They can see and hear with their own eye how other countries are prosperous and free, without a mullah telling them what to think or act. The Middle East has changed. The British promised the whole region to the arabs in exchange for support in the war against the Turks but for Jewish support they also promised a Jewish homeland. The League of Nations gave the British a mandate to create a Jewish homeland which was based on the borders of Balfour which was more than the borders of 1948 or 1967. Some land in the north ( Golan included ) was traded to the Franch who had mandtes to create Syria & Lebanon in exchange for Iraqi provinces where British companies had found oil and they created Transjordan by dividing up Palestine. To protect their interests both British and French created lots of puppet royal families by importing Heshimite princes which made it impossible for democracy to develop & military dictatirs were natural successors to toppled royals.
