1. Bennett
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (01.09.13)
I watched him last night and he completely frightened me. Here was a man setting out how the country and people must act, there was no allowing for different points of view. Bennett is a terrible threat to everyone, both religious and secular. to allow him and his cohorts the slightest power will be a disaster for the State. You only have to look at who was standing with him to see the most extreme of people.
2. lapid in no position
marcel   (01.09.13)
lapid's father enabled olmert to f**k up the hezbollah war, to make concessions that humiliated jews worldwide and to offer the golan for eimpty assurances. So lapid is in no position to talk. his formulae 2 state lead nowhere cause the problem for the arabs is not 67 but israel period-you blind mice.
3. Lapid has no qualifications for any leadership role.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.09.13)
Simply being a media celebrity is no qualification to be an Israeli leader. Lapid has no real party and no real leadership credentials. Be gone with him!
4. Lapid has my vote !!!
Avi Mizrachi ,   Modiin   (01.09.13)
Bennett will only advance the agenda of the Ultra-Orthodox and the settlers. If you want a strong, secular society, free from "ochlei chinum", vote for Lapid!
5.  GORDON BENNETT
COCKNEY LAD ,   SAFED INNIT?   (01.09.13)
Or should that be Naftali ?
6. Bennett
MC   (01.09.13)
Mordechai, You are completely wrong about Bennett. He and his party will save the state of Israel from weak and unauthentic so called leaders. He is the best thing that has happened in politics for a very long time and hopefully he will receive many votes from people who have the insight to see this.
7. I am not there-in Israel- but, as I learn
Sam ,   USA   (01.09.13)
more of N. Bennet the more favorably impressed I become. He is very smart, has a vision,is politically wise, inclusive of all as he seeks a wide array of voter support. He makes clear sense in presenting his views in a cogent, forthright, comprehensive & easily understood way gaining a consensus of the electorate . His communication skills remind me of former Pres Clinton, which in itself is no small accomplishment. His intelligence coupled with a wise humility to realize he is not yet ready to lead the nation as PM displays practicable political skills and willingness to learn as he joins in furthering national goals as a member of government. He unites without insulting the integrity of others as he advances his concepts in a mature statesmanlike manner. A future national leader arises imminently
8. Bennett Was An Officer: Served In Sayeret Matkal And Maglan
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (01.09.13)
Lapid was a jobnik who wrote for "BaMachaneh". Who is more qualified to deal with military matters? Gee, that's a toughie.
9. confused
(01.09.13)
Can someone explain Lapid? He demands Haredim get drafted, but he himself was a draft dodger. How does that work?
10. Bennett will undermine Israel
Ay ,   USA   (01.09.13)
Does anyone seriously think Habayit Hayehudi's annexation idea without equal rights for the local Arabs will fly internationally? I'm not talking of Europe. I'm talking of the US. It won't fly even among the American Jews. Does anyone really think American Jews will support a Jewish Iran?
11. #6
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (01.09.13)
Naturally there are people like yourself who dream, however i am not going to allow myself, my children or grandchildren to be dictated to as to what they must learn and what they must believe in. Bennett's desires are those that dictators desire, uniformity to his philosophy, and woe those that oppose them. No different from the European dictators and look what they did just to their own people who disagreed. he is such a threat to democracy that he should be locked up. in fact he is worse than Kahane, at least Kehane said what he believed, Bennett, says the same thing but in fancy language to hide his real intent. And knowing Bibi he will sell out to Bennett just to stay in power.
12. to Mordechai
MC   (01.10.13)
Mordechai What is your personal vendetta against Bennett all about? He is anything but a 'dictator and threat to democracy' these are very harsh and unfounded criticisms. Why all this hatred? I also have children and grandchildren and believe he is the best for their future. You need to think long and hard before you make such proclamatons
13. Look at the price before buying
Cost of living ,   Israel   (01.10.13)
The bridge of Bayt Haihudi has price tag
14. Well said Mordechai, #1 and #11
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (01.10.13)
Ay #10 and CoL # 13
15. #12
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (01.10.13)
Hatred? Not at all, i just happen to listen and read what he says not with roses tinted glasses and seeing what i want to see, rather the opposite i ask myself why does he say this or that, who is he to say what one's lifestyle should be or what my children or grandchild have to, not should, learn, these is all the subtle language of a dictator, even the convicted felon from Shas doesn't go that far.. And Bennett has to on one side of him, if you take the time to check, people who are so extreme right wing and on the other ignorant smiling secularists who only hear what they want to hear. it doesn't matter what someone did in the army, or where they grew up, again one only has to look at the European dictators as examples to see that that is of no importance, what is of importance is their philosophy that they intend to apply as soon as they have the slightest power, Bennett is no different from Morsi in Egypt, his desire to impose his stated lifestyle on every Israeli Jew is what is at stake. Wake up fool, as you may also not meet all his criteria and will face the consequences.
16. #13 - having a state to live in has a price tag
Daniel ,   JM   (01.10.13)
That is something our pal neighbors fail to understand and something our 5 column leftist brothers want to spare us by undoing that state. Being a state has a price and we are ready to pay it. If you don't - please immigrate. Sorry, chum, its Bennet all the way. I am secular and dislike haredi excesses, but I like leftie backbiting, political assessinations, and patronising arrogance even less. Sorry, dude, you had the helm for 20 years and it resulted in rivers of blood. Now be nice guys, scoot, and let the grown ups fix what still can be fixed. Go Naftali!
17. Bennett & Ben Ari to save Israel from the disastrous left.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.10.13)
Leftist retreat and appeasement are the root cause of virtually all Israel's serious problems. Nothing is more crucial than saving Israel from the left. Bennett and Ben Ari have the vision and the courage to do so.
18. Bennett hates anything that is not Jewish
Northerner   (01.10.13)
Unfortunately for him and fortunately for us there aren't only Jews in Israel therefore Bennett's views aren't suitable for the Israeli democracy. People like him are isolating Israel from the rest of the world and create a ghetto; a Jewish ghetto. Is that what we need?
19. Let's cool it for a sec. We don't REALLY want a reluctant
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.10.13)
group of haredi soldiers in IDF: but it's a nice gimmick for the masses. All we have to ask from the Followers of the Imaginary Friend is to donate 2-3 years of their otherwise unproductive lives to the State of Israel. Lapid is as phoney as they get.
20. Bennet vs Lapid
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.10.13)
Bennet serves in the army, works hard, sets up a company, employs people. Lapid's dady helps him dodge military service and then gets him a cushy job and free publicity. Who are we going to trust?
21. To Mordechai
Shira ,   Also from B. Shemesh   (01.10.13)
What you're saying is lashon hara, pure and simple. Have you MET Mr. Bennet? Have you spoken with him about your "fears?" Stop spreading gossip on what you THINK he's all about. THAT is a chilul Hashem! By the way, you live near some of the most radical ultra-Orthodox Jews in the country (Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet) so if you were THAT concerned about extremists impinging on your lifestyle, you would have left Beit Shemesh long ago.
22. #21
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (01.10.13)
Madam, Firstly i refer you to what Bennett says in his election TV commercials, presumably you have not seen them for if you had you would know what i am talking about. it is not "gossip", he says it plain and clear. It is necessary to expose his philosophy and show his aspirations to impose his life style on all Israelis. no other party make such claims, live and let live is not part of his vocabulary. he wishes to turn Israel into a dictatorship. As to those people in Ramat Beit Shemesh, most of whom will not vote as permanent residents cannot, they prefer this status for tax reasons whilst living off the State, do not contribute to society and were it not for the people who live in Beit Shemesh and pay their taxes so that those in the Ramah who do not, they would have no community services. If anything the ghetto should be closed down and those who do not have Israeli citizenship deported back to where they came from.
23. Mordechai
Shira ,   Also from B. Shemesh   (01.10.13)
Wrong. There is a video of him on YouTube where he discusses his wife. She is not even religious! He said before they got married he felt pressure about it, but she basically told him, "We love each other, so we can work things out." And that's what they did. He believes in working things out. He believes in shalom bayit - even on a national scale - you can see that he doesn't attack the other party leaders - he refuses to trash Netanyahu and in particular Sara. He has a lot of class and you are doing a character assassination on him. You need to read the laws of lashon hara and rechilut a lot closer.
