1. Who gives more than we?
Cameron ,   USA   (12.12.12)
2. Israel needs to start making its own bombs
Vlad   (12.12.12)
It already does as a matter of fact. But it needs to gradually phase out US equipment and start relying on itself. Whose to say the United States will always be this willing to provide military aid?
3. No, thank you. Increasing help to America
Miron ,   USA   (12.12.12)
by America would be the best help Israel can dream about.
4. Thank you America, these will come in handy!
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.12.12)
Israel has no shortage of terrorist targets to strike. Israel will need even more powerful to strike Iran and I am sure the US will provide them as this serves not just the US best interests, but the world's.
5. Weapons needed by Israel
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (12.12.12)
This is good news but I wish the US would stop parceling out a bit of this and that. Turn over what is needed to counter balance that F16 sale to Egypt that was announced this morning and the busters to take out those sites in Iran should Israel decide that enough is enough already.
6. Israel needs TUNNEL busting bombs, lots of them.

8. He forgot to mention..
John ,   Hamilton, ON   (12.12.12)
However, he was quick to add that the weapons are "Not suitable for the really deep underground facilities," but rather for command posts, shelters and air defense facilities. He forgot to mention that they work really good on civilian homes, government facilities and hospitals.
9. @4 grab your tomer and head East, Chaim.
Miron ,   USA   (12.12.12)
Israel will not attack Iran no matter who says what. What part of it you do not understand?

yes we build much materiel but do not have the industrial base to supply every need. the cost experience of building upon the mirage-kefir an example in point. germans build submarines for us. surprisingly to some the democratic administrations have been much more in partnership with us. Eisenhower, Nixon, the Bush's all for different reasons ranging from oil to geo-politics to anti-semitism all either withheld aid(Eisenhower) needed prodding(Nixon) or were pushed by democrats(Bush). Trust is not easy for us, eh, but reality requires reason.
12. Working both sides
ASTRONAUT ,   ME, USA   (12.12.12)
Bunker Busters to our ally Israel - while Obama gifts Morsi Muslim Bro'hood with 20 more F-16's. Get off the fence, Mr. Obama. Man up and stand with our ONLY ally in the Middle East: Israel.
13. In year 2005 Israel bought 500 Bunker Busters
Joe Harkins ,   New York USA   (12.12.12)
From the USA and they were delivered that year. Did the IAF use them already ?

Vlad   (12.12.12)
True, but building bombs is a whole other thing from fighter jets or submarines. Israel actually already builds its own bombs, to a limited extent. The best thing to do would be to gradually build up a huge stockpile, doing it at the pace of Israel's capabilities, and keep adding to it steadily.
15. Also #11
Vlad   (12.12.12)
Israel developed the IAI Lavi. It can certainly develop a fighter jet. Churning out a lot of them would be a problem, which is why they can be developed jointly with either the US, Russia, or China, countries with extensive experience in this. These fighter jets can then be equipped with Israeli-made spare parts and weaponry, so that Israel isn't dependent on outside sources to keep them in the air.

NYC Girl   (12.12.12)
Presumably those civilian homes, government facilities and hospitals would be the ones used by Hamas as weapons caches and where they keep their supply of human shields. And they're probably the same ones where the IDF drops all those leaflets warning people to evacuate prior to any military activity. In fact, maybe if the terrorists who attacked my country on 9/11 had had the decency to drop leaflets warning all those people going to work in the Twin Towers to evacuate before the planes hit, there would be more than 3,000 Americans who wouldn't have been incinerated that day.
19. God Bless the IDF and Israel
mafwestpac ,   Barstow USA   (12.12.12)
I love to see America do business with our good friends. In the final analysis - All our military might is also Israels and vice versa.
20. Next, Obama will send reenforced concrete
A ,   Belgium   (12.12.12)
and thicker rebars to Gaza, so they can build better bunkers to hide their brave leaders in.
21. compassionate leaflets, NYC Girl?
Cameron ,   USA   (12.12.12)
Hmmm Consider the last ridiculous Gaza rocket war, and it's final outcome, in the context of trying to wage virtuous PC warfare. There will be no decisive victories for Israel lurching into battle with one arm tied behind it's back by holding to such tactics.
22. Obama doing nothing to help....
Robert ,   Australia   (12.12.12)
Israel. If Israel uses them on Iran it will be true.

25. Israel needs 15 ton bunker busters
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.12.12)
I do not think the US will announce when they give them to Israel as they will be delivered to Iran.
26. #1 - why do you think the US gives Israel military aid?
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (12.12.12)
27. #15 no need for fighter jet
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (12.12.12)
The beauty of it is that no one wants fighter jets anymore. The F-35 is already obsolete. The future is combat UAVs, and guess which country, in addition to the US, leads in that field?
28. The business of wars and arms is business
big bad Jew ,   United States   (12.12.12)
notice how the US sells, distributes, furnishes, supplies, re-supplies, arms weaponry and is in competition with Russia, China, etc.? It's the money first of sales and, the power behind them that represents the 'balance of power, whether sales are to our allies or, those of questionable intent.
29. Bomb re-supply
Get Real ,   UK   (12.12.12)
Such quantity may not have been necessary had Israel been allowed to have finished POD and to have been assured that arms smuggling to Hamas would cease. But anyway they maybe necessary to counter the growth of weaponary being acquired by Hezbollah.Either way they will be most useful to have immediately available if hostilities do resume. As for Iran, that's anoher matter.
30. #27- Which country leads in that field?
Get Real ,   UK   (12.12.12)
Based on their propaganda-Iran?
