.... that the Algerian "special forces" aren't all that special. Reminiscent of the American attempt to free the hostages in Iran and the German attempt to free the Israeli hostages in Munich. Should have asked the Israelis to do it -- no one does it better. Condolences to the families of the dead hostages. the jihadists let muslims go. they tied up all westerners and non-muslims. the jihadists had prepared for this attack for a long time and had inside help. there was no way to rescue the hostages. the algerian government, which has been fighting jihadists for decades, did what it had to do.

It took the Arab government of Algeria to remember what used to be our policy. DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS. These terrorists are not a rag tag group, they are a well trained super motivated enemy. The Algerians did what they had to do and saved lives.
