I wonder how much of that 930,000 euros they are going to give to the children of southern Israel, which can definitely be considered a war zone, to help rebuild the schools that were damaged, to build more shelters where needed, and to help rehabilitate the Israeli children traumitized during the last rocket attacks.

The predecessor organization to the EU, the EEC, was founded in 1958, at which point Europe was at peace for 13 years. On the other hand, the EU countries provoked a major European war, when in the early 1990's they followed the German lead in orchestrating the demise of former Yugoslavia, leading to the bloody Balkan Wars and many thousands of dead.

It is, after all, not the EU's fault that politicians in its member states, let alone the public in its member states, are lying, decieving populists and ignorants who refuse 2 recognize the truth.

EU receiving the Nobel is a joke on the same lines of giving it to Arafat, Carter, Obama, just to name a few that didn't deserve the prize either. How is the Europe peaceful, there are still problems, in Kosava, the Balkans didn't these places just have wars as close as 15 years ago? what about the NATO forces fighting in Libya, Afghanistan.... peaceful counties, I think not.,

After centuries of bloodshed they realized that a union of European states would be a powerful force, and would elevate the status of each individual European entity if achieved. To establish a similar union in the Middle East, the Arabs will have to accept Israel within its current defensible borders (still a tiny territory), which would enable Israel to take the monumental risk of joining a confederation of mostly Arab states. Of course every union is different, and a Middle Eastern Union would only work if each state maintained its unique national characteristics (similar to Europe, nothing like the United States, where states are mostly indistinguishable). A Middle Eastern Union would allow Jews & Arabs to cease paying homage to the US, EU, China & Russia, who have never had their best interests in mind. Hopefully it wont take centuries of conflict for Middle Eastern leaders to recognize this wonderful possibility. In my own lifetime I wish to embark on a road trip, on an 8 lane well-paved highway, from Cairo, to Jerusalem, to Baghdad without stopping at any checkpoints. "If you will it, it is no dream"
