It's not the Palestinians saying they accept a Jewish majority Israel. It's Jews putting words in the mouths of Palestinians and interpreting them as acceptance of a Jewish Israel. If Palestinians and Abbas accepted a Jewish majority Israel they wouldn't have trouble saying that peace leads to Jewish and Palestinian states as does everyone else. I forgot the most important thing -- the English language makes no gender distinction -- it's completely neutral. Verbs remain the same, and the modifiers do not changed. That is why it is very difficult for native English-speakers to learn foreign languages. It's almost impossible to memorize which nouns are masculine, which are feminine, and how to change the verbs to be masculine or feminine. Many's the time I've embarrassed myself when speaking Hebrew or French or Spanish, because I'd gotten it wrong! I finally simply made myself memorize as many as I could. Seems to have worked.

Peres is the poster child of the type of politician that is lethal for the survival of Israel. Perhaps he is snorting some lines in his office. To say Abbas is a partner for peace is ridiculous. This is the same man who is right now back at the U.N. asking for unilateral statehood, who himself has been involved with terrorism, who has been seen in public in pure glee when he learns Israel has been attacked. That certainly doesn't sound to me like a partner in peace. Peres is up in age, he has had a long career, his fellow cohorts should throw him a party and get him a lifetime membership to a good country club, so he can enjoy his life. But, Peres has no business being a politician anymore. Israel must have strong leaders who knows what it takes to get things done for the country and rebuffs the faulty and dangerous practice of appeasement.
