1. Use WW II as the model. Finish the job!
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.22.12)
Instead of doing a half asse job, Israel should use the WW II model of victory. Finish the job! Do whatever it takes for absolute victory. After achieving absolute victory, dictate our terms for our "Palestinian" enemies to leave our land forever.
2. Gaza
Rohan ,   George,S.A.   (11.22.12)
This is typical Israeli arrogance...why don't you try and find an honest answer to your problems....huh,like talking to them and respecting them as humans.
3. @#1
David ,   San Francisco   (11.22.12)
How about you go back to Moscow with your FM? lol a land full of Europeans claiming its "their" nation. What a load of crap! No wonder no nation of earth supports Israel, its filled with black hearts such as yours.
4. i am sorry for the residents of the south
Barney ,   USA   (11.22.12)
and i am sorry for the idf who just went through basically an exercise of futility. i am sure they knocked out a lot of good targets. in my opinion, if the leader of hamas can come out and declare it a national holiday then the level of pain they felt was totally inadequate. they should hav e been coming out declaring a day of survival of helping one another because things will not return to normal for years.
5. It sounds like you just like to kill
Moshe ,   Los Angeles, CA   (11.22.12)
Seriously? Israeli soldiers don't want the killing to stop, and would rather continue the slaughter of innocents along with militants? Even for someone fundamentally sympathetic to Israel, I have to say it's getting more difficult to justify or excuse Israeli actions every day. It's not as if the Palestinians don't have a case either. Get out of their lands, let them run Palestine while Israelis run Israel, and then there will be no more excuse for violence. But as long as you occupy Palestinian territory, the violence will continue. Isn't that obvious?
6. it was never the question....
les ,   canada   (11.22.12)
if the IDF/IAF can finish the job! WE KNOW THEY CAN! it is always the politicians whom put their personal ambition and interest above the people of israel, and the nation!!!
7. Bibi and Barak Do a "Olmert/Livni" and commit Suicide
meir elazar   (11.22.12)
This might have been unexpected of Barak who is the only remaining player of the Three Stooges (Olmert, Livni, and Barak) but we expected more of Bibi and Lieberman. Never has Israel found herself in such a good position as now with Iron Dome protecting citizens and HAMAS clearly attacking citizens. USA funded and backed the operation thus shares in the success of Iron Dome. The non-savage or less savage parts of the world understood that no country could allow its citizens to be under constant attack. Now Bibi and Barak surrendered and handed Hamas a "Victory" if you can call it that. They certainly do. But they also put their political fate in the hands of Hamas. All Hamas has to do is start a new barrage of rocket fire just before the elections and this may dramatically shift the elections to the right. Many people, especially in the south, saw the enormous potential of the current situation and are totally disappointed with Bibi and Barak. HAMAS's resumption of rocket fire may well shift undecided voters away from Bibi and Barak towards the extreme right.
8. Iron Dome Showed the Brilliance of Our Scientists and Techno
meir elazar   (11.22.12)
logists. Why oh why G-d couldn't you give at least a little intelligence to our political leaders?
9. israel lost
mohamed ,   EGYPT   (11.22.12)
israel bowed against the hamas missiles and didnt even think to continue the operation ,,, loser
10. no to condemning Netanyahu
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.22.12)
People condemning Netanyahu or mocking Hamas for declaring victory don't understand what just happened. Fatah is the recognized representative of the Arabs and pretends to agrees to coexistence with the Jews. Hamas proudly declares its goal to exterminate the Jews. Hamas started this war, with rocket attacks, a tunnel mine, gate booby trap and missile attack on a jeep. Netanyahu was forced to react, and the IDF did with amazing skill and accuracy. The only strange thing is Jabari exposing himself exactly when the Hamas attacks increased. Then the most unexpected thing happened: wall-to-wall support for Hamas and condemnation of Israel. The world declared that it was illegal for Israel to defend her territory and civilian population in the face of unprovoked attack by an organization dedicated to genocide that is less legitimate than Fatah. From that moment, it did not matter whether IDF went into Gaza or not, and did not matter how many Hamas soldiers Israel killed. The world declared that Israel is less legitimate than what was until then a terrorist organization. Netanyahu rightfully called-off the operation. My guess is that Clinton's visit was to clarify that now that Obama has another four years, he will implement the teachings of Reverend Wright: American alliance with the Brotherhood to sweep away the American-allied dictators and end the Jews. Netanyahu, Barak and Lieberman are not to blame. The only question is what to do now.
11. #3 U a native american? Hypocrite!!

alsky ,   Toronto   (11.22.12)
who says its over ? check mate Thank g-d Israelis enemies are not very bright
13. I would think
alsky ,   Toronto   (11.22.12)
due to the 84% success of Iron Dome, Israel will be winning many contracts As far as Im concerned , Hamas has given Israel a PR victory. As a Canadian, I can say mot people here are starting to appreciate where Israel is coming from
14. to#5 talk is cheap
David ,   Montreal, Canada   (11.22.12)
when your siting on your fat a..eating chips and watching a game on tv. Mean while Israel is being terrorised by Hamas not by the Pals. What muslum gov't is not seeking personal wealth and starving its people. Get you cataract removed or sober up before posting a coment.
15. Peace Please
Paul ,   Dublin, Ireland   (11.22.12)
Last few weeks have been horrible. Deaths and carnage on both sides, awful. Really don't understand why you guys can't just live in peace, violence only will beget violence. imagine how prosperous Israel and Gaza would be if there was a lasting peace. Billions and billions of EU and US grants would pour into create a real beacon of prosperity in the Middle East.
16. Why don't you go there and see how that works out for you?
(11.22.12)
17. No9
Jose ,   Seville,Spain   (11.22.12)
I would look closer to your home country of Egypt. You have certainly lost. Look what Egypt was, all around monuments of its greatness that bought millions of tourists to view the beautiful sights. Now under Morsi, a broken country, almost bankrupt run by a narcissistic islamo fascist. Oh you have definately lost!
18. Obama Told Bibi No
World Citizen ,   the world   (11.22.12)
Or Bibi knew he would have lost the coming election if the Israeli body count got too high. Either way Hamas has won this round and the PR war. The other thing you have to consider is the general Israeli population has become jaded and decadent. You talk tough but expect other nations to fight your wars of Middle Eastern hegemony. This is why NATO invaded Iraq. If Israelis have it their way someone else's children will die attacking Iran. But alas, I do believe the world is turning a corner. Enough is enough of your warmongering. It's time for honest negotiating with Hamas. It's time to get out of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and Shabaa Farms. Oh by the way #8. Iron Dome is a costly joke. It's so expensive to use one missle that your government only used them to protect the rich in Tel Aviv. Everyone else is expendable.
19. Reminds me of Bush Sr.
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (11.22.12)
When he stopped Gen Schwarzkopf in 1990 from taking out Saddam Hussein, that "war" lasted a whole 48 hours. The US is sending warships off the coasts of Israel, so if there is another go at Israel by the Terrorstinians soon, there will probably be H@ll to pay during the next war. Maybe they are gearing up to take out the nuke sites in Iran as well? All I know is that there will be some heavy firepower floating off the coasts of Israel soon. It's about time we got serious about peace in the ME.
20. IDF reservist
Andres Bachrach ,   Kfarsaba   (11.22.12)
I am 92 years old, born in a osteuropian country. All in my life I suffered being a jew unable to save myself frm the different antisemetic enminitys. In russia and in polonia the jews were suffered under constant inhuman pogrom attacs from the sword rattling kosac teams. todays in Israel we are attacked day and nights from a barbaric terrorist crowd with newly smuggled rakets, but now we don' run away on the contrary we could see how our youthful soldiers unhesitatingly took their weapons arrived on their place and waited patiantly on the order of their superiors and when they finished their job they took their packegies and went home to ther familys. All this being able to see it was the happyest time of my life. 21. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel is ours.   (11.22.12)
Our FM is not from Russia, but from Moldovia. As for no nation on earth supports Israel, you are delusional. Israel has millions of supporters & many nations are our friends. You opinion isnt worth 2 farts in the dark.
22. # 13
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.23.12)
Bless you Alsky.
23. # 5
Birdi ,   Israel   (11.23.12)
Your ignorance is bliss.
24. #5 You occupy a Jewish name
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (11.23.12)
Really you should give up your name just like you've given up your rights to be considered part of Am Yisroal, and want to give it to the real thieves. You are a moron and don't you dare insult our highly ethical and moral IDF who are valiantly trying to prevent the real murderers at work from doing their carnage.
25. Peace
Moshe Ben Zion ,   New York USA   (11.23.12)
Can't we all just get along
26. #9 - Mohammed the dreamer!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (11.23.12)
The purpose of the Israeli operation was TO STOP THE INCOMING ROCKETS! Have they stopped? The answer is a big YES! Therefore Israel won, period! And if the terrorists start sending again, have no doubt Mohammed, IDF this time will go in with the support of the whole civilized world and clean up the Hamas and Islamic Jihad scum. Have no doubt about that!
27. To: No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.23.12)
That's a pretty ridiculous statement. Have you seen the destruction in Gaza, you stupid pig? Don't you realize that Israel destroyed the terrorist infrastructure? By the way, it seems that you people might have to hit Tahrir Square again. Looks like Morsi decided that the Egyptian people aren't ready for democracy. So much for the "Arab spring," eh?
28. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.23.12)
Actually, most of the Irone Dome batteries were deployed around Be'ersheva and Ashdod. Hamas lost this round, especially the public relations aspect. All the photoshopped pictures of dead babies? And the photograph of a bloodstained little girl that turned out to have been a child who was killed in Syria several weeks ago? Hamas is an international laughingstock. Oh, yes, and Israel destroyed most of the terrorist leadership and all of the terrorist infrastructure. Your devotion to terrorist causes is really rather disgraceful. But Israel has absolutely no intention of "negotiating" with an entity bent on the destruction of the State of Israel. The world has turned a corner. Their was solid support for Israel, especially in the West, where everyone simply said that Israel has an absolute right to defend its citizens against terrorist attack. Hamas did not win any friends or influence any people in the West, that's for sure.
29. To #18 - your motive is obvious.
Jonathan   (11.23.12)
Unfortunately, you are too clear with your 'agenda': 1. As for 'losing' the war: Israel has lost nothing in this operation. We have learned a VERY important lesson from it all: We have disengaged Gaza, and the world is still blindly biased. Some of the world's media is 'sold', and not just biasly report one sided news - we even see them effectively FAKE facts. 2. Now, as for your attempt to try and create arguments within Israel - Israel has been using the expensive Iron Dome all over the south, and not just in Tel-Aviv. But your attempt to make such an incorrect statement is pretty lame. You can lie in Al Jazeera, BBC, they would love these kinds of comments. Don't lie to us. We live here, and see how hard the IDF and the security forces are helping to secure Israel. It's just that sadly, we are not 'allowed' for one reason or another, to really solve the problem. 3. You calls to disengage more and more. Look at the way the Gazan are using this 'disengagement', or 'freedom'. They are not trying to really build a country. They merely dedicate their lives to try to slow down Israel's development. Why should Israel disengage more? If people don't want peace, then Israel needs to protect itself. All we got from Gaza is just missiles shot ino Israel. Who will protect Israel if it allows the same thing to happen in the West Bank. You? 4. Israel does not want other people to die for them. So many people even volunteered to go South, and help in any way. It's just that it seems like the world does not want to end this Gaza issue. That's the problem. 5. Don't give me that 'warmongering' argument. It's really not applicable. Let's take a step back. I'm not even going to say that Gaza belongs to Egypt, as everybody knows, let's ask one question: What if the Hamas or anyone in Gaza would have shot missiles at Cairo, telling the Egyptians that they don't recognize them, and that they want an independent state? Hint: Just look at what happens in Syria, when the guys simply ask Assad to leave, as they are asking for someone else.
30. they should have continued
Igor ,   Munich, Germany   (11.23.12)
Well, though being Jewish, it is hard for me to analyze the whole situation not living in Israel, but objectively the ceasefire is a joke and just an opportunity for hamas & co. to re-arm, Netanyahu improve his image for the upcoming election, the Egyptian Islamist government to show the world what a great leader and peace-broker (you gotta be kidding..) he is, and for Mr. Obama to collect the credit for all of this. From my point of view Israel should not give a damn about the opinion of the rest of the world, re-take gaza and finally complete an operation; By signing a ceasefire with these animals Israel simply shows how vulnerable it is. It is really just a matter of time before the situation escalates again...but none of your politicians, in fact no politician in no country gives damn about his or her country; its all about the image, winning elections and profit .I wish Israel all the best and hope that one day there will be a politician truly caring about the country. There is a simple rule: You start on operation, you complete an operation. This is n victory, but just an excuse for the upcoming elections and as I mentioned, time for Hamas & Co. to re-arm.
