34. U.S. shocked?
Ester ,   Prague Czech Rep   (12.02.12)
What did the U.S. expect from Israel after the Palestinian U.N. stunt? That the Israel government would offer to evacuate Jerusalem and leave it to Abbas? The U.S. Congress proposes to close down the Palestinian mission and cut Palestinian aid and Obama is shocked by a few more houses on ISRAEL's land?
35. America, don't be shocked. You are looking at plans of the..
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (12.02.12)
...late Mr. Yitzhaq Rabin that have not been yet implemented. And, even your Secretary of State said yesterday that if Mr. Rabin had not been killed, peace would be with us. So, instead of being shocked, do read Mr. Rabin's speech at the Knesset - his last one, incidentally - of 5 October 1995 and begin to appreciate what people on the right, left and center have in mind when it comes to an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew.
36. And how about this? Genesis 13-14/18
Moragh   (12.02.12)
Genesis 13. vs. 14 - 17 And the Lord said to Abraham, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are - northward, southward, eastward, and westward; vs 15; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendents forever. 16; "And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 "Arise, walk in the land through the length and its width, for I give it to you. Then Abraham moved his tent and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an alter there to the Lord. Now arabs, put that in your pipe and smoke it !!!!!!!!!

45. So what?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.02.12)
Israel does not have to provide advance notice to any country about anything. That's one of the advantages of being a sovereign state. Moreover, the United States did not vote "No" out of a deep abiding love for Israel. They voted "No" because the move by the ersatz "Palestinians" simply put an end to direct negotiations. Israel will continue to build, and Israel will revoke the work permits of ersatz "Palestinians." The unemployment rate in the ersatz "Palestine" Authority is already a staggering 40 percent, and it is about to get worse. Israel will also annex Judea and Samaria, and repatriate all the Jordanians living therein to Jordan. Direct negotiations are over; the possibility was crippled by the endless list of demands and preconditions issued by the ersatz "Palestine" Authority and the vote on Thursday assured their end. Israel has all the hole cards, now. It will be interesting to see where the ersatz "Palestinans" plan to build their state. There's always Gaza, of course, once the dust settles after the civil insurrection. But that's not Israel's problem, except to make sure that the internecine ersatz "Palestinian" conflict does not spill across Gaza's border with Israel. That will be fairly easy to do. In the meantime, Judea and Samaria will need to be fully connected to Israel. Once all the ersatz "Palestinians" have gone, that will be fairly easy to accomplish. Israel can rebuild the crumbling infrastructure in the Arab parts (they never took care of anything), and Judea and Samaria, beautiful areas to be sure, will be very attractive for relatively inexpensive housing, ease of transit to Israel's major commercial centers and the absence of Arabs, ergo terrorism. The Europeans and the United States don't have to like it, but I'm sure they realized that the vote last Thursday at the United Nations was a red line for Israel. They may fuss -- some more than others; some not at all -- but that will be the end of it. No one is going to mass an army on behalf of a pile of terrorists. Of that, you may be certain. And even if they did, Israel will make short work of them. No -- same old, same old, except that Judea and Samaria will be relieved of its Jordanian population and Israel -- as Israel has always done -- will turn the stinking cesspools of filth that constitute the ersatz "Palestine" Authority into a delightful garden. A terrorist-free garden.
46. I don't get it!
ecr   (12.02.12)
Betlehem is in the southern part of Jerusalem. What connection does it have to Maale Adumim? Maybe Ramallah but bot Betlehem.
47. SHOCKING!
ASTRONAUT ,   ME, USA   (12.02.12)
What was SHOCKING were the hordes of LIB-O American Jews who RE-ELECTED HUSSEIN OBAMA. Surprise, folks: you sow what you reap.
48. Build-Build-Build!!!
Taz Man ,   USA   (12.02.12)
If Israel complies with the Abrahamic Covenant, God will bless them; also, if Israel, finally, decides enough-is-enough and expels (post-haste) ALL Muslims from Israeli land, from the Nile River to the Euphates River, God will bless them, even more! The Islamic religious cult is a stench in God's nostrils...and, so is that evil gold-domed edifice! God, soon, WILL remedy that and destroy any remnants of the false Moon god--guaranteed! God bless, Israel and His Jerusalem!!! A Christian Zionisy
49. In my opinion the UN should withold its approval of Palestin
Yisraella   (12.02.12)
In my opinion the UN should withold its approval of Palestine until Palestine and its Arab allies compensate Israel for all the wars and casualties and time wasted they instigated against Israel since UN 1948 resolution to give us a state.
50. no 26
(12.02.12)
any ghettos built will be given to the Palestinians? Not in a million year, Jewish lands will be ours forever. Screw the world !!!!! They can do nothing, let them try. Do not push Tiger at the corner !!!!! handle him with care
51. sounds like NYT was miffed it was not informed.
Jrebecca ,   modiin   (12.02.12)
Seriously, what did they expect? Obama already has a history of leaking information - why would we inform him? and why should we not build more now?
52. Abbas said he'd get straight back to peace talks
Jrebecca ,   modiin   (12.02.12)
if he won the UN vote. I have not heard from him, so life goes on in Israel, and we need more space. There is nothing there. After all the millenia of the imaginary Palestinian state, they have not used that land, so now we will.
53. #18 THERE IS NO STATE of PALESTINE
Hadassah ,   Israel   (12.02.12)
AND THERE never has been one. When the Ottoman Turks rules in this area of the middle east, it was named Palestine, In 1948, the State of Israel became a sovereign country and a full member of the United Nations. Furthermore, the 1947 partition plan was totally rejected by the Arabs, altho at the time Israelis were ready and willing to accept it. "East Jerusalem" is NOT a separate city. It seems that the Arab world only knows terror and threats in order to try to get its way.
54. Time to cut 3 billion in US tax payers money to Israel
US tax payer ,   NY USA   (12.02.12)
instead of waisting $ 3 Billion in foreign aid of US tax payers money to fund the illegal settlements the money should be spent on Americans not ultra orthadox jews who care only about real estate and dont work for a living. We have enough problems of our own without paying the Israeli goverment to build houses for the ultra orthadox.
55. #50
(12.02.12)
One day soon, the world will react, especially when Israel is taken and prosecuted at the ICC. There are also jews living in the diaspora too, you know, in the real world. Maybe they would be safer in the illegal settlements?
56. #14 Shwarma, that's what I call putting lipsick on a pig.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (12.02.12)
The reason Sinai and Gaza were evacuated was so that Judea and Samaria wouldn't have to be. Gaza you can keep, but if Morsi sneezes the wrong way, Israelis will once again be using Sharm el Sheikh as their main vacation spot destination....LOLLLL

59. #14
Steve   (12.02.12)
In the unlikely event that Israel must vacate, it would not be too long before your buddies pull up in their ox carts and destroy millions of dollars worth of homes to salvage $370 worth of copper plumbing. Turning gold into rubble is the Palestinian way.
60. it is clear
bill ,   canada   (12.02.12)
