Your commentator equates the national interests of the United States ( population 310 millions, a military budget exceeding that of all the major industrial powers, international obligations on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, the largest economy in the world, treaties with well over a hundred states...) with those of Israel and assumes that President Obama somehow has a personal grudge against Mr. Netanyahu in nominating Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense as a kind of vindictive move accounting for some past grudges between Israel and the USA. Should other Ynet commentators need to have any understanding about the nature of international relations and international politics before they vent of the cuff opinions? Surely, people who write for international outlets ought to have some knowledge of the world as it is presently constituted. Do dreams , rants and private expectations pass for expertise in Israel these days?
