In 2008 because Livni was behind in all the polls and everybody's election campaigns were on hold during Cast Lead Olmert decided against the wishes of the IDF to unilaterally claiming that we would discuss the terms with Hamas later. This is pretty much part 2 of Cast Lead which was never finished. I just hope Bibi has more guts that Olmert and won't cop out for the sake of the election like Olmert did although at the same time it must be done right. Don't rush to send in the ground troops because Hamas have no doubt booby trapped Gaza so the airforce must do as much damage as possible first. Once we do go in we must stop worrying about surgical strikes because if we are trying to be careful to avoid civilian casualties its going to result in solders getting killed. Ceasefire on our terms or operation or ground war that involves minimum Israeli casualties.

1. All terrorist activities cease immediately. This includes rockets fired into Israel from Gaza, West Bank or Lebanon. 2. All terrorists with blood on their hands be turned over to Israel for summary execution. 3. Evacuate a 40 mile buffer zone in Gaza between Gaza and Israel. 4. Institute birth control so that there is ZERO population growth in Gaza.

Same old story,they start it,and when the going gets tough they run to the UN or the arab league.screaming Israeli aggression...then they want a ceasefire..this is all so predictable..I hope this time Israel simply settles this once and for all.

No to Hamas demands. When Hamas agrees to stop their indiscriminate firing of rockets/mortars into Israel and agree to recognize Israel's right to exist, only then can peace prevail in the region. Hamas is on its way out. They have killed more of their own kind than they have killed Israelis. They have trampled on the rights of native Gazans and have exploited the needs of their people. Hamas leadership are the occupiers. Not only have they stolen land from the Israelis, but they have occupied the minds of their people/children with salacious stories and propaganda that has prevented myriads of citizens from using their god gifted talents in the best interest of their families and the world. And these folks are unwilling to negotiate with Israel face to face. They would rather face martyrdom then allow peace loving Palestinians to live amicably among their neighbors. Israel is willing to negotiate, but Hamas is not. Is their a solution to the stand off. Who knows, but I think the ball is in Hamas' court.

Maybe they should open their eyes and see what Israel has done with the wasteland they inherited. Cooperation in the Middle East could change countless lives for the better, fear and poverty would disappear. Education , freedom of religion and for women would prosper. Why are the rich Arab states not providing a future for their "brethren"?

For the years HAMAS has been rocketing Israel, Israel ought to have cut waterpower etc, and should now until HAMAS is gone and hostilities are concluded. Profits to the IsraelElectric Company and others are NOT worth the lives of Israelis murdered to date.

I certainly want a quick victory for Israel and as much protection as possible for innocent civilians.Israel has been bombarded mercilessly by Hamas and its minions. No nation should have been expected to put up with the over 800 rockets and mortars fired from Gaza which have landed in the Jewish State this past year.

Feel free to leave Israel to go live on a desert island where you wont have to pay tax on your salary. Wishing you a pleasant journey & a joyous stress free life.

Besides if Egypt needs back up they can call on the Turkish, Saudi, Pakistani and Iranian airforces to keep the IAF at bay.

What an Irony, Hamas throw hundreds of rockets at Israel over the past few years and when David gets tired of it and responds...hamas believes it is in a position to make cease fire demands !.
