We have always been a people of diverse opinions. We should never be afraid of hearing what is said by and within Am Yisroel, whether its from a vegan LGBT Havurah or Satmar shul. We are a people of ideas. These ideas have changed the world. If those ideas gain traction, or not, it should be because of the value of what is said or not said. I am not afraid of listening to someone or something I disagree with. I am confident in my own knowledge of history, culture, philosophy, current events, faith, and ritual, that I don't feel threatened. Nor do I feel that shouting down or shutting out a fellow member of the tribe should be acceptable to any of us.
