There are many types of mentally disabled people. Some of them can operate normally like most people in many/most cases and/or with the help of medicine. Yet others are completely crazy and cannot be allowed anywhere near civilized society. So the findings don't mean anything until the methods are revealed. What questions were asked of the poll participants? How were they asked?

That's a broad category. There are people who are hampered by low IQ (mentally retarded; Down's Syndrome) and there are people who are hampered by mental illness. The study is fraudulent on its face if it did not distinguish between an individual who is retarded and an individual who has, say, paranoid schizophrenia. People are incapable of full integration into society for a variety of reasons. To slap such an overreaching category as "mentally disabled" upon all of them is quite unfair. The lovely young woman who makes my coffee every morning at Starbuck's is mentally retarded. The unwashed and quite intimidating man who hangs around outside Starbuck's, yelling at people who are not there is, I believe, schizophrenic. What a world of difference.

This guy sounds like he has his head screwed on properly so let him vote. I have a neighbor he has a 40 year old daughter becauase of complictions at birth she is mentally handicaped and her problems are so severe she shouldn't vote. A possible solution could be when elections are announced any handicapped people who want to vote must go see a doctor who will decide if they are compitent. Not wanting to live next to a mentally handicapped person understandable. Partly its not undersanding the problem just seeing the symptoms but they can also be annoying. This daughter of my neighbor drives me mad, if I hve to go round there for something. She is like an excited dog because she is so pleased to see me and goes shouts out that I have come. I was at lunch once on Shabbat and her father asked if I had a girlfriend I told him no then jokingly says you got to get one you should be married by now. His daughter then asked if she could marry me. I didn't knwo what to say because how do you say no to somebody who doesn't understand? So for sure lots of people wjll not feel comfortable living next to sometbody like that.

Scribbling is part of Freedom of Expression but it seem that in Israel we have Freedom to Hate everything that is not Right-wing!
