns by victory at war (that they did not initiate), the WB. The WB belongs to the State of Israel. The districts of Judea and Samaria are already legal property of the State of Israel. The arabs of the WB must begin paying taxes to the State of Israel, if they want to remain in the WB.
