31. #27 What has Obama done right?
Deb ,   US   (01.08.13)
He's made a mess out of everything.
32. Hagel's record shows indifference to plight of Russian Jews
Chuck Bagel   (01.08.13)
In 1999, Hagel was the only senator out of 100 who refused to sign the American Jewish Committee’s statement against antisemitism in Russia. Hagel is obviously no great friend to Jews. Obama is sending a clear message of hostility, despite having been showered with Jewish money, votes and media support. The selection of Hagel is so in-your-face it's stunning.
33. I AM SCARED
Keren IL-BR ,   Israel   (01.08.13)
I am really scared now. We don't have friends already and the only remaining one is now showing its true face. I think it is time to look for other partnerships... China, Russia, maybe...These are now our true friends The US is our bitter enemy now.
34. @12
(01.08.13)
Let me make 1 thing clear to you. Obama doesn't now, nor has he EVER had America's interest at heart, in mind or anything else. You need to stop drinking the Kool-aid they're selling!!
35. #21 Which Semites?
Robert ,   Australia   (01.08.13)
If you were a frequent visitor to this comment board you wouldn't be asking that. Even to its greatest benefactor Israelis constantly demonstrate their ingratitude.
36. IF IT WALKS LIKE A DUCK
MR CYNIC ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (01.08.13)
And quacks like a duck ..IT'S A DUCK .FFS.
37. @15 Fred who is whinning
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (01.08.13)
Fred have you missed the point, and stressed non-facts. There is no whinning, and you do not GIVE 3.5 billion $$s. You need a real basic history lesson, and a lecture on what the US gets back from Israel. But, fine, we WILL ultimately break the ties with the US government, though not with our true friends in the US. Israel is a 3000-plus year old nation, around and surviving long before you came out from England's womb.
38. @35 Gratitude for what?
Daniel ,   Australia   (01.08.13)
I am a semite and have regard for MANY non-semites. I dont even see people as "semites" and "non semites". the fact that you come on here with such a generalised comment shows you are intolerant and have no common sense. people reserve the right to hold views. gracious for what? google: thomas w. white hate to break it to you, but the world did not found the state of israel. and during ww2 the allies 'happened to come across' a bunch of suffering people during their battle. nobody has assisted israel in fighting any of their wars. unless your talking about day-to-day business where israel buys weapons and receives foreign aid for research and development of mutual benefit (intel, google, microsoft, iron dome, cell phones)...there is nothing israel should be gracious for. the world is diverse, filled with many different types of people. just because we are different, does not mean we are unable to relate to each other. this article is about a nomination not in israeli interests; how do you expect people are going to react in talkback...really? hold whatever view you want, just adopt some common sense. thank you,
39. #15
(01.08.13)
Dude!! You worry me. You cannot even spell....... much less choose your own officials!!
40. Comprehensive settlement
sam ,   colorado-USA   (01.09.13)
The region is going to a comprehensive settlement so Israel isn't a very difficult position. and "Furthering the peace process in the Mideast is in Israel's interest"
