1. Pre-conditions
alan ,   ohio   (12.13.12)
This guy must be nuts...what part of no doesn't he understand. Build throughout the Jewish homeland=Judea and Samaria. If the PALS misbehave send them home to Jordan/Palestine.
2. How many homes built while Abbas waits for them to stop?
Sam ,   Canada   (12.13.12)
3. abbas demands surrender then talks
art ,   jersey city nj USA   (12.13.12)
abbas still demands total Israeli surrender as cost of talks. If Israel concedes what is left to negotiate?? Tel Aviv? Eilat, Israeli embassies aboard? Once again abbas plays the phoney peace offer. Also why should Israel be bound by the failed olmert talks, rejected by abbas? Times have changed maybe abbas/pa missed its chance
4. In other words Abass wants
Randolph ,   L A, CA, USA   (12.13.12)
everything his way , The talks with olmert ended with no agreement. Abass agreed to nothing and after many years he needs to realize his own responsibility for his not making any agreement with and that he rejected Olmert's offer by refusing to agree. There is no continuation of failed talks from 4 years ago as if it were next day. Abass needs to offer to stop building in PA area if he wants Israel to stop. There are no '67 borders per Arab demand. Israel must from yesterday build more, faster and all over including E1
5. For the 5000000th time, NO!
DavidR ,   USA   (12.13.12)
What part of NO do you people not understand. Construction will continue! No 1967 lines! No preconditions! Let the puppet king mind his own business and let abbas continue his weeping.
6. Sure, Mr. Abduallah. Return Gush Katiff.
Miron ,   USA   (12.13.12)
Apartheid demands against Israel will be dropped or we will be building in Mecca.
7. pre-conditions
John ,   Netherlands   (12.13.12)
no problem I think, but what do they offer if they ask a settlement halt? Israel can set preconditions too: e.g. recognition of a souverain Jewish state, without any return of Palestinian refugees.
8. There is no "settlement" building
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (12.13.12)
We're building homes on our land, not "settlements". It's high time we did this. It's obvious that the "palestinians" don't want peace and we need to move on with our lives as the Jewish people & stop apologizing for having our own country.
9. Why don't Israel just annex Judea and Samaria?
Jouko ,   Finland   (12.13.12)
Playing football with Abbas-team is tiresome-it doesn't lead anywhere!!!! On the other side uncompromising Abbas is the surest guarantee that the land of Israel will not be divided. Olmert was removed from power just in time!
10. Abbas is the best guarantee that landof Israel isn't divided
Jouko ,   Finland   (12.13.12)
11. Talahoon abdallah kifuk?
(12.13.12)
Are You Just Changing The Subject? Two States For Two people REMEBER 1) Israel= Jewish State 2) trans-jordan= arab state Are You Trying To Not Obliged to your royal subjects?
12. You can hear just fine while the building go on. Talk!
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (12.13.12)
13. Each day he refuses to negotiate he gets wealthier
Arnold ,   Montreal-Canada   (12.13.12)
The time will come soon that his coffers will be full beyond his wildest dreams. At that point he will resign in luxury. Unless he gets forced out sooner by Hamas. Then he will just be a very rich man. Either way he is set for his retirement. I wonder where it will be. the ME or Europe.
14. It Is Urban Expansion Not Settlements
emanon ,   USA   (12.13.12)
Once again, the arabs want to reduce everything to the lowest level. Urban expansion is the sign of a healthy growing economy and population. It means the Israeli population is growing and they have the financial means to build more houses to accommodate their people. Why should the Jews lived crammed in tiny spaces just because arab leaders squandered money for housing on hatred campaigns, munitions and arms? The arabs too could have beeen building homes instead of bombs, but apparently that's not their way. They love death more than life, so they exist to kill.
15. Build, Baby, Build!!
emanon ,   USA   (12.13.12)
16. If Abbas wants peace he'll talk, if he doesn't he will
Alex   (12.13.12)
continue nagging on settlements. Netanyahu froze them 2 years ago for talks, but what happened. Nothing.
17. King Abdullah II
Son Of Cyrus ,   UK   (12.13.12)
The good king will do well to realize the following and explain it fully to Mr Abbas: 1) Gaza is part of Egypt. 2) Judea and Samaria are part of Israel with Jerusalem as its eternal and undivided capital. 3) Areas under Mr Abbas's control and Jordan are one country and it is a matter between the king and Mr Abbas if they wish to change the name to Palestine and have Mr Abbas server as prime minister to help the king achieve democracy. Have a nice day one and all!
18. Settlement construction WILL stop.....
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (12.13.12)
...when construction is complete. I hope that Abbas lives long enough to see it so that he'll realize what a fool he is. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
19. Israel must deliver peace and security to its citizens.
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.13.12)
That's absolute for survival, along with preservation of democracy. Not territorial expansion, not religion, not hegemony of any sort. Just peace and security to guarantee long-term survival of the country.
20. what a bald-faced liar
Mira ,   NYC   (12.14.12)
Prior to the UN vote, Abbas stated that he would negotiate if he won that vote. well, he won it. Now he comes up with preconditions. When Israel halted settlement construction for ten months, where was Abbas? Nowhere to be found. he will always have some excuse. What a bald-faced liar.
21. Stupid Abbas...
Marco ,   Spain   (12.14.12)
Israel must not stop settlement construction. Israel must dismantle ALL settlements built already...
22. #21 and then what?
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (12.14.12)
get more rockets? None of the Arabs want peace. These are all excuses. Arabs kill and we build instead. WB was captured from Jordan and it will go back to Jordan. Israel did not fight Palestine. Israel fought Jordan, Egypt and Syria. Take that cotton balls out of your ears & listen to the truth. Palestine myth is a failure of wars of Arabs with us.
23. Lets examine the alternative option
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.14.12)
I for one have ZERO expectation of a Hamas Fatah Unity EVER Whist we may all be Palestinian the political and ideological gulf is completely IRRECONCILABLE Hamas are to all intents and purposes a little despotic tin pot fundametalist Muslim dictatorship whose elite are in total control. Contrast that with East Palestine where despite our occupation we manage to keep and value our freedoms our open way of life Thats why we should say to ourselves if we are reluctant to go it alone in the West Bank we should be federated with Jordan. Where much like the UK Model as East Palestine there would be a separate parliament, a separate identity, a separate flag, a separate first minister yet unified under the United Kingdom of Jordan
