1. Respect our borders and we'll respect yours
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (11.13.12)
The last thing Israel wants is conflict in another region - but we deserve the right to protect ourselves.
2. Nothing in this article makes any sense
glenn tamir ,   shorashim, Israel   (11.13.12)
How does Israel hitting a Syrian Army artillery show Israel supports Assad? What's happening here is that nobody wants to take responsibility for the current situation in Syria so they are looking to blame Israel. Nice try UN, EU, Russia, USA, IRAN - it won't work.
3. Israel should have an interest
Nora Tel Aviv   (11.13.12)
An Islamist Syria is worse for Israel than the present regime. But the world will not be on Israel`s side when the time comes. The end result could be a long lasting armed conflict betwen Israel and the Islamic Syria over the Golan.
4. WHY SHOULD THE ANTI-ASAD RABBLES BE SUPPORTED?
stude ham   (11.13.12)
they're disorganized, murderous, and clearly anything but knowledgeable on such things as democracy and human rights. these anti-asad forces are vultures hoping to feed on the carcasses of the gullible. we do not need yet another form of the virulent theocracy of iran, or hezbollah, or hamas, or the pa, on our tails. very sadly, and in view of the alternatives, asad is the best option for syria.
5. the syrians will decide if Israel gets involved
zionist forever   (11.13.12)
Don't fire into Israel and we will leave you to kill each other with our blessings. If you do fire into Israel well no matter which side it serves we will get involved to protect our people. Now more than ever we must not give up the Golan for a treaty we don't need other than for image purposes. We must resist the pressure which eventually will undoubtedly come from Obama looking for a legacy, Europe and Israel's peacenicks. We will be told to strengthen the new ' moderate ' regime just like we have done for Fatah time and time again and got zilch in return. We must not make the same mistake with Syria.
6. Golan
Good stuff ! ,   Israel   (11.13.12)
Keep your head high and covered !
7. What Rebels?
Haider ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (11.13.12)
Quit supporting these so called Rebels. They have caused adr are still causing more harm than the dictators they were fighting.
8. #2 Don't be ridiculous...
esse ,   --   (11.13.12)
...the article is about the words of ONE rebel leader. It is he who is blaming Israel, not the "UN, EU, Russia, USA..." We have enough enemies without people like you with persecution complexes posting ignorant exaggerations about how the world is out to get us. Stop making us look stupid and paranoid. We're supposed to be brave and smart, remember? That's the generalization we're attempting to get the world to believe....
9. Yes it makes some sense, #2
Ibrahim Sued ,   Rio de Janeiro   (11.13.12)
While hitting Assad forces Israel could be reinforcing him in face of his people. What didn't make any sense to me was "what Assad did on the quiet Golan for four decades is exactly what Iraq's Sadam Hussein did when he fired Scud missiles at Israel in order to drag it into a conflict." Could anyone try to explain it to me?
10. What on earth?
Jonathan Klineberg ,   Portreath   (11.13.12)
Either the person writing this article has seriously misunderstood what she's heard and/or read OR Israel is rightly getting blamed by the Arabs for starting this conflict in Syria. I believe the latter. The Zionist entity is a proven trouble maker, just last week my mother was struggling to hail a taxi in London and, as usual, it was the fault of the Jews who were clearly seen to be occupying all available black cabs on the North Bank.
11. This article
NIgel ,   London   (11.13.12)
the rationale behind this argument is absurd. Israel did not stand by and allow tanks into the demilitarised zone. It made a formal complaint to the UN. when the first missile landed, it did the same again. Only thereafter did it fire back. Israel has shown restraint, I believe, because it does not want to be used by Assad and his barbaric army to garner support from other regimes and terrorist groups, While much of the western world awaits the day that Assad is toppled, my concern is for what is to follow. Sadly, recent history shows that, getting rid of a dictator in the middle east seems to bring in readical Islamic leadership and not moderation. Judging by this one persons's comments,. I worry for the future. And to remind you all, Israel offered medical aid at the start of this conflict but its offer was rebuffed.
12. These people are quite simply MAD!!!!
Brett Levitas ,   JHB South Africa   (11.13.12)
For anyone to say Israel wants to aid the murderous assad regime is beyond rediculous. But then we should expect nothing less from our arab friends, they all hate us, one more than the next. The enemy of my enemy is indeed my friend!!
13. You Should Help Assad!
Raza ,   Karachi Pakistan   (11.13.12)
I can't see how you are so dumb. Once the Salafist (fastest growing Muslim sect) take over Syria, they will start to consolidate their positions in the Brotherhood countries and start a guerrilla war with Israel the likes it has never seen. You will be overwhelmed. Amazingly the only thing saving you are the Shias!
14. Assad=Salafists=M Bros=Shite. SECURE BIG ISRAEL, BUFFERS!!
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (11.13.12)
15. Next they'll tell us the Mossad Shark is helping Assad.
Dan Kelso   (11.13.12)
Next the Syrian opposition will tell us the Mossad Shark, Mossad Vulture and the 4000 Jews who didn't show up at the World Trade Center are helping Assad.
16. #1. respect our borders
jawa ,   henderson USA   (11.13.12)
that a lot coming from a country who is living on seized land. Isn't Golan heights Syria?
17. Syria revolution already hijacked...
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.13.12)
...before it's even over. This must be a record even for this bogus Arab Spring. Abandon hope. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
18. The Arab Winter reaching Syria
chris ,   wales   (11.13.12)
All this Arab Spring is really an Arab Winter..it the Muslim brotherhood that is gaining Power and this is their Revolution aided by Obama..Assad is Bad-but better than these more Evil barbarians taking over the Entire Middle east
19. Do you really want me
