36. The Israeli far right consistently brings down the Likud
Logic ,   Israel   (11.27.12)
and then the Left comes into power and steps into disasters like Oslo in 1993 and Camp David in 2000. Just look at what happened in 1992 and 1999 to get a taste of what's coming. The conclusion is the only way for the right keep ruling in Israel is for the moderates to stay in and have a lot of sway.
37. No need to worry at all :)
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.27.12)
the so called right wing in "Israel" can talk the talk but cant walk the walk so Mabrouk . we will hear many threats in the coming days to Iran and Gaza and even to abu Mazen but no one will take it seriously anymore.
38. The people have spoken and spoken LOUDLY....!!!!!!
B"H ,   Israel   (11.27.12)
WE DON'T WANT LEFTISTS RUNNING THE GOVERNMENT.
39. This might gain or cost Likud seats
Zionist forever   (11.27.12)
The voting pattern might harm or benefit Likud. It is possible if the opposition can convince swing voters or traditionall but not unwavering Likud voters the party is extreme it might play into the hands of Livni or Lapid. It is also possible that Bibi could steal seats from National Union. However it plays out the likes of Felgin must follow the party line not act to hard core and must not constantly criticese Bibi because infighting in a party can bring down governments just as easy as other parties. The far right elements must also be realists and must give the party the image of responsible right because when we start resembling National Union it will not be beneficial to the country or party.
40. Comedians part 1
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.27.12)
The Comedians who hate Netanyahu and would never vote Likud condemn the Likud primaries that do not concern them. Suddenly, they love Meridor and see his ejection as a tragedy. Meridor has no electoral support. Including him on the list will bring Likud no votes. Last elections, Netanyahu appointed Meridor in an undemocratic move that cost the Likud 2-3 mandates. He was made Minister, but in four years had NO achievements except collecting a very high salary. So Likud go rid of an electoral liability who failed as a Minister. That is democracy.
41. Comedians part 2
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.27.12)
I don't know if the Comedians' criticism of the Likud primaries are funny are tragic. The Likud elected people not on ideology but performance and record. The best ministers and most effective MKs we've had in years all made it to the top: Saar, Erdan, Katz, Edelstein, Dannon, Elkin and Levin Even Steinitz who has little grass-roots support and was subject to defamation from the extreme Left was reelected due to his excellent record. Compare the opposition picks: Lapid an inexperienced journalist who got his only job from his daddy; Yehimovitch a junior MK who supported Hezbolla and loves the Greek economy; Livni Israel's worst-ever Foreign Minister who says she did not notice she was surrounded by corruption; Olmert and Deri, two convicted criminals.
42. Comedians part 3
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.27.12)
Why the hatred for Feiglin? He is a normal guy whose popularity stems from leading a legal protest against the disastrous Gush Katif withdrawal (ask the residents of Beer Sheba, Ashdod and Rishon). He is good for 3-4 mandates for the Likud. The fact is that these attacks are not innocent, but a reasoned and cynical application of rule 12 of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals": pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. As Alinsky said "go after people and not institutions, people hurt faster".
43. 42
Zionist forever   (11.27.12)
I agree with most of what you say and Bibi had no right to put Felgin lower on the list to give the party a more centerst image last time, a healthy political party is one thats not made up of clones but can still show leadership. Felgin though does need a new image so he looks responsible rather than a National Union reject. He can and should have disagreements with Bibi in private but he must also accept its the PM who has the final say. Disagreements must also be kept private because radicals turn off voters. If Bibi doesn't keep the hardcore under control there is a real risk it will not only bring down the government but people won't trust Likud and it can take years to rebuild a damaged image.
44. thinking Jew # 25
simon marriott ,   haifa, Israel   (11.27.12)
I think not only thinking Jew but Blind Jew as well. Just look at the article again, the first picture you come to is Feiglin.
45. #43 thanks for your comments
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.27.12)
but remember: Feiglin is #14 on the Likud list. Does anyone know anything about #14 of Shas, Labor, Kadima, Livni, Lapid, Meretz, Ra'am or UTJ? Does anyone care? The answer is no: nobody knows or cares. As I wrote, the media focus on Feiglin is Alinsky's game plan, he is the boogey man they need to rally their sheep. In reality, Feiglin is a great guy and leader of democratic protests against Sharon's illegal activities. Feiglin can bring the Likud mandates so he deserves to be a Likud MK which is why Katz and Shalom helped him. Feiglin talked the talk, now he has to walk the walk. If he can deliver the good like Elkin, Danon and Levin, he will move up. If he doesn't, the Likud (unlike the Left) has lots of great people who will take his place.
46. My wager
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (11.27.12)
The combined far right party should get 12 seats between them, Labor has been taking on good young/new people.
47. I like Feiglin
sue ,   Jerusalem   (11.27.12)
he doesn't do the "double-speak" thing that most politicians do. he says what he thinks and he is proud to be a Jew, without any apologies.
48. Labor merges with peace now - radical ?!
yoni the Jew ,   Jewish homeland   (11.27.12)
what chutzpah for labor to speak of being radical when they are attracting oppenheim and his radical traitor friends...
49. I like Feiglin
sue ,   Jerusalem   (11.27.12)
he doesn't do the "double-speak" thing that most politicians do. he says what he thinks and he is proud to be a Jew, without any apologies.
50. Feiglin is Israel's hope
Brian ,   NYC   (11.27.12)
Feiglin will compliment the nice Likud list as he is an honest God fearing man committed to the true ideals of no concessions with terror. He will bring accountability and honesty to likud.
51. the meaning of extremist
Brian ,   NYC   (11.27.12)
Feiglin may indeed be extremist as opposed to moderate. Unlike many, Feiglin is extremely faithful to his wife (despite her horrific medical condition), not moderately faithful to her. Israel will gain the same faithful allegiance that Feiglin displays to his wife, though 95% of politicians would dump in her deteriorated physical state. That itself gave me immense respect of Feiglin once I saw him as a politician prancing around not with a trophy wife but a disabled wife that his love and loyalty to her never wavered or diminished an iota. Feiglin is an inspiration to me.
