al qaeda has taken over two thirds of mali, a territory the size of texas. france cannot allow such a huge territory to be controlled by al qaeda. france has vital interests in mali besides uranium. had sarkozy and obama left qaddafi alone, the huge stockpiles of lybian weapons would not have fallen into the hands of al qaeda.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.17.13)
Yet they seem largely unconcerned about the huge stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons that are about to fall into the hands of al Qaeda types and worse. Oh, wait! Libya has oil. Upon which the French are highly dependent. Syria doesn't. Sorry -- the French are interested exclusively in the interests of the French. They don't do anything for humanitarian reasons -- else they'd have been in Syria long ago.
