1. 34 parties for 120 seats?
exUK ,   Tel Aviv   (01.11.13)
The political system here reminds me of various jokes all built on truth. 1) Two Jews...three opinions! 2) American president to Israeli president...here I am president to 180 million citizens .Israeli president to American president."But here I am president to six million presidents!" Seriously, until or unless our system is changed,we will have chaos,Candidates putting themselves before the needs of the country.Manouvering to avoind potentially useful coalition for selfish reasons,or getting together with minority extremists parties in order to stay in power,so that the tail is wagging the dog.Although I have no aspirations politically,it is true that 2 years after I get shouted down with my opinions I hear influential people such as ambassadors reiterate them.I despair
2. Why are there so many parties?
Malone ,   Hfx   (01.11.13)
It seems anyone that can get 7 or 8 people together, with a few $$,can form a party...is that how it works?
3. "Young professional"
old amateur   (01.11.13)
You cannot call yourself a professional at anything if you don't know how to vote . It goes like this . If your rich you vote for the rich party. If you are poor you vote for the workers party. If you are in between and stupid you vote for the good looking candidate. If you are in between and clever you don't vote at all.
4. 34 parties for 120 seats - and no one to vote for
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (01.11.13)
Everyone I speak with about this election tells me who they are voting against. Not one person can tell me that they are voting for someone without the why they are doing it to vote against someone else. So much of Israel's politics comes down to the Accused, Indited, Convicted (but served their time), or too new to know that it is hard to vote for a party without feeling you have at least one person on their list that you don't want. There is no personal accountability, no chance to vote for the person that you want (as in other countries) just a party list made up of a mixture of the good, the bad, and the clueless. It is enough to make you stay home.
5. democracy a joke here!
galilean ,   Israel   (01.12.13)
I am an old new immigrant...been here forever and ever. I never have voted here for the central government and have no intention of ever doing so. The idea that I do not vote for a real representative is absurd to me. You have to be a member of a political party to vote for the REPRESENTATIVE of THE PARTY, and then we idiot citizens vote for a party with their list of people. Give me a break, what kind of democracy is this?? I do have one idea that might give us simple citizens some true representation. I propose that we form another body of government within and along side the Knesset (like congress and senate in the USA), made up of the local council heads. We'd have to figure out how to have the cities represented. At least when we vote for local representation we are actually voting for a particular person.

Considering you can't even write proper English (the word your and you're are two distinctly different words) I think it is unfair of you to criticize young professional trying to educate themselves about the political system of the country they live in.
