1. Some digits.
Jules   (12.06.12)
Israel has the territory of 22000 sq. km. The Arab states in 1948 confiscated 104000 sq.km of land that belonged to the Jews who had been expelled from there. Therefore the Arabs owe to the Jews 82 000 sq.km of land. The time to repay the debt has come.
2. PPalestinaian leaders must recognize that
Jrebecca ,   modiin   (12.06.12)
Palestinians' upgraded UN status also presents opportunity to resume peace talks - after all they are the ones who persuaded the UN nations by saying that if they win the vote they will IMMEDIATELY return to negotiations. But then they are not known for keeping to their word.
3. This is the MOST IDIOTIC opinion, I have
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (12.06.12)
heared in my entire life...MERCY!!!!!!!
4. Seize the opportunity.
Stan Marsh ,   South Park, USA   (12.06.12)
To annex Judea and Samara permanently
5. Israel must listen to the international communty
Dave from Brazil ,   Sao Paulo   (12.06.12)
It must immediately stop ignoring it like a spoiled child or it will face consequences from it! Stop building where you are not supposed to and start negotiating!
6. The article avoids the facts on the ground.
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (12.06.12)
Abbas doesn't want Jews in his new Palestine and there's no way to move them out of the West Bank. Israel is nowhere near capable of removing all the Israelis presently living in the West Bank. 9,000 Israelis were uprooted from Gaza and it was the biggest Army operation since the Yom Kippur war and it took 10 days. Approximately 500,000 Israelis live in the West Bank, so who could evacuate them? Answer? Nobody! It's time for the media and for diplomats to start getting real on this.
7.  Constructive unilateralism
Zev ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
Wow Ami Ayalon sure knows how to spin.As a true leftist he ignores the facts and doesn't let them get in the way of his thinking.
8. Michael Redbourn
Dave from Brazil ,   Sao Paulo   (12.06.12)
This is exactly why they have to start negotiating! Personally, I think most of them will become Palestinian citizens. After all, there are nearly 2 million Arabs citizens of Israel. Completely ignoring the international community, however, is just plain wrong.
9. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.06.12)
Hate to break it to you, but Judea and Samaria are nonsovereign territory reacquired by Israel in the course of fighting a defensive war against Jordan. The land is Israel's to settle, retain and even annex. There's no point to negotiations -- the ersatz "Palestinians" rendered negotiations moot on November 29th, for one thing, and their idea of "negotiations" takes the form of handing Israel a laundry list of preconditions and demands, while refusing to entertain any Israeli requests. They seem to forget that they are a vanquished "people," and have about the same right to present demands as Germany did following World War II -- which is to say, no right at all. There is nothing to negotiate, and Israel should not accommodate a terrorist rabble bent on her destruction.
10. When israel talks peace, more Palestine land is stolen by
World sees   (12.06.12)
"israelis". The only solution to israeli's greed is complete international isolation.
11. Leftists like Ayalon have a death wish for Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
There is no rational way of accounting for the likes of Ayalon. They always urge Israel to concede to the "Palestinians", despite their clear, open intent to mass murder us and drive us from our sole tiny Homeland. Leftists, like Ayalon, have a death wish for Israel. There is no other explanation for their lunacy.
12. When did the UN get the power to determine boundaries?
Sidney ,   USA   (12.06.12)
Will China and Japan tolerate it on their dispute? Will Russia give independence to Chechnya, a rather recent conquest? How about Turkey recognizing Kurdistan? The UN always beats up on Israel in ways it would not do to any other country. Reminds one of the fate of Jews in Europe in the last thousand years. And why must Israel always make concessions while the Palestinians just say more? What did the UN do in 1967 when Nasser and company threatened to destroy Israel? I remember the Russian ambassador saying "Crisis, what crisis?" Israel was created so Jews would not have to live "on the kindness of strangers". By their history, few countries and certainly not the UN have any right to criticize Israel.
13. Practical one
Jimi ,   Palestine   (12.06.12)
I think only proceeding in this direction will lead to a solution. We arabs behaved the same way israel is behaving since 20 years for now...rejected all decisions and missed all chances...and israeli's are doing the same thing now. We thought that we have the right and we should not compromise and today Israelis are following the same path.... Either two states today or one state for all of us arabs and jews TODAY it is in your hands ..rejecting the two states is deciding the one state that will never have the jews as majority
14. I forgot to add
Ami Yalon ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
Not only is tge UN measure a good move for Israel. The positive attitudes directed at a Jewish State for Jewish Peoples was acknowledged. We should know that the Palestinians are a worthy peace partner. And this is all good for the world.
15. More lunacy from a leading leftist lunatic.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
Ami Ayalon says we should reward the terrorist P.A.'s trashing of Oslo by giving it our land! This is too dumb and mindless to merit debate in an adult forum. It is more lunacy from a leading leftist lunatic.
16. #5. Judea & Samaria legally belong to Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.06.12)
Moreover, we have no more to say to the P.A. terrorists than America has to say to Al Quaeda.
17. What's to negotiate?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.06.12)
The Arabs have violated every single line of every single agreement they have ever signed. They have done nothing but lie and commit terrorism. They are illegal colonists that are attempting to steal our tiny tiny chuck of land - time to deport them as they belong elsewhere
18. Abbas may be a great guy but...
Josh ,   Jerusalem   (12.06.12)
he's going to be gone sooner than later. Then what? Another Hamas takeover just like in Gaza. The Iranian backed annihilationists will be sitting on top of Jerusalem. The Iranians and their proxies will have every reason to believe that they are winning the war to destroy the Jewish State. That is an unacceptable situation. And it will come to pass unless we put a stop to capitulation as Ayalon would have us do. When the Iranians admit defeat and stop trying to eliminate us then we can talk about a state for the Palestinians. In the meantime we must build and build and then build some more.
19. Well said!
Cohen,Israel   (12.06.12)
20. What future do Israelis want?
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (12.07.12)
Some HARD FACTS that Israelis need to digest. - The non-Jews in the WB are NOT GOING ANYWHERE. NOT to Jordan, NOT to the US, NOT to Egypt, NOT to any other place on earth. They are staying right where they are no matter how much you delusionally wish otherwise. - There are ONLY THREE possible long term outcomes ... (1) DIVIDE the land west of the Jordan River fairly (almost impossible now). (2) SHARE the land west of the Jordan River equally and fairly (leading to a Muslim majority and a large Jewish minority) (3) MASSIVE WAR where one side completely ethnically cleanses the other side from the entire area (lots of dead humans and Israel will probably lose). There are NO OTHER long term outcomes possible, based on 10000 years of humans behavior and rational game theory. So what is your choice?
21. #18. Abbas a Holocaust denying terrorist.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.07.12)
Abbas is only a "great" guy if your definition of "great" means a Holocaust denying terrorist.
22. #20. Israel needs "Palestinian" poseurs to leave.
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.07.12)
#20. What Israel really needs is for the hostile "Palestinian"poseurs to leave our tiny land forever. And Israel is very capable of accomplishing this. Hopefully through peaceful means.
23. To # 3 OK wise guy so how would you solve this problem
Stan ,   Israel   (12.07.12)
for the good of us Israelis?
24. To # 4 You really don't have a clue
Stan ,   Israel   (12.07.12)
Bibi has had almost 4 years as P.M.with a very strong coalition. He could do as he wished and have a majority in parliament. Israel is not Russia, China , or the USA. There are limits to what global consensus will allow, and even the USA will not veto harsh sanctions against Israel if Bibi would do what you suggest.
25. To # 5 Well said !
Stan Israel   (12.07.12)
Your Posts are always sensible . Bravo
26. To No. 22
Bertram ,   London, UK   (12.08.12)
Of course the ersatz, poseur Palestinians will leave. Just ask them nicely and they will say: "We didn't realise we ere trespassing on your land. We are really, really sorry and we will leave immediately. Our humble apologies for inconveniencing you." No violence, no-one killed. Everyone lives happily ever after.
