Are you stupid? Israel wasn't even born when the USA became a superpower. The US became a superpower right after world war 2. Hagel is right he owes no loyalty to any nation or state except the USA, just like I would hope that BIBI and Barack are only loyal to the State of Israel. Just because he has that very important conviction that doesn't mean he is anti-Semitic. He just believes that no nation should have any major influence over American foreign policy or even a lobby group to advance there goals.

Wish the rest of the senate worked for America's interest

Obama, Hillary, and now Hagel all praised Saddam, Assad, MB, peaceful ayatollahs....etc, alternatingly. All decent Muslims and Israelis must unite in their mutual interest against such Americans.

and all you will get is a secretary of defence who puts the USA First. Whats the problem, he will be the Secretary of United States of America. What's the problem?

Why is this of concern to a Foreign Country? Everything that the USA does, that affects relationship to other nations, is a concern of foreign nations. Quite honestly, Americans need to worry about all Obama appointees.

From the Article, we see Mr. Hagel as he truly is. His remarks and actions cannot hide from history. 1. Bret Stephens wrote, "In 2002, a year in which 457 Israelis were killed in terrorist attacks, Mr. Hagel weighed in with the advice that 'Israel must take steps to show its commitment to peace.' 2. Hagel was the first Republican senator to publicly criticize the war in Iraq 3. Hagel has declined to endorse the use force against Iran if negotiations don’t persuade it to give up its nuclear program; consistently voting against sanctions on Iran to stop their pursuit of nuclear weapons capability 4. In 2009 Hagel signed a paper urging President Barack Obama to advance a Hamas-Fatah 5. Hagel also refused to be included in AIPAC's statements of support of Israel. 6. In 2006, Hagel accused Israel of "systematic destruction of an American friend - the country and people of Lebanon.” 7. In 2007, the former Nebraska Senator Hagel, voted against designating Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization. I ponder why Daniel Kurtzer, a US ambassador to Israel, under President Bush would be so supportive of Hagel's nomination, in light of all of the above disclosures.
