31. Someone playing with fire probably also know can hatchway
shilomi ,   ISRAEL   (12.13.12)
32. PA may have done so but it's partner Hamas is at war
don   (12.13.12)
with Israel and it's charter demands Israel's destruction. So recognition is not really the issue.
33. ok...Sorry for my typo.
Salma ,   State of Palestine   (12.13.12)
Palestinians will NEVER EVER recognize "Israel".
34. Dirty scoudrel, a born liar
Samuel ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
If so, why then in the childrens school text page, shows the whole of Palestine instead of the whole of Israel
35. Hamas Recognizes Israel . . . As a Target!
emanon ,   USA   (12.13.12)
Actions speak louder than words. If Hamas recognizes Israel with peaceful intentions let him prove it by disarming Hamas!
36. What kind of joke Abbas is doing?
Cisco ,   France   (12.13.12)
I mean we are all seeing the current reconciliation process between Hamas and Fatah. What does it mean? Well first, Hamas allowed Fatah members to join the big "peaceful" celebration in Gaza. Moreover, PA has just allowed in return Hamas to celebrate its anniversary in WB. Then, PA security forces have clearly received orders from Ramallah not to prevent clashes between IDF and Palestinians groups in WB. Yesterday was a merely example! Sorry but Abbas' speech about this alleged Meshaal's true position, I don't buy it!
37. Alas, Abbas isn't such a great fool after all
Me   (12.13.12)
Too bad Mashaal is.
38. Right of Return
Dan ,   BOSTON, USA   (12.13.12)
Rather cute to see jews claim the right of return after 2000 years, then deny it to arabs after less than 70 years..
39. "Abbas criticizes", but only IN ENGLISH in response to a...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (12.13.12)
...reporter's question!! Abbas, for some reason, can't bring himself to state in Arabic, his native tongue and with which he communicates with his people, the Arabs, that he accepts Israel's right to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people. Is he attempting to fool the rest of the world, again, by saying things in English, but when it comes to saying things in public, in Arabic, he doesn't do so because he simply doesn't accept Israel's right...??!!
40. One state for all
Deb ,   Usa   (12.13.12)
The only practical solution if you continue to claim being the only democracy in the area is One state for all
41. Two state solution: Hamastan & Plishtina! Does Dr.Abu Adolf
tom ,   tel aviv   (12.13.12)
Mazen think anyone (except Meretz & various Israeli Lunatic Leftists, Amos Oz anyone?) will fall for this good-cop bad-cop routine?! On the other hand: one can hardly blame him, it worked like charm in the past.....
42. Okay - now next civil war between WB and Gaza !
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (12.13.12)
43. .It's too bad Abbas has no one to talk to
Eitan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (12.13.12)
Bibi must be replaced
44. what "palestine"?
YE ,   Canada   (12.13.12)
funny....all of us commenting here will NEVER get to see a "palestine"...there was never one, and there will never be one...I think we are wasting our time talking about a non existent fantasy...do we talk this much about "Mordor" for example? No... let's just stop ...you won't ever see a real Mordor the same way you will never see a "palestine"....
45. Dan # 38
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (12.13.12)
The Jews didn't leave by choice. The ersatz Palestinians left in 1948 because their leaders told them to get out of the way so that the Jews could be pushed into the sea when Israel's neighbors all attacked her. They thought they would be able to come back and have it all. That didn't happen and to this day they keep making poor choices and expect to get rewarded for it. I don't think there is anything cute about that. The Jews claim to the land is legitimate while the "Palestinians" are an invented people. Arafat is a good example of the lie people are swallowing, he was an Egyptian.
46. @ Salma #33
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (12.13.12)
That wasn't a typo, kid. ("Palestinian people will never recolonize "Israel" , NEVER".) Recolonize??? You just exposed yourself as a Zionist agent pretending to be a fanatic Palestinian radical. Nice try, but evidently you are quite useless. Never mind. Hamas will find you and throw you off a roof.
47. Yeah? Show us the map that hangs in your schools.
SG ,   Teaneck   (12.13.12)
Where's Israel?
48. "We recognize Israel" but what do you say in Arabic?
David ,   Karmiel   (12.13.12)
"Jew Free" Palestine from the sea to the Jordan River. That's what "recognize Israel" means in Arabic!
49. To # 10 @Michael Schmidt
Abe ,   Palestine   (12.13.12)
You would have looked more consistent to me if you directed your criticism to Salma and to other talkbackers from the other side who are offering same comments but to different audience. Double standard is the core of the issue in this ever lasting conflict...
50. Mr Abbas get real
Rozie   (12.13.12)
You LIE, LIE AND LIE. Lying about everthing for years does not turn it into truth. Amazing how he has the nerve to do so. I guess the lying of all these years turned him into a muti-millionaire.
51. #38 Dan - how about you first
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.13.12)
After the American Revolution the US stripped nearly 10% of the US population of all properties and citizenship and then deported them. How many of them were ever allowed to return? The answer is zero. These are not returning citizens - they were never citizens and over 95% of the them have never been on our land ever.
52.  We already recognized Israel
JON ,   UK   (12.13.12)
abbas should arrange for world media like he does on other matters and say We recognized Israel as a jewish state in english and ARABIC will he?
53. PLO only recognized Government of Israel as negotiating
Jake   (12.13.12)
partner, never the State of Israel as a sovereign territorial entity, let alone as a Jewish State. Changes to PLO charter calling for Israel's destruction have never been formally ratified. Fatah and Hamas charters are also commited to Israel's destruction.
54. Turkish President forgot that he blamed
Abu Yousuf el Dugri   (12.13.12)
Israel for the failure of the Turkish peace negotiations between Israel and Asad of Syria, they forgot that shame.
55. Turkish foolish foreign policy
Abuya   (12.13.12)
By adopting one sided policy against Israel they had a wish they will have more influence in the Arab world. Grave mistake. They will loose on both sides.
56. Why not a 3-state solution?
Sarah ,   US   (12.13.12)
Hamas and the PA obviously have very differenct ways of looking at the world. As was mentioned by some recently - I think on this site, but I don't remember who - a three-state solution would work. Let Hamas go its own hostile way, and let Abbas go ahead with a separate moderate West Bank state. Once the West Bank has a functioning Palestinian state it will put pressure on Hamas to compromise. I doubt if Abbas would hold out to include Gaza - they've done nothing but make his life harder.
57. #33 - you don't recognize us?
William ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
We're the natives of the land that keep kicking your asses in terror wars you begin. Recognize us now?
58. #42 - Hamas already proved they can send rockets to WB
William ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
59. #43 - probably because Bibi is sitting at the table
William ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
while Abbas is flying around the world giving interviews.
60. #49 - "Double standard is the core of the issue..."
William ,   Israel   (12.13.12)
"Double standard is the core of the issue in this ever lasting conflict." So is the involvement of foreigners with an agenda. Abe isn't a "Palestinian" name and ISM isn't a innocent NGO. Get lost.
