10. The article is hiding the fact
aaron ,   austria / safed   (01.08.13)
that 90% of this new wave of Anti-Semitism comes from Muslim immigrants. With the exception of Hungary and Greece, the vast majority of Anti-Semitism in the EU is imported from Turkey and the Middle East/North Africa. Most Austrians are fine, decent people and don't have anything agains Jews. But if you send your Jewish child to a public school in Vienna, Cologne, Berlin, Brussels. etc., you will get into a dangerous situation as even Austrians and Germans themselves are already in the minority in many public schools in larger towns. It's very contra-productive by European Jewish organizations to not speak out the truth about who really is behind this new wave of Anti-Semitism in Austria, Germany, etc.
11. 9 Ken The time will tell who is smart.

12. Antisemitism in Austria
RB ,   Israel   (01.08.13)
What's the big surprise? This is the most antisemitic country in the world. Hardly worth an article or an announcement. Jews who live in Austria should expect nothing else.
13. TO no.10 - it is irrelevant
Mike ,   Australia-notAustria   (01.08.13)
Even if what you say is true and it is Muslims who perpetrate the anti-semitism in Austria, given this country's history it should legislate against this behaviour and imprison any person guilty of it. Children who perpetrate this behaviour at school should be placed in juvenile detention. Austria cannot hide behind the "Muslim excuse".
14. 13 Mike In London they do what...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.08.13)
you promote.
15. Wehret den Anfängen!
Miryam ,   Vienna, Austria   (01.08.13)
I'm Jewish & I'm Austrian. The situation here is not that bad - yet! There's a great Jewish infrastructure, and the majority of the Austrians are not antisemites. I'm almost sure that the rise of these figures is due to the muslim immigrants. But - I'm glad that Mr. Deutsch adresses these figures and starts a public discussion about it. Wehret den Anfängen!
16. A reason
Mordechai ,   Eilat   (01.08.13)
Because you don´t want reform, conservative and secular jews (most european and american jews) in Israel. That´s the reason why they don´t make aliyah. Because Israel is getting more and more religious and racist.
17. #8
Vlad   (01.09.13)
So you'd rather live with the European Nazi far-right? In an extreme climate of antisemitism rather than come to the place that was created as a refuge for people exactly like you, and btw with a fast-growing and vibrant economy as compared to the feeble European economy? I pity you.
18. Maybe now we'll see more aliyah
Vlad   (01.09.13)
These Hungarian Jews came to Austria to escape antisemitism, only to find out that it followed them there. Maybe now they'll see that Israel is the better bet.
19. #8, where is your future?
Zimbi ,   NJUSA   (01.09.13)
20. why are still in austria?
Josh ,   soon to be israel   (01.09.13)
come to israel!
21. @ Josh
Miryam ,   Vienna, Austria   (01.09.13)
I'm still in Vienna because living here is good. Very good free education, low rate of unemployment, a beautiful city, good Jewish infrastructure (kosher shops, bakerys and restaurants, synagogues, schools, kindergartens - even an eruv). The standard of living is much higher in Austria than in Israel, you earn more, living is cheaper, good public transport etc. And - most important for me, all my family and friends are here. I feel at home in Vienna. In my life I had so far two anti-semitic encounters: a taxi driver who didn't know I was jewish, who was telling me lies about the Talmud. The other one were two old, drunk and maybe homeless guys on a parkbench who were talking about Jews ruling the world. That's it. No reason to move away. It's good to have the possibility of Aliyah as a "plan B", but moving to Israel is really not an option for me right now.
22. Oh, I forgot to mention
Miryam ,   Vienna, Austria   (01.09.13)
... that Vienna is regularely voted as the wold's most prosperous city. I am aware that, if you don't live here and have never been here, the only news you hear about Vienna and Austria are bad news. But that's the same with Israel, if you live abroad. All you hear is terrorism and crazy ani-zionist Jewish leaders. Does that mean that Israel is a bad country? No, it just means, that you don't get the whole picture by only following the news.
23. 22 Miryam,i can tell you...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (01.09.13)
not from what i read in the papers, that when a Viennese smiles to you ,it doesnt mean he likes you,far from that. Good Jewish friends showed their real face, during the war. They denounced Jews to plunder their belongings.
24. # Miryam
aaron ,   austria / safed   (01.09.13)
Unfortunately it might only get worse in the future. Especially for those who can't afford living in the expensive districts like Hietzing or Doebling. I don't know where you live, but in some districtsof Vienna you better don't go as a Jew. Also, the reigning social-democratic government (SPOE) has some of the fiercest Israel-haters in their rows. I remember the extremely hateful and aggressive Gaza-demonstration from 2010 very well... On the other hand you have a far right opposition with Strache (FPOE). So on one side you have a pro-Muslim party and on the other side a far-right party. Amazing...
25. Save The Schlesinger twins
End Corruption ,   Vienna, Austria   (01.10.13)
When will the Jewish community in Vienna give back the Schlesinger twins to their mother. Why are they letting a full blown international media scandal happen on their doorstep when they could fix the problem so easily.

Don't forget that nearly all Bolshevik or Young Turk Butchers were jews.Jewish victimology propaganda has no place for these facts.
