1. Sierra Leone?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.16.13)
Let's see -- blood diamonds; civil war; rampant tribal violence and atrocities committed by the score by machete-wielding children. Ah, yes. Just the country to lead an investigation into Israel. Is it any wonder that it is impossible to take any United Nations agency seriously, especially the Human Rights Council?
2. Excuse the UNHCR!
Jerome ,   Basalt, Colorado   (01.16.13)
They are totally dislexic, they should be investigating jihad murder, suicide, child abuse, and the Pally's refusal of peace offered to them multiple times over. Israel doesn't have a peace partner. Why should any sane country listen to useless nations hypocritical creed ruses!
3. The UN, gaggle of unrepentant antisemites
Yosi ,   Gilo-Jerusalem   (01.16.13)
What have we to do with these vipers?
4. UN human rights council
Volvi   (01.16.13)
Israel MUST stay out of this evil organisation that in the end aids and abets human right violations of its members by ignoring their atrocities and using Israel as their favourite scapegoat. Israel must never co-operate with this council in any shape of form, for to do so she becomes complicit even indirectly. Israels presence would only lend credibility where none is due.
5. I'm sorry
steve from raleigh   (01.16.13)
what is this "UN" of which you speak?
6. What a sham organization!
David ,   Hartford USA   (01.16.13)
Syrians are getting obliterated by their PRESIDENT, 60,000+ dead, and the UNHRC can only manage to talk about Israel! Could the Muslim states be hijacking the UN? (Does the sun rise in the east?) The UNHRC has failed in Africa, letting marauding Islamist psychopaths run unfettered, failed in the mideast, always blaming Israel for every ill in the region, in short, it has proved itself to be an organization that is a total failure. It and the UN should be disbanded and all the 'diplomats' sent packing.
7. But No Words About Arab Homicide Bombers, etc
emanon ,   USA   (01.16.13)
8. Israel should not cooperate
Cipora Julianna Kohn ,   Z   (01.16.13)
israel should refuse to cooperate with the corrupt, anti-israel, anti-democratic unhrc.
9. UNHRC? A pathetic joke.
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (01.16.13)
The UN Human Rights Council is no better than the Human Rights Commission it supposedly replaced. With members like Iran, Saudi Arabia and China, when Libya chairs the council, what can you expect? Of course they'll hide their own transgressions and paint Israel with a tarbrush, then shout, "Look how dirty she is!" The UNHRC, along with most UN organizations, is an idea that was full of promise, but carried out to a distorted reality, becoming just one more political tool for those who can dominate it.
10. Why does the UN hate Israel?
Hmm. ,   Chicago   (01.16.13)
If the UN were given free rein, Israel would be ordered not to exist.
11. If you can't say anything nice..
Golden Dome ,   Washington, USA   (01.16.13)
.. the offender may wish not to cooperate. Sort of like a child who sticks their fingers in their ears and say, la,la,la,la.
12. To: #1 Sarah B
That's Odd ,   Ohio, USA   (01.16.13)
You would think that Sierra Leone would be the perfect county to lead the investigation.
Marianne van Geuns ,   israel   (01.16.13)
O,Sara.B ,I thank you so mutch for you comment. You always say the things so right,so cristal clair!!
14. Cute - I am sure those 3 were picked at random :)
Ron ,   Melbourne, Australia   (01.16.13)
How cute - 1. Venezuela - Hugo Chavez land - do I need to add more ... 2. Maldives - and Islamic country with such cute items in the constitution where "non-Muslim may not become a citizen", non-religious freedoms, destruction of Buddists monuments, etc ..Until 2009 there was no even a diplomatic relationship with Israel. 3. Sierra Leone - majority Muslim >60% - not forgetting the rest of the issues... They seems to always pick them in a certain way - in the UNHCR.
15. Review by Venezuela&Moslem Maldives!TheUN is a sick joke!
16. Serious human rights violations!!
David ,   Germany   (01.16.13)
Why don’t they start with Gaza? Looking at the UN’S track record with Israel I wouldn’t want them in my back yard either!
17. 15 Israel numerous violations is No Joke
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.16.13)
Neither the Maldives or Venezuela has clocked up as much UN violations
18. 1 Israels not Sierra Leon has 250 UN res
lydia ,   Brisbane   (01.16.13)
Sierra Leon is victim to Israel blood diamonds trade and the thriving sale of weapons to Africa. Just in case you think Israel has a sliver of moral credibility more than Sierra Leon. As for children wielding weapons we mustn't forget the est.Euro migrant squatters armed with malice and weapons that invaded Palestine or the millions of cluster bombs the unconscionable IOFs rains down on unarmed Palestinians, whose only crime is that the covet Palestinian land.
19. To No1. Don't forget Venzuela
Mabsurfing ,   Caracas, Venezuela   (01.16.13)
Just to say Sierra Leone and Venezuela is more than enough to know what kind of organization is the Human Rights Council, and I am Venezuelan!
20. Lydia Exactly. The UN is an Arab controlled travestry
21. One is not aware of a single reason to cooperate with people
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.16.13)
who have nominated themselves and set out to demonize Israel, to de-legitimize it, to assist in the seeking of the attempts to bring about Israel's demise.
22. No. 13
Johnny   (01.16.13)
Marianne @13. I couldn't agree more with you!
23. Israel should have dismissed the UN as
DT ,   TA Israel   (01.16.13)
a heinous anti Israel organization and should treat the UN with the utter contempt it deserves. UN impotency has been blasted wide open in Syria
24. Bush was right, Obama (as usual) wrong!
tiki ,   belgium   (01.16.13)
Israel was out & should stay out. No self respecting country should want to be identified with this shamefull circus.
25. SHUT THE UN OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (01.16.13)
These disgusting antisemitic wimps are living at Israels expense ! NOBODY needs them !
26. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.16.13)
No, that's something you might think, in which case you have proven that you are woefully ignorant. Nothing odd about that.
27. To: Mabsurfing at No. 19
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.16.13)
Please forgive my oversight. I know of all the human rights abuses in Venezuela, and I know of the complete absence of civil liberties and civil rights in the Maldives .... but I confess that it was Sierra Leone that sealed the deal on the absurdity. Larry, Moe and Curly investigating Israel. Where's Shemp?
28. UNHRC have a bad reputation. Look at its members
Joe   (01.16.13)
It is worried about its integrity? It has been out the window for a long time.
29. (17) Lydia
tiki ,   belgium   (01.16.13)
Always reading your posts from far away Brisbane, I would advise you to be brave, hop in a plane and come to Israel to witness the hogwash you have been fed by all the different propaganda outlets. You will find no "apartheid", but on the contrary nice people of all color, total freedom of religion & non religion & holebi's, complete freedom of press, heated debates on every topic in every swimming pool, coffee & street corner, international tourists flocking the streets, a great night & cultural life, great restaurants with a fusion of national & international kitchen.........and YES, Arabs do participate in all of this! Instead of suffering in your far away country about so much 'injustice, come and see for your self that you shouldn't believe all the nonsense you read. Is everything perfect? Like in Brisbane (where there is no terror, rockets & threats of neighbors calling for your demise) it's not!
30. #29 If Israel is the Utopia you say....
Robert ,   Australia   (01.16.13) is why not agree to the review to let the whole world would know.? Or does Israel have dirty secrets it doesn't want publicised?
