Israeli conflict has always been one that relies on solid grounds of international law, on universally accepted ethical values and on historic rights of the Jewish people. The people who need to answer hard questions are those singling out the Jewish people - clearly, an act of anti-Jewish racism!! - and deny it and only it its historic rights, its universally accepted ethical right of national self-determination and independence, and its legal right to that part of the country between the Jordan River and the Med. Sea, only 23% of "Palestine" - to be "the national home for the Jewish people" as it is spelled in several instruments of international law. Indeed, it is time to be on the offensive, demanding of people why they treat us, Jews, with a sense of racism, anti-Jewish racism at that.

Support for Israel is always welcome, but this op-ed was disappointing. The poor rhetorics aside, it makes the fundamental error of thinking that the extremists have to be EITHER the Israelis OR the Palestinians. As anyone with the slightest insight already knows, the picture is much more complex. There are extremist and moderate Israelis and there are extremist and moderate Palestinians. There are definitely more moderate Israelis than more moderate Palestinians (by a wide margin) but let's not forget that we have our fair share of extremists who just as uncompromising as the more extreme Palestinians.

I know that you are probably not interested in opposing views, but anyway... The other day there was a survey showing that 67% of Israelis support a 2-state solution, i.e. a state for the Palestinians. As far as we can tell, Hamas supports a 1-state solution - they say they want to get all Jews out of Israel, make it ALL Palestine. In this state of affiars, how exactly is it Israel's responsibility to solve the problem? I would be really interested to know.
