32. #21 read what god thinks of Israel as it is in his holy word
james ,   ny usa   (11.16.12)
64 Then the LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known. 65 Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. 66 You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life. 67 In the morning you will say, “If only it were evening!” and in the evening, “If only it were morning!”—because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see. 68 The LORD will send you back in ships to Egypt on a journey I said you should never make again. There you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you. _Deutronomy 28:64-68 so please dont try to make simple minded people believe that god is on israel's side, god is much bigger then to be involved in a political let alone armed struggle, so study your bible before talking stupidity

The border of the Mandate was the same as they are now - the Jordan River. As for nonsense - you morons have cornered that market. The Arabs do not and never have any sort legal claim to any of our territory.
34. #31--jimmyboy get educated !!!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (11.16.12)
you obviously have limited intelligence and do not know history. Bigots like you are always looking for a way to bash the superior country of Israel. So go back and learn how to read.

38. Class, developments?
George ,   USA   (11.17.12)
Hamas’ actions during the current flare-up suggest that there is a significant intellectual development taking place within the movement, the most recent of several that have taken place throughout the history of Palestinian resistance. From 1948-1967, there was a general expectation amongst the Palestinian Arabs that the Arab community as a whole would work to liberate them. They were misled by the grand rhetoric of the Arab leaders of the period, as became strikingly clear with the results of the 1967 war. After 1967, the Palestinian resistance largely operated in exile, and in the late 1980s, active resistance returned to Palestine with the First Intifada. Now, however, Hamas, operating outside of the realm of international legitimacy and without a characteristic single, charismatic leader, has challenged Israel in a new way by striking at Tel Aviv. This development and the circumstances surrounding it suggest that Hamas, at least, has woken up from Arab daydreams of a better past and taken charge of its own future, for better or worse. These events are happening at a particularly interesting time for Israel as well. Israeli national identity is being challenged domestically; immigration policy and, more prominently, the military draft are putting different parts of Israeli society against each other. Who is a Modern Israeli? The cosmopolitan from Tel Aviv, the religious observer from Jerusalem, the communist or socialist from the Kibbutz, or the Hebrew? At a time when Israeli society is struggling to identify itself, it is being forced to defend itself from outside threats. Israelis ability to unite internally, to define their national identity will ultimately determine their strength, especially in peacetime.
39. To #10
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, Us   (11.17.12)
I agree with you, except for the apology. Nobody questions the winner. I remember the leaflets dropped by the Allies during WWll. When we'd see those - I still have some as souvenirs - we knew what was coming and it usually did: tabula rasa in the designated areas.
40. # 1 and his dreams
Stan ,   Israel   (11.18.12)
As usual "Chaim who Knows All" has the answer, and as always, he is wrong. Our RIGHT WING government does not agree with him.
41. To # 2 Tayfun you are a fool.
Stan Israel   (11.18.12)
1. Israel has developed a defense rocket which can destroy hostile rockets with a range of 10 Km and more, which are fired from Gaza or Lebanon. The computer checks where the rocket will land, and if it is outside populated areas, a defense rocket WILL NOT be fired. (So no rocket is wasted on something that will do no damage.) 2. Israelis living in villages less than 10 km distance from the Gaza Strip have been under rocket and mortar fire for the past TWELVE YEARS!!!!! Maybe not every day, but every week. Hundreds of rockets or mortars have fallen in or around these villages in the past 12 years. WHAT WOULD TURKEY DO UNDER SUCH CIRCUMSTANSES ? What would this do to the mental health of children growing up in such conditions?
42. #10 super reccomended ! brillian project
Daniela   (11.18.12)

43. Ah Ah Ah ! Tel Aviv "palestine" !!!!!! in your dreams no.2!

44. Wrong, Hamas will be destroyd
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.18.12)
Despite of 800 rockets launched(100 felt in Gaza) Irael copy very good with the situation and the main menu wait for Hamas.
45. attrition yes, mutual, no
J Burney ,   New Jersey, USA   (11.19.12)
Just a small disagreement regarding terminology. A classic war of attrition that is mutual involves the mutual deliberate wearing down of the enemy by both sides of material, equipment and manpower/soldiers. It should not include any political will issues--those are entirely another matter. In the case of Operation Pillar of Defense it is clearly a case of the IDF attritting the material (the rockets and launchers and launch sites) of Hamas, but there is no mutual attrition going on--the IDF's arsenal is far in excess of that needed to level all of Gaza to the ground, and it has adequate precision weaponry to wage war for an indefinite time. The war of attrition thus is highly one sided--the purpose of the war, militarily, is to remove from Gaza all weapons, sites, hiding places, tunnels and equipment etc. that may be used to lob missiles over the fence--a tall order indeed. If opportunity strikes, it is also to reduce the personnel of the other side. That personnel appears to be relatively easy to replace, however, and somewhat elusive, so it appears less important to destroy Hamas operatives than it is to destroy Hamas equipment and staging areas.
46. Jordan is the real Palestine
Rina ,   Toronto   (11.20.12)
For anyone who has read Dr. Seuss. I'm gonna be "the who" and say this until someone hears me. Jordan is Palestine. Jordan was founded in 1946 two years before modern Israel on land which was a part of biblical Israel. It was supposed to be the Palestinian people's country. Why is it not enough for the Palestinian people to have a land which is four times the size of Israel. Why can a non -Muslim not enter Mecca? Why can no churches be built in Saudi Arabia? Why is an untouchable , and exclusive holy city not enough for them. Why do they need to have another religion's holiest city, Jerusalem. A city which was the Jewish people's holiest city before Islam was a religion. Why is it that it is impossible for the Militant Leaders and organisations of xenophobia like Hamas and Hezbollah to share the Middle East. Why is one hundred times the Muslim land mass to one Israel not good enough for them. Hamas is using violence to further this xenophobic and exclusive agenda. They, and other terrorist organisations in the Middle East have one goal in mind an exclusively Muslim region. Israel has no choice but to stand up and fight for its very existence. Peace will only come to the region when the bullies in the school yard learn to share. The bullies being the organizations who further this xenophobia, like Hamas. It is up to the individual Palestinian people to stand up and say we are different, we will share we want Peace, because Hamas really doesn't care about the individuals. They will destroy and mow down Palestinian individuals in their quest for power and exclusivity as readily as they try to do to the Jews. Frankly if Israel didn't exist the Palestinians would have been killed in much grater numbers by the other factions in the area warring for individual power. Because, once they achieve religious exclusivity in an area the violence doesn't stop. a.ka. Syria
