1. It IS true that Netanyahu has shoved...
Gunnar ,   Gothenburg, Sweden   (11.28.12)
...more or less the entire world into Abbas' arms. Mahmoud Abbas has (perhaps incorrectly) appeared as the more pragmatic of the two, more open to compromise. It really is a shame that prime minister Netanyahu has never understood that one cannot undo what has happened in the last twenty years, and the signing of the Oslo accords. Smooth talk and an Ivy League English can only get you so far.
2. A state born under lock and key is a state worth zilch
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.28.12)
3. What do you suppose ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.28.12)
.... will happen to the United Nations when the United States Congress cuts off all funding to that less-than-august body? Will France, Norway, Denmark and Spain pick up the slack? Wouldn't matter. Because the United States Congress will simply announce that the tax-exempt status of all United Nations agencies, consulates and diplomats has been terminated. They occupy some pretty pricey real estate, all of it currently enjoying tax-exempt status. Now, they will have to be taxes, utilities and actually be responsible for parking tickets. Never fear -- France, Norway, Denmark and Spain will surely pick up the slack, right? Don't f**k with the big dog. You'll get bitten, and you won't like it.
4. First UNGA, next UNSC, Obama UN '67 borders coming to Israel
Steven Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (11.28.12)
5. Who cares about International Arena
Bill Klien ,   USA   (11.28.12)
To hell with the International Arena Time for Israel to annex area C and low populated areas of Area B. The French British consulate in Jerusalem and any other country's consulate that votes for this resolution should be closed. Israel showing weakness is the cause of all of this they don't fear Israel will do anything. Quit worrying about the ICC And your personal butts. International Law is on Israel's side AG Weinstien is nothing more in my opinion than a agent for Obama who pushes legal opinions and rewrites international law to motivate his own agenda.
6. So... Are leftists gonna start voting for Netanyahu...?
(11.28.12)
Since isn't that what the leftists wanted all along?
7. There's something nauseating about Ashrawi
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.28.12)
It's the way that she can come out with spiteful lie after spiteful lie with a patronising smirk on her face that make me want to vomit. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
8. unadulterated rubbish
norbus ,   Jersale   (11.28.12)
PA proven funnel for the $billions in aid dished out to terror outfits. The Pals future is bright; It is in Jordan.
9. Remember Durban? It's the same thing!
tiki ,   belgium   (11.28.12)
The vote didn't come because of Netanyahu/Lieberman, but because the UN has an automatic anti-Israel majority and takes the Willing West by the hand to join them in their anti Israel/ Jewish hate fest. If there would be any government, this thing would have happened exactly the same, if not earlier. Any opportunity to stick a finger in Israel's eye is a valid one! Don't delude yourself and stop assuming & believing. The world hates Israel, because the're to many Jews living there! The Arab world is at least honest and is saying loud & clear what it wants. The West wants the same, but is (as usual) hiding behind someone's back and only in the last second sticks the knife in!
10. Just Like The "Palestine" of 1988
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (11.28.12)
Remember that one? Same in this case. It's virtual. Half a million Jews living here, on the other hand, are very real.
11. Sarah B #3
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (11.28.12)
A great idea but our countries leaders don't have the will or the guts to do it.
12. Abbas is illegitimate.
Jules   (11.28.12)
The UN is going to accept a "member" whose leader is illegitimate.
13. #7 Ian, correct. She is just one ugly creature...LOLLLL
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.28.12)
The silly thing tries to pass itself off as "Christian".
14. #3 Qatar will pick up the bill
Lynx ,   Palestine   (11.28.12)
Sarah, how does it feel to be part of a declining empire? Your only remaining friends are Geriatric Britain (who is responsible for this mess to begin with) and Nazi Germany that dont want u back?
15. Fortunately
Michael ,   Haifa   (11.28.12)
Even with the growing prospect of an incoming extreme right-wing government, we shall still have Micronesia behind us, when the rest of the world turns against us
16. #12 Jules..Abbas has no democratic mandate.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.28.12)
Quite right,Jules.Abbas's 'presidency' ended years ago and similarly the mandate of the PA .The elections are now years overdue and Abbas and his PA cronies are now unelected and self-elected. It's deplorable that the UNGA should be hearing a motion submitted by people with no democratic mandate. My country's Foreign Secretary shouldn't be debating whether to support or abstain;he should be protesting to the UN that it's to vote on a motion to empower unelected tyrants despite the protests of the democratic government of the State of Israel. That is MY view and I've used my freedom as a UK citizen to tell William Hague exactly that. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
17. One conclusion : Stop with Political Righeouness
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.28.12)
The Arab'S Macheviallig game should be stoped, the game of Appealing also to teach them a lesson of repurcussion of stupid and unsincerelly acts. They don'h noting to offer to their population except corruption and an failled living standard. They have missed any oprtunity to make peace and to care about their people for whom no Arab country give a dam.
18. in what world we are living
jew ,   europe   (11.28.12)
shame on you all who saw what palestinians are and you go fight for their "rights" this must be a joke did i miss something, is a terrorism legal today ?? but dont worrie all you who stand up for arabs .... you will feed the enemy and in the end anyway it will turn against you too so wait ... everybody will get what is asking for
19. Israel, sue them all !!
jew ,   europe   (11.28.12)
what are the sleepy israely leaders doing ?? they should take the justice in their hands. stand up and sue all those states who openly stand up for terrorism! this is against all world union organitation's statments and laws!!!! so why are YOU not going around and screem like palestinians do??? wake up israel!!
20. # 9 , you said it all
jew ,   europe   (11.28.12)
that's true. can someone forwrd it also to israely govermet thanks p.s Israel dont try be fair and rightous there is no justice and rightougness in politic its all about a money or about a special case like now ours - ANTISEMITISM
21. criticized? how about steadfastly agreed
(11.28.12)
"There is a sense that the Europeans want to support Abbas after they criticized Hamas," he said. " Yet Abbas was teleavised as being for Hamas and are still trying to settle their differences hamas has even given its blessing to Abbas as going forward with the un bid.. since the last operation I see nor have read any obstruction by either party.. only concurrent agreements. and just why are we worried Abbas will lose and Hamas will win.. in fact if they do win it will make defeating them all that much easier. they cannot be made a Nation on terrorists, and the UN bid would be a laughing stock for the nations supporting it as Abbas government cannot support itself nor its citizens with out the constant support it has gotten. look at how much they have got in the past well over a billion dollars.. and most all spent on non essentials, and weapons of rockets, suicide belts etc.
22. The only solution is for Israeli leaders to openly challenge
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.28.12)
the existence of an entity called "Palestinians in Palestine"... Won't be easy, but kissing World's Butt with utterances about "Two Peoples" got us only THAT FAR! Simple questions like: who was the first Palestinian King should start the ball rolling.
23. Thats what you get when Liberman is FM
Haim ,   TA   (11.28.12)
Thanks to the former night club bouncer from Moldavia, who has manage to isolate Israel from the few countries that were Pro Israel. Great job liberman maybe you should go back to being a bouncer and leave the work of international politics to those who actually know what they are doing
24. #13 Noodles ... Ashrawi's problem
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.28.12)
The problem with Ahrawi is not that she is a Christian.I know many good church-going Christians in Newcastle upon Tyne and they aren't fooled by Palestinian Arab lies. They're firm supporters of Israel and I think it's true to say that the situation in the US is very much the same. The problem is not that Ashrawi is a Christian;it's that she's that degraded type who is a culturally Islamic Christian. In my opinion, though to a lesser degree,President Obama also comes within that category, and that explains a lot. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
25. All Aboard
Bill ,   Skokie USA   (11.28.12)
If the PA is going to get this passed inspite of Israeli objections, then it makes no sense for Israel to do anything but vote in favor of the resolution. This will put Israel in a much better position to lead in the future than fighting it.
26. palestine deserved to be state
adam adam ,   earth planet   (11.28.12)
israel must recognize the palestine state its better for the both of israeli and palestinians ,,,,,start new life guys and build your country instead of destroying it
27. Something good can come of this.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (11.28.12)
We can send Tibi and Zoabi to their beloved Palestine.
28. #24 I think Ashrawi converted
GZLives   (11.28.12)
29. Pals are succeeding because of Obama
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (11.28.12)
...the first US president of Muslim heritage who in the 1990s raised $ for Palestinian causes and was a good friend of Edward Said and Rashid Khalidi. Why do you think Pals donated $ to Obama's campaign? And the same Israeli leftists who supported Obama's election/reelection now have the chutzpah to blame tomorrow's UN vote on Netanyahu?! Perhaps next they should rewrite history to also blame Bibi for Egypt's new Islamist government.
30. Prediction
emanon ,   USA   (11.28.12)
If this resolution passes, the first act of the terrorstinians will be to attack Israel. They are already emboldened enough by the cease fire to declare that a victory. Who knows what any type of UN tstaus would do to their egos.
