32. Israel should be thankful it is held at all...
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (11.30.12)
Just imagine the "friends of the" US Marine Corp holding a similar event in the State of Israel period. I don't believe Israeli's would give one wooden nickel considering how much they compensate there soldiers ($100.00) a month , so if anything thank Stevie Wonder for the free publicity. Americans should be spending there money on there own soldiers. I support the IDF but 3 billion is enough.
33. #11: Stupidity knows no Limits
TC   (11.30.12)
A week ago, Stevie Wonder was an example for all of us and suddenly he's antisemitic?
34. get used to it
Jeff ,   USA   (11.30.12)
When someone does something for Israel they're dragged through the mud by the pro-Palestine crowd, and when they do something for the Palestinians they're dragged through the mud by the pro-Israel crowd... People are getting tired of this crap and will increasingly not want anything to do with either of you anymore.
35. 33, Tc
walt K ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (11.30.12)
There are lot of people who are like Seinfeld's Uncle Leo... At least, Mr Wonder is not for sale.
36. Wonderful
Ari Gold ,   LA USA   (11.30.12)
When was the last hit song Stevie had? 30 years ago? He's just living off past glory. He lacks more than vision. No chutzpah!!!
37. Nice, his pictures will be removed from the walls..
Beary White ,   Norway   (11.30.12)
..And the islamic followers should know he is an islamic prophet, and should never be pictured again. Allah akbar. Hopefully he will see the light some times.
38. #2 - Rhonda
Devorah   (11.30.12)
You have a great idea, and I hope someone picks up on it. I can't think of a better way to honor Tzahal, and impart a deeper understanding to FIDF, than having the guys from the front lines there, and the timing could not be better.
39. Arabs missing another opportunity
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (11.30.12)
Now that UN upgraded them they have a chance to use this opportunity to start peaceful negotiations with Israel. But instead Arabs are trying to further isolate Israel which not only will not produce any positive outcome but will eventually make things worse against them. If Rabs want a peaceful coexistane with Israel they have to start by respecting their rights also on Parts of Paestine.
40. Most People Don't Know What the UN Really Is: Corrupt
elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas!   (11.30.12)
UN. United Nations. It sounds good, but it isn't. Look at the members of the UN and their actions, or lack of action ---all characterized by an absence of justice. The US should withdraw support for the UN.
41. The UN....
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (11.30.12)
says Stevie can't play? Stevie can't play! The UN says the "Palestinians" are a real nation all of sudden? The "Palestinians" are a nation! (Not by ANY DEFINITION are the "Palestinian" Arabs a separate nation! The Kurds e.g. , yes, absolutely!) The UN rules!! It is ruling........................ ITSELF OUT OF EXISTENCE!
42. "Artists" aren't generally known for moral courage
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.30.12)
Wonder probably sees no up-side to standing with Israel and the Jews against the sentiments of many around him, and a limited down-side to stiffing FIDF - an organization I've been supporting for several years. I have one album of Wonder's, and don't foresee buying another.

Rblender ,   Chicago, USA   (11.30.12)
Todah Rabah! Being here in the States, anytime I've had a chance to talk to soldiers in Zahal when in Israel, oh what a delight it's been. It usually starts out with my saying in really bad Hebrew, "can I talk to you all for a moment?" I've gotten a look combining whimsical amusement with are you friend or foe? Since I can converse in English only, I always just thank them for their sacrifices, say that the IDF is really appreciated, etc. Watching their reaction is so cute! Either they stand up straight with pride, say that they are just doing their duty or looked stunned that anyone outside of Israel even cares about them. In my memories, my warmest moments with the Israeli people have been chatting in brief moments with the soldiers. Obviously they are working but however brief the conversations it has been delightful. Real proud of them...and real protective of them too.
44. Blindness
Jordan Ariel ,   USA   (11.30.12)
Wonder's blindness appears to be not only physical, but Spiritual and Ethical as well.
45. Stevie Wonderful
Lynn Jones ,   USA   (11.30.12)
If you really believe this will cause a massive rejection and or boycott of Stevie Wonder you are delusional.
46. @Marwan #31

A nicer tizz, may be she is also an arsit.

48. Probably the same reason Obama hasn't shown
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (12.01.12)
up either. They all work for the UN now.
49. #20 Send your records to Iran
Cynthia ,   USA   (12.01.12)
Where the real war criminals arrest people for listening to Western music. The UN telling Stevie Wonder not to perform is yet another example of how the UN has evolved into a useless organization.
50. #5 - so it would seem the UNGA vote was to favor UN
William ,   Israel   (12.01.12)
Now that UNGA members voted in majority to favor a "Palestinian" State, the UN body itself feels emboldened to play anti-Israel as well. During the UN vote, Pro-"Palestinian" supporters were ferried into the hall for Abbas speech but under the advisement of the department dealing with "Palestinian" affairs, the UN building security was advised to keep out ANY pro-Israel supporters. A truly discriminatory act. Now the UN is taking the position of BDS by telling performers not to perform in Israel, a UN member State that is NOT under any sanctions. And Wonder was not to perform in disputed areas, either. Again, a clear act of discrimination.
51. #6 - the settlements are a result of....
William ,   Israel   (12.01.12)
Arabs continually ignoring UN resolutions and agreements they've made over the years, and of course, saying NO to negotiations where they have had to compromise. I see you welcome discrimination just as the UN has on this issue. You demand things that you are not willing to give to others. Hence the reason you've had nothing up till now.
52. #25 - The 9 NO votes were not votes for Israel
William ,   Israel   (12.01.12)
They were votes against the "Palestinian" way of doing things which they felt created a false direction to circumvent negotiations which is a must to a real peace. So as you can see - Israel didn't need to threaten or blackmail anyone. The "Palestinians" did it themselves. Most of their YES votes came with many conditions which aren't different from the Oslo Accords, so what did Abbas win except for the world telling him to get back to the negotiating table Arafat walked away from in 2000. Israel has dealt with worse in history and still arose stronger and more robust. I suspect now is no different, despite the saliva dripping from your chin.
53. Stevie Wonder chose to be anti-semitic, revealing a
Rivkah   (12.01.12)
character flaw that was previously hidden.
54. Records
Ron ,   OC, USA   (12.01.12)
I never did buy any of his records although I'll admit that he is pretty good at what he DID. Been a long time between hits and I suspect that it will become a lot longer, not that he needs the money. How about some Jewish artists stepping up.
55. Bring Israeli Talent
Cynthia ,   USA   (12.01.12)
Some of the best home grown international entertainers such as Boaz Mauda, Yemen Blues, Idan Raichel, Roni Dalumi, Rita, Shiri Maimon, Miri Mesika, Sarit Haddad, Eyal Golan etc. Let them shine.
56. WHO DIDN'T "SEE" THAT COMING?? WHAT A SHOCK-- NOT!!!

57. Stevie Wonder the Coward
Ezra ,   San Diego USA   (12.02.12)
The man has the character of a puppet. Many entertainment personalities have revealed their characters during the last missile attack on Israel. They are inclined to do the right thing, but are afraid of biting the hand that feeds them.
58. Threatened with Violence?
World Peace ,   Los angeles, USA   (12.02.12)
Has anyone considered that one of America's greatest iconic songwriter/entertainers was intimidated, and threatened into backing out of this private fundraiser for the IDF? That's the real question we need answered before we attack him for being something that he is unlikely not. Jewish people have been part of his life and success--in business and in health--there's more to this story, and we're not likely to get it from him if the threats were credible enough for him to back out.
59. STEVIE WONDER
ABIGAIL ,   iSRAEL   (12.02.12)
SO WHEN DOES THE UN DICTATE WHERE AND WHEN PREFORMERS CAN TAKE PART IN NON POLICTICAL ACTITIVES. STAY IN AMERICA OR AT THE UN
