Jews lived in pre-state Hebron, Jerusalem etc. These are Homes. And there were Jews in homes there before the state of Israel. The problem has been Israel's terminology around "settling the land" which has Biblical connotation. They are no more 'settling' Israel than Americans are settling the American midwest. Also - most Arabs that currently live in Israel, WB or Gaza - are not indegenous. Many of them are Egyptian, as denoted by their last names "Masri" etc. Yassar Arafat himself was born in Egypt.
