I can't think of another similar conflict anywhere in the world where a western country would even consider a cease-fire, to allow the enemy to rearm. This has been going on too long. Israel should act strongly and fully to destroying Hamas. The world will condemn Israel, no matter what it does. Maybe the last remaining chance for a lasting ceasfire could come from increased pressure on Hamas - Israel should shut off water and electricity in Gaza, and give Hamas 2-3 days to stop the rockets. If they don't comply, cutting off these resources will only help prepare for Israel's ground invasion, this is exactly want any self-respecting western government would do to defend its citizens against relentless terror.
