It seems to be the israeli public will start changing their outlook, once Hamas gets rid of its hateful doctrine, and recognizes the State of Israel. They are bewildered because Al Fatah will deal with Israel. But all the Palestinians must deal with israel, and not just through rocket fire. But what Israel must contend with, is what it will do about the West Bank settlements.

Absolutely nothing would be worse for Israel than a deal with the P.A. It would cost us Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, defensible borders, freedom from rockets, freedom from inundation by hostile Arabs...in short, it would cost us everything. Israel needs total, resounding victory over "Palestinian" poseurs. Not another dangerous "peace treaty". Let's stop pretending we want one. Those of us who are sane do not.

Iran is currently spending hue sums on conventional weapons as well as developing nukes, will all of those conventional weapons go with the nukes? Saudi Arabia will soon have the biggest and most modern airforce in the Middle East. Before this civil war Assad was making plans to buy MIG 29s, T90 tanks and modern submarines. When Syria does eventually rearm it wont be with Soviet rubbish. We don't know which king or dictator will be next to go or who will replace them. Today we have good relations with Jordan but what if Abdullah is toppled & replaced with a radical? Both Jordan and Egypt are equipped with the same American weapons so any conventional war would be very bloody. Chemical weapons are easy enough for some future rouge state to develop but we won't have any deterrent. Peace treaties are not solutions because a treaty that can take years to negotiate can be broken anytime. The arab spring is proof we can't predict the regions future. At his peak Obama was the most anti Israel president ever then came election build up and he became our best friend. We havn't seen second term Obama yet so lets not get our hopes to high he is changed when it comes to Israel.

The very idea of a palestinian people is an invention of the PLO After the Jewish revolts the Romans renamed Judea Philisiita ( Latin for Palestine ). It was not named after a group of arabs called palestinians it was after the infamous Philistines who came from across the Mediterranean. Over the centuries the land was under the control of various empires ( never an arab state ) and a Palestinian was ANYBODY who lived in Palestine no matter what their race or religion. Its with the creation of the PLO in 1964 that the idea of a palestinian people was born and these people were arab. The arabs created this conflict with the Jews, The Balfour Declaration said nothing about a Jewish state but instead a Jewish Homeland ( an arab state with a Jewish minority ) and the zionists were delighted. The arabs were not so delighted and fighting between Jews and arabs intensified over the years and then in the late 1920s / early 30s the zionists decided nothing short of a Jewish state would be acceptable, all because arabs would not accept the Jews. In 1947 the UN partitioned mandate Palestine they proposed giving the arabs 45% + Jaffa and the rest to the Jews. Jews living within the borders of the arab state could stay there, arabs living within the borders of Israel would be allowed to remain there. Again Jews welcomed it the arabs didn't, we had a war and when it was over Israel had 78% of Palestine + Jaffa and Jerusalem which was divided between Israel & Jordan until 1967 when it was liberated. During the war by Israe about 600,000 arabs became refugees most leaving out of fear of war not they were no marched out at gunpoint. Israel did take advantage of that and not let them back but now most are dead and refugee status cannot be inherited by the next generation so right of return idea doesn't belong to anybody born after 1948. Did you know that the original name of Nablus is Shchem and it was a Jewish city, arabs came later as did the name Nablus. You arabs need to study some respectable history books, ones not written by arabs.
