Although he's in his last year of his presidency, he hopes to remain in power. Things aren't really working out for Ahmadinejad. Turkey is one of them. He thought Turkey could be controlled by gas and oil deals but Syrian refugees pouring into Turkey and Iran's support of Assad changed things.
