1. Let them stay
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.13.12)
This child is an Israeli in my eyes, and if they want to live in Israel then let them. We as Jews must be more sensitive to deporting people, as Jews have been deported throughout history. What's the harm in letting this child and the Mom stay?
2. Insane
Ron ,   OC, US   (12.13.12)
Israeli immigration services are about as useful as our own INS-totally useless. Israel can't seem to get rid on 65,000 African/Moslems but spends time, money and energy on this kid???????
3. this is what we waste our
frank ,   rehovot   (12.13.12)
tax money on? with the +65,000 illigals from africa, causing problems, theiving, raping, a blatent drain on our society, those we ignore, and concentrate on this? What the hell is wrong with us?
4. No Wonder Some People Hate Israel
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (12.13.12)
5. Better Idea, deport Eli Yishai instead
Haim ,   TA   (12.13.12)
6. This has to stop
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (12.13.12)
This obscene xenophobically motivated prejudicial harassment has to stop immediately. Presumably this absurdity has something to do with the mother's religious "status" which is itself an unacceptable criterion for deportation in 21st century Europe. What exactly do they mean by "entering the country illegally"? Poland is in the EU - therefore its citizens don't even require a visa to enter Israel. What's the problem exactly? Complete insanity.
7. Right on #2. Deport the REAL illegals who roam the streets
DISGUSTED ISRAELI ,   Tel Aviv   (12.13.12)
Deport the real illegals who roam the streets of Tel Aviv, committing crimes and scaring the local population. The woman is here 20 years and the 9-year old is an Israeli. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you. What a waste of money and time. I am totally disgusted that this is how my country acts. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. She is obviously a contributing, working member of Israeli society and the 9-year old IS an Israeli. She WANTS to be here. She has been here 20 years. But in your heads it is better to send her back to anti-Semitic Poland!!! You are IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!
8. I see the prejudiced hand of Eli Yishai...
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (12.13.12)
In this kind of behavior. What could be lost by letting them remain until the court's final decision? On the other hand, objectively, since the child has been kept apart from his biological father (do we know if the boy ever even met his biological father?), it wouldn't make sense to deport the mother, who is an illegal alien, and transfer the boy to the father's custody. Personally, I think the court shoudl examine what kind of life the boy would have if he's deported together with his mother back to Poland, compared to the life he would have here with her. IF the projected future of the boy would be better if he remains here (with his mother), then that's what the court should decide. Ordinarily, I wouldn't support rewarding an illegal alien who had a child she planned to use as an anchor, but the non-participation of the biological father in the boy's life makes me wonder what else we don't know... and what other information this article doesn't give us.
9. Outrageous
Michael ,   Kokhav Ya'ir, Israel   (12.13.12)
The boy is certainly entitled to the Law of Return and being that he is entitled so is his mother. The Supreme Court needs a Constitution to guide it. Anything at all could dribble out of their mouths.
10. We only have partial facts of this case
Israeli grandma   (12.13.12)
What puzzles me is how this Polish lady repeatedly entered and left Israel during 20 years when such a fuss is made about proper documents at the airports. Could she have been coming through Jordan's Allenby Bridge border and paying baksheesh? Think about it before condemning our immigration officials. Its a major headache just to expel the 100's of illegal African infiltrators, who regularly deliberately destroy their identity documents. Of course its long overdue that this social problem was cleared up.
11. HaShem will hold the father of the child responsible
Rivkah   (12.13.12)
for providing for the child. Where is the f ather? Who is the father? Were the child and the mother abandoned by the father from the beginning? Is the child a mamser? There is a grave warning in Scriptures, "If any provide not for his own, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." Such fathers should be deported or imprisoned for crimes against the mother and child. There is no place in HaShem's Kingdom for such vile males. Such males bring judgment on a nation. The family is the building block of the nation and runaway fathers are an abomination. What a detestible piece of slime that male is. He is not worthy of the name Man. His fate unless he steps up to the plate and provides for his child and protests the deportation of an Israeli citizen as well as providing for the child is eternal separation from HaShem.
12. if all you have to do is get pregnant to someone in order
jack bauer   (12.13.12)
stay... what does that tell us? If she was married to an israeli there would be no issue. All infiltrators should be deported, not just some women from poland. If she followed the rules she wouldnt have a problem. And how many warnings is enough?
13. They should enjoy Poland
big bad Jew ,   United States   (12.13.12)
it's a nice country if you don't mind the majority being anti semitic and still making a profit from the concentration camps.
14. #1 The mom isn't Jewish
big bad Jew ,   United States   (12.13.12)
and the father is absent. The child is not Jewish or Israeli as the mother is an illegal. She is a citizen of Poland who hates Jews., I believe the son is also a citizen of Poland, by the law. Sad for the boy but, the Mom had 20 years to 'clean up' her papers and didn't.
15. #9 The mother is not a Jew nor is she legally permitted to
big bad Jew ,   United States   (12.13.12)
remain in Israel. How does the law of return apply if neither the mother or child is Jewish? She's a illegal Pole whose being required by law the 'right to return' home to Poland. Or, would you have Israel filled with Polish moms and their kids with no fathers? ( or, any other non Jews for that matter, where do THEY earn the right to return other than back to where they came from?)
16. The desperation of the Israeli state is evident
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/london   (12.13.12)
as the idea of having an exclusively 'Jewish' State is increasingly stymied by the fact that the majority of the world's jews have chosen not to live there. If an Israeli child can be deported despite having an Israeli father, nobody in Israel is safe. They will start deporting political opponents next
17. Idiots
Meir ,   London   (12.13.12)
Rivkah, you are a feminist male-hating nutcase, disguising her hatred with biblical references to sound pompous. Big bad Jew:you are not only a self-righteous cretin, but also ignorant! You seem not to know that the law of return applies rightfully to the boy because he has a Jewish father but you are oh so sure that the mom,who lived in Israel for 20 years, hates Jews.Moron.
18. This is Racist...
Avi ,   Netanya   (12.13.12)
Israel -You lived here how long? Mother -20 years Israel - ok, and you have an Israeli Child? Mother - Yes, Israel - that's great! Isreal - he has Israeli friends, speaks hebrew and goes to school here? Mother - Yes Israel - that's great, how lovely, Israel - and one more question, its a stupid question but I need to ask, you know, following procedure etc... Israel - so you're Jewish right? Mother - no Israel - .......... Israel - hello, is that El AL.....
19. reply
mike ,   gdansk, poland   (12.13.12)
How come are we making profits cause of concentration camps?
20. #14 Dear big bad Jew
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.13.12)
If I posted that all Jews were like Bernie Madoff I think you would rightfully take offence. As a secular Zionist Jew living in Poland for the last 9 years, I can tell you that about a third of Poles are anti-Semitic... not all...so why tar everyone here with the same brush? Just sayin'... Shoilem and Happy Channuka
21. I am so fed up with this country!
Sarah ,   Rehovot   (12.13.12)
Filled with racists, disrespectful people and well, just so sick of hearing about things like this. if they've survived here for over 20+ years and if they want to be here, let them stay! The more the merrier.
22. Israel the Light unto the Nations
Robert Barns ,   London , UK   (12.13.12)
Well it seems that the Light is switched off. Let the people stay , the mother has been living there in Israel for more than 20 years and she gave birth and brought up a child in Israel. She has proved that she can take care of herself and her child. Israelis show your generosity , don't pass on the message that you are heartless. Let mother and child live in peace in Israel. Amen.
23. deport all foreigners.
michaelpielet ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
Israel home of the Jews or the poles.
24. Crazy responses. She has violated the law.
Allan ,   USA   (12.13.12)
Needs to be deported.
25. Good choice
Yochanan ,   Y'layim   (12.13.12)
Most comments here are selfdestructive minded. Suuuuure let everyone enter our country. Even being present here for two decades, the mom's responsible for this. Please let NOT create a situation where we have to worry about intermarriage and assimilation. Which would be possible for the long run if we allow situations like this over and over again.
26. The mom wasn't Jewish
Jerry (Ysrael) ,   Malmö   (12.13.12)
My mother was decorated by Yad Vashem for saving Jews in Poland, but her son was discriminated as a GOJ, I didn't speak Yiddish. .. That was in the seventies, today it's the same story. Shame on the ultra orthodox Muhlahs... I don't understand way I'm still pro-Israeli...
27. Had she done to the US the same she would have been
Dan ,   USA   (12.13.12)
kicked out many years ago but crazy ultra leftist Israel has lost its moral compass defending illegals and criminals.
28. Child is not a Jew
Chris ,   Austria   (12.13.12)
LOL .... What' s a problem with antisemitism in Poland for Christian morther and her child? Austria deported family with children who were born here also, if parents don't satisfy criteria to stay. Israel is a small country and can't live with open doors. Even USA, Canada and Australia don't do it. Poland is EU country and woman can live in other 26 if her native one is bad for her.
29. Answer to #15
Michael ,   Kokhav Ya'ir, Israel   (12.13.12)
The law of return allows anyone with a Jewish grandparent who has not converted to another religion to come to Israel.
30. We'll believe it when we see it,,, post it on YouTube for us
Yuval ,   Country   (12.13.12)
What,,,,,,, what, Israel are you trying to show us you are liberal and a democratic country, if this case thousands of these Euros in Israel will be packing their bags.
