31. Sarah, as a lawyer, what do you do with jus soli
(12.19.12)
32. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.19.12)
What absurdity allowed you to immigrate to Israel? Are you legally a resident of Israel? Did you serve in the IDF, or are you just a leech?
33. To: No. 22
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.19.12)
What proof can you cite that the boy's father is Jewish? We know that his mother was in Israel illegally -- and that the boy has no claim to Israeli citizenship. His mother is not Jewish. What are you babbling about?
34. To: No. 25
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.19.12)
I'm sorry, but you're not clear. Was the mother subject to persecution in Poland? You know, the same sort of persecution to which Jews were subjected in all of your examples? No, she wasn't. So shut up.
35. # 32
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (12.19.12)
The same absurdity that allows you too. Yes, I did serve in the IDF. So did my wife. So did my daughters, one of whom is a nekhat tzahal. So does my son who is a Major in the Israel Navy right now. I am sure you DIDN'T serve in any armed forces. Do us all a favour and shut up.
36. To: No. 29
Jack ,   Washington DC, USA   (12.19.12)
Sarah - I missed your point. If as few as one of your grandparents lived in Poland then you could claim Polish citizenship and as a result live anywhere in the EU. Your parents and grandparents are considered Polish.
37. Check UKRules
chanawashdc ,   Washington DC   (12.19.12)
Peter Townsen - Go to the website of your own Immigration authorities. The same type of rules are in effect in your country and are certainly used against illegal immigrants. And for the record, the EU blocked over 2000 planned deportations from Britain this year so far.
38. To: No. 31 - SECOND ATTEMPT
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.19.12)
Jus soli does not apply. The mother is not stateless; she is a Polish national. End of story.
39. Let them come back to Israel
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (12.19.12)
I don't understand why they were deported? The child is Israeli and the woman should be given an opportunity to stay in Israel. We have room for her.
40. #37 Why do you deliberately lie?
Sara B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (12.19.12)
The fact is anybody born in the United Kingdom automatically becomes a citizen of the UK. Their parents if they wish to stay usually become full citizens also
41. #2 Actually...
Alex   (12.19.12)
They've only mixed with non-Jews who converted to Judaism, and in most places it was illegal for Christians/Muslims to convert to Judaism. If she'd converted to Judaism or she had an high education and job she could have become a naturalized citizen and stayed.
42. #11 Non-Israeli
Alex   (12.19.12)
Obviously you're not Israeli, or you'd know such a basic thing. The law of return (and for citizenship) is valid for anyone down to 1/4 Jewish ancestry, it's because the mother is an illegal resident and the boy can't manage on his own without the mother. It's absurd you have the guts to claim you're an Israeli and spewing all that bs.
43. #16 Only pay for the kid
Alex   (12.19.12)
The mother is an illegal resident and should be deported, if it's proven by a DNA test I guess the father should have custody of the boy instead.
44. No 38. Jus soli does not apply in Israel
(12.19.12)
But you claimed about children born on us soil from illegals. I'm sorry but the USA does recognize Jus Soli. You madam should know that as a lawyer
45. Israel a racist country
(12.19.12)
The fact is that if he would have been Jewish or from Jewish decedents no one would have bothered with her. Now there's a big fuss about her and she has been expelled because Israel is not interested by non Jews. If this woman would have been Jewish in Poland and expelled from Poland I can't just imagine how all the good souls of this world would have been shocked... This country makes ugly people
46. I agree
Paul de Lagarde ,   EU   (12.19.12)
you are 100% right, sad to say, but there are already too many Jews in Europe, perhaps we need another Austrian painter soon to correct this situation here...
47. Big Bad Jew
Moragh   (12.19.12)
..... and all disbelievers! Ever heard of TRIPLE nationalities? No? ........ well I happen to have triple Nationalities, and I have 3 Passports to prove it.
48. .... and I'm a Citizen of Heaven
Christian   (12.19.12)
of course I am. I know exactly who my Father is!
49. Reply to 40 Born in the USA
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (12.19.12)
I think you are incorrect. The USA is unusual in granting citizenship to whomever is born there. I recall a UK case of a grown woman to be deported from the UK because her mother had overstayed her student visa a generation earlier and given birth to a child. In the end the court allowed her to stay as she had always lived here, but not just because she was born here.
50. wow
Pat ,   Nyc   (12.19.12)
Poland is better to live in than israel. And isn't there a war now? she should be happy to live there. There's more opportunities.
51. The kid is a Israeli period
Ariel ,   Seoul   (12.21.12)
What's wrong with Israel I know that Israel is a small country but a kid and a mother will not be a burden to the Israel Why don't you check all the Russians that come from poor Russia with fake paper as Jews and send they back to Siberia where they belong Shit blonde and blue eyes jews
