1. If Israel's leaders are extremists....
Dan ,   Israel   (01.10.13)
then what are the Arabs.........
2. Not necessarily the Outcome
Zechariah   (01.10.13)
A centre right will improve conditions for Palestinians and force Arab states to give exarabs of Israel full citizenship or autonomous prosperity like the Jews in The Diaspora.Settlememts will be slowed and jihadi and Fatah Ba'ath strongly suppressed. Palestine will get more land better developed.
3. Israel must bury sick, evil leftist agenda.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.10.13)
I hope the Patriotic Right wins a HUGE majority. Israel needs change! We need to bury the sick, evil leftist agenda of appeasement and retreat, which is the root cause of virtually all Israel's suffering.

Any Arab country or group which some may label as " moderates " are still much more extreme than the Israelis who are called right wing.

There have been some (a few) moderate and honorable Arab leaders, "may they rest in peace".
9. Desperate left needs arab journalist to stir fear
Martin ,   SA   (01.10.13)
Thanks for a good summary of our recent political history. The conclusion however doesnt fit. By burying this apologetic left we can face our neighbours and negotiate and work out long-term solution that also suit all of our Jewish population. We could contemplate a presence in strategic positions for the sake of stability and not confused with words indicating to oppression. Our brother in YeSha look forward to building secure and fruitful lives side by side with Arabs there. And Jerusalem finally establish as a secure and stable united entity whilst we re-establish our presence 80 to 100 years ago in East Jer. THis presence was disrupted by the Turkish occupiers during the prelude to WW1 and the by the British. Without dreaming we anticipate as then living peacefully with our Arab neighbours in Yeushalyim Jordan Egypt Syria and Lebanon etc. Our borders would be based on that which was good for the world order of the 20's and also in '47. To the Left, lets hear some positive campaigning not ongoing miserable apologies for living in our Holy precious land, every inch is like gold and precious stones. Am Yisroel Chai.
10. Yes the left liberals have wondered into the desert
Martin ,   SA   (01.10.13)
Yes the left liberals have wondered into the desert They appear lost in there liberal oblivion. So much so that as they wipe the desert dust from their dusty short-sighted eyes early each day and they then mumble an apology for waking up safe in our treasured land and are blinded by its Divinity. As they peer out are confounded by sturdy determined inhabitants and label them extremists, fascists or fanatics. And all they are normal people with a lust for warm honst life. Yes name the Arab liberal leaders whom you see and are so concerned about that they would even contemplate giving away our security and our treasured land to keep them happy and smiling. .

Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (01.10.13)
12. #4, youve been promising Israels destruction for a while now
Jake ,   USA   (01.10.13)
All I see is a flourishing Israel growing stronger every year, for over 64 years now. You and your kind (spineless Jew haters) have been predicting Israel's doom for a while, when will you admit you're wrong?
13. #7 YOU CAND FIND EVEN ONE ! THUS WHY ;
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.10.13)
Not just the moderate is a terminology which dosen't exist in Arab mentality, if you try to find one you have to go to their cemetery, because one live doesn't last too long.
14. After Oslo,Israel gave lands, and received suicede's bombers

16. israelis tired of waiting for peace
robert ,   stamford ct usa   (01.10.13)
the fact is israel is tired of waiting for a peace partner. it's pretty clear the palestnians do not want peace so israel is turning right and away from the peaceniks. the only way to deal with the arabs is from strength.
17. moderate arab leader
robert ,   stamford ct usa   (01.10.13)
barack hussein obama
18. Not much credence to the Arab/Left/Livni propaganda
JJJ   (01.10.13)
I suggest not giving much credence to the Arab/Left/Livni propaganda. It’s the opposite; the Palestinians/Arabs will find them selves with out levers to play Israel like a marionette, and the left or more correct Livni can kiss her future in politics GOODBY
19. #7, Sadat, and ....um..Ghadaffi ?
Mounir   (01.10.13)
20. the "seizure" of their lands
Ora ,   Tel Aviv   (01.10.13)
"The Palestinians are paying the price for the settlement policy, which was initiated by Labor-led governments in the 1970s. They are paying the price for the seizure of their lands following the Six Day War, which was waged by a Labor-led government." Does the writer pretend not to know why the lands were "seized"? Who exactly started the war. and what about the three no's at Khartoum after the Six Day War? "No peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it." If the Arabs had been willing to negotiate, maybe things would have been different for the Palestinians.
21. "Waged by a Labor-led Gov't."? We didn't 'Wage' any war!
My Planet Israel ,   LA-Jerusalem   (01.11.13)
Under the certain threat of attack from a slew of neighboring nations who built up their armies along our borders, we launched a pre-emptive, surprise attack to thwart their plans. That is NOT 'waging' sir. Get your words right if you expect to amount to anything as a journalist. And to be sure: todays 'leftists' in Israel are a patchwork of self-serving, irrational idealists which our nation understands as a brood of dangerous machers. THAT is why the 'left' failed: because as leftists always do: they become divided by their own special interests and hate speech. We don't want them. They've failed us today horribly. The Left of the past is nothing like the left of today. One was intelligent and resolved, today's leftists are a collection of selfish children.
22. leftist YoodenRATS - Gods acomin' fo yo
MakaBee ,   Jerusalem on HIGH   (01.11.13)
and we, his lil helpers will clean ya all out oncet and fo allways, bye now FOEVER !!!
23. Every Israeli should find this article deeply offensive.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (01.11.13)
These leftists have a totally warped sense of reality and will lie, deceive, mislead and undermine without a shred of conscience - just look at Livni as well! They seek the interest of the enemies of Israel and could not care less about Israel. What effrontery to even think the rank and file Israeli will support their insanity!
24. Strange definitions
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.11.13)
If one does not agree to the destruction of one's country and are Jewish they get labelled an extremist. If one advocates ethnic cleansing and genocide and is Arab they are labelled moderate. The leftists are the true extremists here
25. Lunatic Left is on the run: let's chase it out of our yard!
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.11.13)
26. REALITY CHECKS
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (01.11.13)
- It is 100% impossible for Israel to retain the land by force. Not today and maybe not tomorrow, but eventually the Arabs will be able to defeat Israel. Then what? - Israel can not have any peace until it agrees to live by the neighborhood rules. - No matter how belligerent the government is that Israelis elect, they will never have any peace until they swallow their pride. - All bullies are eventually humiliated and beaten. - All invaders get driven out or are forced to absorb the locals as full citizens, but mostly they are driven out. - Watching Israel spiral into oblivion is like watching a Greek tragedy and wondering why such supposedly smart people act so dumb.
27. To: No. 26
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.11.13)
Here's a reality check for you: The Jewish people will never go into exile again. We will never absorb despicable terrorists into our midst. We are confident in our military capabilities and if push should ever come to shove, we will unleash our formidable nuclear arsenal and take as much of the world with us as we can, and render the rest of it uninhabitable for the next one hundred thousand years. It's Israel's doomsday scenario, and it is named for the Biblical character Samson. We WILL pull down the temple walls, and there is not a damned thing anyone can do to stop us. Any attempt would merely hasten the inevitable. For 2,000 years, the Jewish people have been hounded mercilessly, never bothering anyone and being persecuted in numbers and in manners unparalleled in human history. We have our tiny strip of land which we call home, now, and no one -- NO ONE -- is going to take it away. If you do not understand that, then you really do not understand anything at all.
28. #27 has zero ability to guartentee "never"
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (01.11.13)
The harsh reality is the Jewish people are a miniscule minority and if a large number of other humans decide to send them into exile again, the Jewish people will go into exile again. Sure Sarah can threaten to nuke the world, but that is just Masada talk that will just ensure that Jewish people do not survive the nuclear firestorm. Sarah is just flat out crazy and her crazy talk will just make the situation worse for all Jewish people on earth. Nuclear weapons are only good for committing suicide and I suspect other than Sarah, most Jewish people are not suicidal.
29. To N 27, Sarah B
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (01.11.13)
Mr's Sarah B, don't be angry with me. You know how I love and admire Israel and your suffered but glorious Jewish people. When friends, like me, criticize some radical opinions, we never want to endanger your country. On the contrary, we think that, nowadays, the world is better than in 30ths or 40ths, democracy is stronger, and ecumenism has increased. Don't think you, Jews, are isolated. I understand your bitterness for the awful past, but you have to give a chance, little at least, for a honoured peace into Middle East. If there is another war, be sure we will be, entirely, at your side. But I hope it will not happen. God bless you and all Sons and Daughters of Abraham.
30. To: No. 28
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.11.13)
You really are a whack job. The Jewish people will NOT go into exile again. Ever. To do so will be suicidal, and we know it. But 2,000 plus years of history have taught us that if we cannot have our beloved country -- then a lot of other people should not have theirs, either. And I assure you that the Samson option is a very integral part of Israel's military planning. Dismiss it very much to your peril. Do not underestimate our resolve. If we cannot live -- neither can you. Fair's fair.
