1. Sad to see him go
Salim ,   Canada   (12.14.12)
Even though he did the right thing by resigning, he wil be greatly missed. He brought a sense of pride in being Jewish and Israeli to the Foreign ministry. I hope that his eventual successor will be just as unambiguously direct with our enemies and traitorous "friends".
2. The bouncer is bounced.
Ahmet ,   Istanbul, Turkeyl   (12.14.12)
Good for world peace.
3. My shekels on Mr. Lieberman coming back as Defense Minister!
(12.14.12)
He'll cut a deal with the Attorney General and we'll get stuck with him as Defense Minister. You'll all see.
4. So what happens to Beitanu? Is it a Bibi
DT ,   TA Israel   (12.14.12)
"takeover"?!
5. #3
nva ,   jerusalem   (12.14.12)
man, i HOPE that's what happens...not the "deal" you like to accuse, silly #3, but that he will be appointed Defense Minister. Dancing in the streets...and about time Israel gets serious. Gal-on and the Y-lady have chutzpa of the wrong kind ...THEY are the embarrassment to this Country. Ridiculous.
6. Weinstein
Joe Stein ,   USA   (12.14.12)
In my opinion Weinstein needs to investigated himself . Why is it he consistently uses his power to put pressure on Israeli politions to either retire or change policy. There has to be a reason. Using his power to influence policy rather than uphold the law is illegal in any country in my opinion. The question is why? The Israeli people needs to find out.
7. 1 down 119 to go!
Rosen ,   USA / Israel   (12.14.12)
Without a constitution, Israel's connected oligarchs and fanatic orthodox will strangle the Zionist Dream.
8. Lieberman is not very diplomatic..
Malone ,   Hfx   (12.14.12)
...He tells it like it is..bravo..probably was not suited for the role of FM..but it would be nice to see him as Defense Minister..no pussy footing around with this guy.
9. This is a terrible day
Leon ,   Algonquin Land   (12.14.12)
He represented the true face of Israel. The Americans must have forced the court to charge him. This is outrageous. Lieberman was a true champion of the Israeli values and he will be missed profoundly.
10. So, Dov, where were you when Olmerd was tried??
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (12.14.12)
11. HE SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT!!!!
Michael ,   Toronto,Canada   (12.14.12)
Leftists done it again as in USA.He is the best minister in the Government.
12. Left has won the battle
Daniel ,   JM   (12.14.12)
but lost the war. They wanted to get rid of Lieberman the straight-talker, they caused him to resign a month before the elections. Unpleasant, but hardly ruinous. Lieberman was popular among the decisive majority of the electorate before, now he is seen as a holy martyr. I honestly will be surprised if there will be one leftie in the next Knesset. Talk about shooting own leg with a large large cannon.
13. Maybe Labor chairwoman Shelly Yachimovich
Rachel ,   Kiryat Ono   (12.14.12)
should do a check upon herself and how she so fast turned from being a journalist to a politician without a "cleaning period". It is very sad that Mr. Lieberman goes.
14. WE stand for Liberman !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (12.14.12)
15. #9 the true face of Israel?
Mari   (12.14.12)
"He represented the true face of Israel." If he was the true face of Israel- no wonder Israel has a PR problem. Israel needs a FM with at least a smidgen of diplomatic talent- Liebermann is a boor and an klutz with foot and mouth disease. He hasn't helped Israel's image one bit.
16. THANK GOD
Sol ,   America   (12.14.12)
Finally, some justice! Hopefully now Israel can move away from crazy racists, and towards peace!
17. This is not Russia
Aaron Rosen ,   NY, NY   (12.14.12)
This is not Russia Mr. Lieberman. Maybe you should go back there so you can practice your trade freely
18. VOTE LIEBERMNAN WE NEED HIS VOICE
ANeededVoice ,   Jerudalem Israel   (12.15.12)
No one but no one has defended the cause of Israel to the world like Lieberman his is a needed voice in the hypocrital world we live in , keep him in power.
19. @17 Aaron
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (12.15.12)
Aaron, Lieberman is Israeli, from the Jewish exile (diaspora) community in Moldava. He was not even born in Russia. Moldava does not even have a border with Russia. The Soviet Union was dominated by Russia, and a successor state to the Russian Empire, but much of the land consisted of captive nations, not regions of Russia. Moldava is essentially a part of Romania removed from Romania by Soviet imperialism. Mr Lieberman's nationality when born in the non-Russian Soviet Republic of Moldava was not even Moldavan, much less Russian, but "Jewish," which indeed is his nationality to this day. Jews are called "Russian" meaning that lived in what was once the Russian-controlled empire, and NOT because they are ethnic or national Russians of the Jewish faith. In the USSR "Jewish" was correctly a national designation, much as Zionism and the Torah also sees being Jewish: Implying a Nationality, a Faith, and a Land. Liberman is Israeli--not sabra, but Israeli. Love him or hate him, but don't make a Russian out a man born in the Jewish nation just because he was born in exile. Maybe like you?
20. Lieberman should not resign
Brod ,   USA   (12.15.12)
Giving in to the forces of Lefism that have been cooking all these craps about Lieberman is not the right way. Lieberman should not have resigned. The latent hands of Leftism and Islamist-Jihadism are behind the unrelenting undermining of Israel's government by external forces. It is time Israel stands strong and united in the face of these challenges from within and without to insure its survival.
21. G-d bless Avigdor Lieberman!
Alex ,   USA   (12.15.12)
22. Hmmm... First Barak and now Lieberman steps down...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.15.12)
Something is fishy here.
23. Tired of crooked politicians in Israel
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.15.12)
I am proud of Israel for rooting out corruption, but it's time for Israel's politicians to serve the Israeli people and not their own interest.
24. Susan Rice is available.
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (12.15.12)
25. #19
Daniel Mendoza ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (12.15.12)
So what nations and lands do Catholics ,Christians and Muslims belong to? Or is your definition just a political convenience to con people into believing that Israel is a land [with undefined borders] that by definition belongs exclusively to the Jews.
26. Ahmet, no.2, you don't even begin to
(12.15.12)
know what you are talking about.
27. 19, David, I agree with you, but don't
(12.15.12)
call it Moldava. It is called MOLDOVA in Romanian and Moldavia in English.
28. The problem with Libermann is that he
Survival   (12.15.12)
doesn't speak like a true diplomat, actually, he doesn't speak that much English. But he is a true Israeli who most of all loves Israel and does the right things for her. In this vicious Arab world where they only want to destroy Israel, Israel needs only tough, outspoken and resilient politicians. Such politicians should make it clear in the world (i.e. UN and other politically BS correct countries) that Israel means to stay alive, no matter what, even by wiping off a few attacking countries in the process. So, it is not that much about Libermann as about the very survival of Israel.
29. Lieberman is the best FM
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (12.15.12)
on the Earth. He is so good, that jealous FMs of other countries are refusing to meet him.
30. Bibi the dictator
Gregg   (12.15.12)
Why wasn't it a surprised that Bibi took the FM portfolio to himself?
