1. ISRAEL NEEDS TO BRING BACK THE CATAPULT OF STONES.
Adam Balm ,   AMERICA THE BEAUTIUL   (12.09.12)
Israel needs to fire stones back in wholesale lots. Israel needs the catapult put back in service. It can fire thousands of stones back at the terrorist controlled rabble. Give new meaning to GAZA/WB is only a stone's throw from Israel.
2. Withdraw Your Troops From Their Country
World Citizen ,   the world   (12.09.12)
You have bombs, tanks, guided missiles, white phosphorus and machine guns. They have children throwing stones! Yet they will win. Truth and justice always triumphs. It's just a matter of time.
3. One thing for sure...Pals have plenty
Ivan ,   South Africa   (12.09.12)
of rocks to throw, definitely no shortage of rocks...
4. Magazine
Evan ,   USA   (12.09.12)
Did anyone see the soldier's machsanit (magazine) to his M16 fly away at the end of the clip, right after he slips on the ground? I believe that is what I saw...it is at 1:06/7...
5. Nobody deserves
Dave from Brazil ,   Sao Paulo   (12.09.12)
Not the soldiers being forced to patrol territory that is not theirs and having to go through this and not the Palestinians living under occupation. Just get out of there.
6. #2: Actually, this is not their country
TC   (12.09.12)
And by the way you are confusing between passivity and weakness.
7. Truth and Justice
alan ,   ohio   (12.09.12)
You are absolutely correct. The Balfour Declaration and the 1947 UN vote clearly indicate two nations side by side. Palestine never existed and therefore the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza need to relinquish their homes and move out of occupied Israel and back to Jordan where they came from in the first place. Otherwise they will live as is for the next 65 years and idiots like you cannot do anything about it!!!!!!
8. We are trapped between a 'rock' and a hard place
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.09.12)
You see, IDF patrols that area - West Bank - whether anyone likes it or not. They (cowards) throw rocks at soldiers because they know our soldiers are not allowed to shoot at them or suffer the int'l media consequences. It is so lame. Wish we could just eliminate all of them just like they want to eliminate us.
9. # 4
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.09.12)
Yes, I saw it aswell. It does look like a machsanit.
10. #2: Stones are deadly weapons
Isaac G ,   Israel   (12.09.12)
They are used in some Muslim countries to inflict capital punishment. But beyond that, Palestinians are far better armed than with only stones. Or have you deliberately blocked out the barrage of rockets on us, Israeli civilians? Or, are Israeli civilians exempt from the protection of international law?
11. IDF are only strong against settlers
Ephraim ,   Tapuah   (12.09.12)
12. World Citizen - You sre sbsolutely right
SJ ,   United Kingdom   (12.09.12)
"Truth and justice always triumphs" which is why Israel is a fantastically prosperous, diverse and advanced nation, even with its tiny population and size. Some would even go so far as to describe it as a miracle. Unfortunately, it's just a matter of time before it's warring neighbours end up destroying themselves (internally and externally) - if only their leaders could change their mind-set to one of peace and democracy, living alongside Israel and prosper. But of course if that were to occur their reason for being would cease and their (forcefully) elevated positions (and related perks) would disappear leaving them with very little - although those they purport to represent would be so much better off. If it wasn't so sad it would be laughable.
13. Locals Have Long Resisted Living Under Occupation
James   (12.09.12)
Throughout history, local populations have resisted against the forces occupying their lands. Do you expect Palestinians to sit idly by and let Israeli Occupation forces patrol their streets, conduct arbitrary arrests, and dominate their lives? Look at the methods Jews used to resist against the British forces during British Mandate Palestine. It was far worse than rock-throwing.
14. world citizen
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.09.12)
"They are children throwing stones'' Wrong, they are not children but fully grown adult men. Listen to the audio on the video to hear their voices. Children do not have deep voices.
15. rocks
brian ,   USA   (12.09.12)
If soldiers are being sent in there, they need to be able to defend themselves...rubber bullets maybe? The IDF is being made to look foolish because political leaders and international opinion are tying their hands - and the Pals know it. Just once I would like to see a spray of automatic fire from the troops. That would certainly dampen the rock throwing Pals.
16. Freedom Fighter opposing IDF invasion. The state of Palesti
BDS   (12.09.12)
has a right to protect it's land.
17. #6 - Actually, it is.
Bjorn   (12.09.12)
Israel's declaration of sovereignty supersedes all prior promises, declarations, resolutions. On the 14th May 1948, Israel became a Sovereign State within the borders proposed by UNGA Res 181. They were accepted by the Peoples Council, in order that the new Jewish State be recognized as a Sovereign State. Resolution 181 is enshrined in the Declaration of a Jewish State. Letter From the Agent of the Provisional Government of Israel to the President of the United States, May 15, 1948 “MY DEAR MR. PRESIDENT: I have the honor to notify you that the state of Israel has been proclaimed as an independent republic within frontiers approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its Resolution of November 29, 1947, and that a provisional government has been charged to assume the rights and duties of government for preserving law and order within the boundaries of Israel, for defending the state against external aggression, and for discharging the obligations of Israel to the other nations of the world in accordance with international law. The Act of Independence will become effective at one minute after six o’clock on the evening of 14 May 1948, Washington time.” Israel has never legally annexed ANY territory outside of it’s Sovereign territory. Sovereign states can only acquire further territory by legal annexation, i.e., by agreement or treaty. Unilateral annexation is not permitted, nor is territory acquired by war (offensive or defensive) or claiming armistice lines as borders when they weren’t borders before the armistice. Agreement entails a referendum which is put forth to the population of the territory as to whether they want to be annexed or not. A treaty can only be made between sovereign states. Despite the Arab States objections, Israel was recognized as a Sovereign State “within frontiers approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its Resolution of November 29, 1947“ and was accepted into the UN, before Israel tried to claim (on Aug 31st 1949) any territory “…outside of Israel.”
18. They have guns for a GOOD reason, to use them.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.09.12)
19. How shameful
David ,   On this planet   (12.09.12)
The leaders of Israel are turning their soldiers into wimps. If you are going to tie the hands of the soldiers just to save face politicly. you should go and fight your war and keep your kids safe
20. palestinian protesting
batya ,   jerusalem, israel   (12.09.12)
i live in jerusalem, and i witness daily- arabs who are residents are jerusalem throwing stones and inciting violence against israeli soldiers. the soldiers can't do anything. these aren't palestinians, but israeli citizens who are protesting and hurting our army. and the media says nothing.
21. #13 Jewish resistance
Jake   (12.09.12)
Just to remind you, it still is Jewish land. The Brits knew they were controlling a foreign land. The difference is: those IDF soldiers feel that this is their land, not a foreign land.
22. Brave boys
Mike ,   Ireland   (12.09.12)
Taking on the Israeli military Goliath! Did the soldiers run back to Israel?
23. #22 Answer to your question is in the article.
Jake   (12.09.12)
"The troops were eventually able to control and disperse the crowd." Btw Hundreds of Arabs raining down rocks vs. a handful of soldiers and border guards is not actually a "David vs. Goliath" scenario.
24. #2 It is OUR country.
Jake   (12.09.12)
25. Occupation vs Conquered
Daniel ,   TA   (12.09.12)
Under international law, an occupier is an aggressor who enters land and holds it against the will of the people. Conquered land is that which is won during a defensive war. In 1948 Jordan OCCUPIED the West Bank and split Jerusalem into two. Jordan then was an occupying force and they evicted all Jews from that land. In 1967 Jordan again readied its troops to role over the Israeli border but was defeated and land that had been occupied was retaken. One of the biggest errors of the day was allowing the Arab populace to remain in that land rather than following Jordan's precedent and evicting the peoples back to Jordan. Israel opted to let the Arab populace remain. Suddenly this liberated land was only NOW viewed as being held by occupation forces. The world is always ready to change the rules for anti-Jewish or anti-Israel issues. The time has come for Israel to just stop caring about world opinion and act to protect its citizens and soldiers. Thrown rocks, rockets, any attack against Israeli soldiers or civilians needs to be met with overwhelming force. Peace can be established via strength even with a loss of world public support (which is never there in any case). To those who see Israel as an Occupation force please recheck history.
26. Running back to israrael
Jack ,   England   (12.09.12)
Don't think so Since Israel inception the only ones to hide behind women and children are the terrorists scum Then you already knew that didn't you perhaps your one
27. TO NR. 3
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   HOORN NH, HOLLAND   (12.09.12)
ANOTHER THING FOR SURE THIS TIME THE PALS DO NOT ATTACK INNOCENT, DEFENCELESS, UN-ARMED CIVILIANS/PEOPLE, BUT ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST MORAL ARMIES ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, WHO KNOWS WHAT TO DO IN THIS CASE.
28. # 17..No 2 is right...you need to really read more...
Edithann ,   USA   (12.09.12)
Jews were not ever given a country of their own in Palestine....Read it again..WE all know you want to beleive that , but it's not true, nor will it ever be true... TATA
29. They would be justified to shoot them!
Scott ,   Haifa   (12.09.12)
Those Arabs were trying to kill them, and if one of those soldiers fell from a rock, the mob would have stoned him to death...like they killed the reservists in Ramallah..
30. That was very easy for the soldiers to shoot these
Asher ,   NY,USA   (12.09.12)
these tugs but still they left them there not to injure or get injured. It's only comes out of the nature of respecting even the life of these tugs. But unfortunately they look at it as the weakness because life to them is kill or to be killed and get the reward of 72 virgins waiting for them anxiously......That's the way they think and believe. Where in the world you can come to peace with such mentality and bloody culture?
