1. A practical solution was always in front of you
Cameron ,   USA   (01.08.13)
Either cripple their infrastructure, and thus inflict a level of pain on Gaza that renders the place an unbearable basket case for the populace. or Roll in troops, smash & scatter Hamas and other fanatic groups in a systematic manner, and then hand that sand pit over to the control of the PA. Unpleasant options and heavy, but necessity dictates, and the game of playin' around with has hit the limit. The next rocket war, it seems fated that Hamas & the Hez will hit you in conjunction with every weapon they can muster. Anyone care to wager with me that Israel will select one of those two options? Is there another?

Continue on this road which has allowed Gazans to have access to their daily needs of life therefore proving both parties can live side by side without tossing rockets. Quiet and peacefulness always leads to gaining of mutual trust. That is KEY. Failing that we fall back to hostilities and your options.

So glad you are willing to gamble the lives of our citizens. How well would your country tolerate 15,000 rocket attacks on your cities? We have tried your method for many years now and the violence has gotten much worse. How many more years and lives will it take before we are 'allowed' to defend our civilians?
4. Obvious solution is to retake Gaza forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.08.13)
Israel's problems with Gaza stem directly from Israel's mad retreat from Gaza. The solution couldn't be more obvious. Retake Gaza forever. Rebuild Gush Katif bigger and better than ever. End the lunacy of Israeli retreat forever.
5. Ideological Conversion
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, U.S.A.   (01.09.13)
For the past 64 years Israel's version of "ideological conversion" has meant "might makes right." Right from the beginning Ben Gurion made it the policy to expand the state at the expense of peaceful negotiations. It has not been towards finding a peaceful solution to the problem. Halevy is correct. Practicality, and personal integry have a chance towards a solution of this on-going issue.
