1. No more "operations". Retake Gaza forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.15.12)
Israel should never have left Gaza in the first place. That is the root of all our Gaza problems. No more "operations". They do no long term good. Retake Gaza forever.

Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.15.12)
Yes lesson learnt:Improve longer range missiles to ruin Israel. I guess Hizbullah possibly then fold stronger than ever with improved missiles. I wonder why Ron Ben-Yishai always pop out in such times when he immediately refuted by facts. Are you not reading your newspaper? They are striking Tel Aviv, does it like they were detered? Best advice :Learn how to run fast like a hare!
3. I sincerely hope the Nitin Yahoo wins the elections
Marwan ,   Tel Aviv, Palestine   (11.15.12)
Because through his psychotic leadership shall be the imminent demise of (Israel)
4. know it all ben yishai
mofti   (11.15.12)
ben yishai is like so many others like ross and kurtzer, know nothings. egypt wouldn't guarnantte zero whether mubarak or morsi and hamas and their brothers are totally untrustworthy. They will break every agreement. Send them all to allah.
5. The rockets.
Matt   (11.15.12)
It was mulled to launch an operation much early but, we did not want it to influence the Egyptian elections, we wanted those elections decided on domestic issues. Iran gives them these Fajr rockets, that can hit deeper into Israel. Which only means that the response is going to be much harsher.
6. Hamas Djihad Rockets
Marc Abitbol ,   Paris France   (11.15.12)
I sincerely pray for peace and a Just Peace for both Israelis and Palestinians. The hate of the other leads nowhere. The Hate of expressed Turkish citizen and by a Israeli Arab or a Palestinian living in Tel Aviv are are devoid of any moral value. Israƫl has been attacked since The IDF and Settlers left GAZA. There actually no blockade. There is a dictatorshipof Hamas leaders rejecting any election and constitutinf a southern front against Israel for Iran. Israel must destroy the threat and discuss seriously a global peace. If a ground Forces is necessary , it must be done but the only exit strategy is direct discussions for a Two or Three States solutions with direct discussions with HAMAS in Egypt. Apologies must be done by The israeli Leadership for the Marmara Affair and the nine Turkish citizens who died in international waters, even though the Marmara organizers wanted a clash and were licious in their aims. The Good will of The Turkish government must be tested. There is no interest in launching a global war. There is interest in restoring a long lasting deterrence and establishing a lasting opeace with palestinians, with all palestinians. The creation of the State of Israel is perceived as a NAKBAH a Catastrophy by all or Most palestinians. Regontion of their suffering and compensations must be discussed by Israel and The Colonial powers and European who created The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Both Israeli and Palestinian will to have and preserve their state are legitimate. A militarized Palestinian state is unacceptable for Israel. NATO Forces should Garantee the security and defense of the demilitarized palestinian state.
7. Truce is needed
TipperLip ,   USA   (11.16.12)
Definitely another truce is needed. It is also definite that the happy-go-lucky terrorists will abide by it because their goal is to destroy Israel. Make sense? And neither does any of this idiocy from the UN to make a truce or eventually the US jumping in and insisting on a so called truce. All the time, while terrorists will continue to hurl rockets into Israel. Until the country of Israel razes Gaza, it's going to be the same old game. And eventually hundred of Israeli children will be killed when a missile hits a school. And guarantee yourself, the UN & the US will still insist on Israel using restraint. Idiots!
8. Israel has not learned the word deterrent?
Naro ,   nyc   (11.16.12)
Israel must punish Gaza so severely for every rocket attack that it will not dare fire additional rockets. There should not be a single multilevel building still standing in Gaza. If IDF is not willing to attack, give Israelis the right to fire home made rockets into Gaza.
9. right answer- destroy Hamas in Gaza
Ghilmeini ,   usa   (11.16.12)
then turn the mess over to the PA who know better.
10. I recommend giving the civilians 48 hours to leave
into the sinai ,   jack bauer   (11.16.12)
then begin a rolling barrage from the north to the south, and the troops can follow the artillery. Then kill anything left in the entire strip. Afterwards apologize for the extreme measures and seal the border permanently. Lets make the entire strip into an uninhabited nature park. Only then do I realistically think there will be peace from the area.
11. RE: #6
jack bauer   (11.16.12)
the entire post was nothing but dribble. There has never been in all of history a country called palestine. And their doesnt need to be one. There are no such people. They are made up as a way to attack Israel. Arafat was an arab born in cairo. And all the fakestinians are arabs. They already have 20+ countries. As for marmara we owe them no such apology. And NATO has no place defending your imaginary people in their imaginary country. Anyone who believes in terror should be deported at once out of Israel, ALL of it, only then will the daily stabbings and rock attacks end.
12. Let's change the rules
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.16.12)
Since they think that they set the rules, let's not do that way. Move in and eliminate them.
13. gazza
spookey ,   birmingham uk   (11.16.12)
there will never be peace there while hamas rules the people were hood winked by hamas , who are tools of t iran, like arafat was of the arabs who plied him with money to buy weapons to have a go at the jews while there greasy slimey leaders sat and watched iran will never allow hamas to leave , gaza is next door , target the leaders then start on the little people god bless isael
14. The Obvious stragedy
Nice Bloke ,   Rochdale, UK   (11.16.12)
....is for Israel is to now pursue an endless war of attrition against Hamas - nothing large-scale, but a drip-by-drip targeting of their military capabilities and political leadership - a never ending process that, will not defeat them, but will erode them day by day by day.
15. Isreal' s lesson finish the job
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.16.12)
Circumstances of the actions and political enviornment is changing and for now the expanding of Muslim Brother is the reason from boldness of Hamas. What the Hamas and & learn is not relevant, hiere the main cause is the break which Israel gave them to regain the strength. Again and again living unfished busines require more sacrifices from Israel to cope with the losses.
16. You must not speak on anything!
joseph ,   Australia   (11.16.12)
Do you think we forget so easily? You wanted us to sign up to Olso, move out from the Golan because that would bring 'peace'. Just from Gaza, we have now have missles hitting Tel Aviv. Imagine if we left the West bank and the Golan, on all of your suggestions where would we be now? Not now, but history would surely equate all the misguided leftist people as the as Chamberlain who also shouted 'Peace in our time'
17. It must be dawning on the
(11.16.12)
dimwits in Tehran by now that THE PLAN is now rolling up their little plans for hegemony in the Middle East. Assad will soon be history, Hamas will soon be wiped out and Hezbollah now hiding in little rat holes fearing for their lives will be next. Once the spring/summer time frame arrives Israel takes out Hezbollah and the US takes down the Mullahs and their atomics.
18. Truce without destroying Hamas infrastructure is useless. A
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (11.16.12)
waste of time and Israeli soldiers who will risk their lives on the ground. All or none or the next missiles will come the day after the truce
19. #2 - some Fajr-5 rockets were not hit
William ,   Israel   (11.16.12)
the IAF operation to hit them was cancelled at the last minute when the pilot saw children playing around the area the launch site was in....right next to a school. This is the price we pay for avoiding civilian casualties. Notice how more fierce the IDF attacks became when Hamas fired towards Tel Aviv. If this became the norm, Gaza would be a parking lot. Hizbullah may be stronger than in 2006 but Nasallah's also smarter and so far has remained quiet since then....especially now.
20. #3 - nothing more grand than Jewish self-defense
William ,   Israel   (11.16.12)
It's helped us survive for centuries, helped us win against 5 well-armed Arab armies in 1948, helped us demolish the armies of 3 Arab States in 6 days, has helped keep Nasrallah quiet for 6 years after he publicly apologized, and keeps many Arab leader quiet during operations in Gaza. Maybe "psychotic" is what we need and he has my vote. Although for you, you might not fair so well in the Jewish State with that attitude.
21. RE: # 11
Rica ,   Florida/Israel   (11.16.12)
"May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you! May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace". FOR TELLING IT AS IT IS. Another words....THE TRUTH! Shalom and Blessings from LaJudia18@hotmail.com.
22. lose lose
bill ,   canada   (11.16.12)
the rockets are getting better; the idf is getting weaker; and gaza will get more worldwide support after all the atrocities; the israeli Right are really dumb
23. to Tayfun
Emiel Gwosdz ,   Belgium Beringen   (11.16.12)
Your peace turkish ships and the other specific vessels had the objective more of these missiles to deliver. Peace is a word that does not exist in the Muslim world. They kill themselves in their own countries, and say: we are the ones who want peace. Wake up.
24. According to Muslim theory
(11.16.12)
Islam is so strong that all it has to do is threaten and the opposition will shudder in fear and back off. In the United States and Western Europe this is known as "multiculturism." Got news for you, baby, it ain't gonna happen here.
25. STABILITY
PAUL MULLEN ,   UK   (11.16.12)
I'm am appalled by the number of comments on these pages calling for death and destruction.Israelis long ago we're thought of as a courageous religious people,Now known the world over as spiteful ,revenge fueled monsters.I pray for the innocent Jews the world over who will have to pray the price for your blood lust
26. When Gaza arabs will be tired
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (11.16.12)
of war I suggest them to think about a political solution. For instance not to create a new state with Sinai arabs, east of El Arish line. This entity is viable and gives prospects for the future instead of suicidal wars against Israel.
27. Did Hamas bank on Morsi's support this time?
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (11.16.12)
Is that why they have "upped" their rocket attacks lately? Did they think Egypt would also get involved this time and save their skin? Obama has already publicly stated the US is 100% behind Israel, as did the US Senate. Did Morsi miscalculate their commitments, I think so. He was going to be their savior and here he his BEGGING Israel to stop this operation. No one wants to see a ground war, but if that is what it takes to free Gaza of these thugs, so be it. Both Gaza and Israel will be better off when they are eliminated from firing rockets again. For the rest of the world watching, how many rocket attacks would it take until your country did something about it? Don't point your finger at Israel then.
28. Hamas is not and never will be a
Meghan ,   Ashdod Israel   (11.16.12)
partner for peace. They are a terrorist group that has no value for life, the lives of there own seems so cheap. I honestly feel for those Gazans who just want to have a normal life, but they never will under Hamas. They fear speaking out against them, iot would mean punishment for them and their families, and a cruel one to.
29. We nust decimate hamas and the other
Reuven   (11.16.12)
terrorist groups, to prevent this from becoming a war of attrition.
30. Israel policy is depletion of Hamas rockets, not deterrence.
naro ,   nyc   (11.16.12)
It seems pretty obvious that Israel is not taking strong steps to deter Hamas rocket attacks, perhaps feeling fearful of international condemnation and prosecution. Instead Israel is policy is intermittent attacks aimed at DEPLETION of the rocket arsenal in Gaza. Netanyahu is willing to accept periodic rocket attacks on Israel as an excuse for going into Gaza and cleaning up their rocket supplies. Real deterrence is only achieved when the enemy is actually deterred, and it is obvious that Israel is not willing to go to the level of attacks which will actually be a deterrent for Hamas.
