1. They are mad! We should complain.
(12.25.12)
The best film was not nominated, why, now we don't stand a chance to win.
2. Much more annoying
A fan ,   Israel   (12.25.12)
Is that there are no English subtitles here in Israel, as far as I know. Many English speakers want to see it and can't as they know they will not follow the dialogue in Ivrit. We here are more important than what happens with awards overseas. Beautiful film enjoyed by young and older but only the Hebrew speaking ones. How short sighted There indeed is a void that should be filled... I hope someone proves me wrong in Netanya, Petach Tikvah etc.
3. Tribal experiences
Mary   (12.25.12)
To be honest, the haredi film “to fill the void” narrates a very special or even tribal experience with very limited value for a non-Jewish audience. However, the stories of two documentaries "5 Broken Cameras" and "The Gatekeepers" are of universal interest: What happens to human beings by suppressing other human beings.
4. Poor judgement. in Oscar Nomination
Tova ,   Canada   (01.16.13)
Any film that shows Israel in a bad light will always be nominated. When will the Oscars nominate a film showing how Israelis are under constant threat by Arabs and Israeli's contribution to the world. I will not be seeing the 5 broken cameras or the gatekeepers. It's like destroying your family infront of the world to see. Surely there must be Israeli film makers that produce more truth about Israel.
