As a charadi who lives and works in Israel, the problem is not that the charadi do not want to work, the problem is that there is much anti-charadi discrimination in Israel. I have worked for the IDF, the city of Jerusalem, various private office and I know first hand that the businesses will give first consideration to a non religious contender for the job. advancement also is denied to charadim.
