As you know only two countries in the world recognised Jordan's claim to the West Bank -- the UK and Pakistan. Jordan took over East Jerusalem and the West Bank by driving out the Jews who lived there. If Jordan had no claim to the West Bank and the Mandate had ended, no country aside from Israel had much of a claim. Let's face it Jerusalem, Hebron et al had been Jewish for at least 3,000 years, and there was no such country as Palestine.

All historical evidence, whether derived from documents or found objects, is partial and subject to interpretation and reinterpretation. History is not laboratory science. Consequently, histories are constantly re-written over time. The Bible is not a single document and has different meanings in different traditions. Thus, a Jewish - Zionist - reading might emphasise the historicity of the Bible, while ignoring those aspects which may be historically problematic. No problem with that, but do not expect everyone else to subscribe to the same interpretations.
