1. Why can't this renegade be quarantined
Norbus ,   Urshalem   (11.29.12)
As an ex PM , who now has no official position and no right to talk for Israel why can't Speaker Rivlin slap a silence order on him, pending clearing him or otherwise from charges he faces
2. Olmert had his chance .Now shut up
Laura ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.29.12)
3. its trueeeeeeeeee

palestinian are winning !!!!!!!!!! they are winning
4. and later...
(11.29.12)
After the interview, Mr. Olmert was seen depositing a sizeable check in his bank account.
5. Olmert blabbering...
Ariel ,   Modi'in, Israel   (11.29.12)
on about something that he could not implement while he was at the helm in Israel!! He has his offers to the Arabs rejected one after the other and yet he still has his head up his anus insisting to believe that they really want peace!! Sure they do! On their terms and only once there are no longer any Jews in Israel...
6. But, "We Don't Want No 2 State Solution...."
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.29.12)
Mr. Olmert is undermining the future security of the Jews of Israel with his statements. He must be ignored.
7. Reason Olmert is finished!
M Carr ,   Baltimore   (11.29.12)
“I believe that the Palestinian request from the United Nations is congruent with the basic concept of the two-state solution. Therefore, I see no reason to oppose it," This quote reveals why Olmert is finished as a leading Israeli politician. First, a majority of Israelis have lost faith in the “Two State Solution.” Second, has Olmert considered what happens after Abbas leaves power? Can you imagine a Muslim Brotherhood backed government entrenched in the heart of Israel? I don’t think Olmert has properly thought out the long term ramifications of Palestinian statehood. Israel is better off ditching further land-for-peace schemes in my humble opinion.
8. olmert on Pa bid
shahaf ,   jerusalem   (11.29.12)
courageous and the right idea.
9. its trueeeeee
shahaf ,   jerusalem   (11.29.12)
there are no winners here. But there might be only loosers...
10. If Olmert thinks it's right...
Miracle Dog ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
You *know* it's wrong! In a way I wish he would be in these elections, so that he would get the message that nobody respects a convicted criminal who wants to give away half of Israel to hostile forces. Just look at that photo. What a sleazeball.
11. Failures never fade away, they keep popping up over and over
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.29.12)
12. Israel is WRONG
Sigal Eiland Schilma ,   Ramat Hasharon ISR   (11.29.12)
I sympathize with the Palestinians. We Israels are wrong to occupy their lands
13. The Palestinian State
Zivron   (11.29.12)
The future is hard to predict but Israels needs unity. Therefore Palestinians ought be treated well if they live in peace how many Jews go to Arab Israeli villages you keep. Out the bitter feral tribalism is strong .The Jews don't trust anyone and think people don't want trouble a demilitirized Palestinian State has been accepted by Noetanyahu. The Palestinians want belligerent rights and height of return for the Jews this is at this time a security threat. The status quo can be improved living standard wise both sides are not ready for peace on their core terms. But let them keep negotiating.
14. PA non-negotiating strategy
Ilan   (11.29.12)
As long as the PA demands that Israel concedes in advance to return to the '49 armistice lines there will be no negotiations. The reports after the last election suggested that Olmert through Chaim Ramon told Abbas to demand a freeze in building so as to create a crisis to remove the Likud from power. While that didn't happen it has stopped any negotiation and hardened the PA position so that it there is an en passe. Olmert' is channelling Achitophel in giving advice he knows will only make matters worse. He knows he can't rule so all he is left with is ruin.
15. Commentators here just seem not to understand...
Brad ,   USA   (11.29.12)
2-state solution is on the horizont. Days of taking land and claming other people who oppose it "antisemite" are over. Israel within 1967 borders is a fact that all will have to accept - Jews and Arabs alike.
16. Olmert is a flag changing its direction according to wind!
Jouko ,   Finland   (11.29.12)
17. Yes I support
sam ,   colorado-USA   (11.29.12)
Yes No reason to oppose Palestinian UN bid with two-state solution, and welcome for peace talks why not and shouldn't USA to head off a UN vote on the Palestinian Authority's bid So I see no reason to oppose it
18. Olmert : The Don Corleone of Israeli politics
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.29.12)
'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer' But does that mean you invite them to live in your house?
19. Seriously
Ram ,   London   (11.29.12)
Doesn't Olmert look like a tortoise that has lost its shell? :-)
20. Abu-Mazen mastermind of 1972 Munich olympics massacre...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.29.12)
Just saying.
21. Scary that this creature recently led Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.29.12)
Israel's enemies have never been our major danger. Leaders like Olmert are. It is scary that this creature, who does everything he can to empower Israel's genocidal enemies, once led Israel. No other nation would ever tolerate such an abominable excuse for a national leader.
22. Huh?
Seattlite ,   USA   (11.29.12)
, "in order to agree on specific borders based on the 1967 lines, and resolve the other issues," Seriously?
23. Not an easy pill to swallow!!!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (11.29.12)
Is it just me...or does anyone else find Olmert truly nauseating and repulsive to look at? The adjective, sleaze-ball, seems an apt description of this loser (reminds of Livni)! Politics is truly a corruptive machine, but, unfortunately, it's a necessary evil that we can't be without...no matter how bad it is! God help us!!!
24. The true consequence!!!
Z.Z. Coltrane ,   USA   (11.29.12)
All this bogus bid does is assure the eventuality of all-out war; thus, the Pelestinians promised destruction as declared in God's prophetical word. Abbas and his misguided cronies have little time left, neither does the false religion of islam! Israel need not fear, because the (our) true God will deliver them in their hour of need! Just wait on the Lord!
25. So why his beloved Abbas hadn't even responded to his overtu
ab   (11.29.12)
res and mad concessions, including "phased right of return" ?
26. Olmerd
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (11.29.12)
Olmerd is smart, he knows exactly why this should be opposed. If there is no chance of peace, this move weakens Israel. If he thinks there is a chance for peace, Olmerd has to explain why he failed miserably as PM in bringing peace, despite agreeing to full retreat from Judea and Samaria with ethnic cleansing of all Jews and massive influx of Arab immigrants into Israel. If there is a chance for peace, it must be based on both sides keeping agreements. This move indicates to the Arabs that they do not have to keep any agreements.
27. Olmert is a JOKE !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.29.12)
A very bad joke indeed...
28. East Jerusalem
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (11.29.12)
Do we want Hamas with Iranian arms sitting in East Jerusalem? Hamas threw Fatah out of Gaza, after doing well in a free and democratic election, running on a party platform of destroying the State of Israel. Olmert seems a bit out of touch.
29. Olmert you are a miserable failure. Now keep you mouth shut
meir elazar   (11.29.12)
and go back to your miserable corner. Leave these matters to intelligent competent people.
30. #12 If that is what you believe...
Israeli Jew 4 ever ,   Haifa   (11.29.12)
Why do you live in Israel? Why are YOU occupying their land? Go live some where else.
