This place was overpriced.Nothing to do with big-box stores.There is a few stores on the same street that sell Israeli made products for 30% less and business is brisk.

What with SF becoming the liberal center of US, and Gays freedom etc, who enjoys Jewish homemade cooking? They prefer either Mac's or some crazy organic place.

... then go back there and speak your yiddish. The Bay area is crawling with ethnic Hebrew people who spend their money at Israeli-oriented establishments. Ladino deserved to dissapear and so does yiddishkeit.

Trying to compete with Trader Joe's for kosher meat was a non-starter, and the homemade food had no hechsher, so most strictly kosher consumers would not buy there. That was her downfall.
