31. Oslo was tradgety for Israelis and Pals
milton antidote   (01.25.13)
The patronizing Oslo Accords gave a buch of corrupt thugs and murderes power over 2 mil. Pals in the heart of the Jewish homeland. This led to over 2000 killed Israelis and thousands of killed Palestinians. Peace will not be achieved with these murderes and the illconcieved Oslo Accords prevented a more rational group of Palestinians from emerging in the Territories. Real peace was delayed by at least a generation because of curropt leaders from both sides. The only people to be uprooted from their land since Oslo was Jews. Lets try sme reciprosity for a change...
32. #22 & 23 - Sarah, you and what army is going
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (01.25.13)
to fulfill your delusional fantasy of expelling millions of humans to Jordan? The harsh reality you ignore is if you try to "round them up and ship them out," you will ignite a massive war that Israel will lose completely and the US will just sit back and watch while the Arabs beat you like a drum. And during that war, hundreds of thousands of Israelis will get killed, most of Israel's infrastructure will be destroyed and almost half the people in Israel will flee the violence (just like all humans that can always flee wars) and the Israeli economy will disappear. For a crazy American you sure wish a terrible future on Israel.
33. Interestingly, the Oslo Covenant was prophesied in Daniel
Israeili Jew ,   Israel   (01.25.13)
7 year pact, broken in the middle of the 7 years, and a great disaster for Israel.
34. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.25.13)
Excuse me, but -- aren't there consequences to losing wars of aggression which one loses? Oh, goodness! That would be the Arabs, wouldn't it? Six wars they started. Six wars they lost. Don't you think that some consequences of their evil intent should accrue to them? Israel will annex Judea and Samaria, and repatriate all those Jordanian citizens -- I prefer to think of them as terrorists -- to Jordan. Do you have a problem with that? Too bad. Most Israelis do not. Especially those who have lost members of their family -- loved ones -- to violence, terror and suicide bombings. Are you sure you're Jewish? You do not seem to have a good grasp upon what constitutes morality.
35. #28 Bertram
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (01.25.13)
You are the one that needs to do your homework. The ICJ has ruled that Jordan ILLEGALLY took citizenship away for the Arabs in Judea and Samaria and that they are citizens of Jordan. You invent international laws and rulings that don't exist or apply and now ignore REAL international rulings and laws. And since we signed a peace treaty with Jordan whereby they renounced all claim west of the Jordan River but left their citizens - yes we actually have the right to deport foreign colonists from our lands. That too is international law.
36. When Oslo became a four-letter word
Avi Joshua ,   Tel Aviv   (01.25.13)
Yes, indeed, the Oslo agreement was never viable and should have never be signes. Ophir Falk is right
37. # 30. You? Smart? Shtuyot
Keren IL-BR ,   Israel   (01.25.13)
Israeli, you?? No way. You are as Israeli as Eli Cohen was Syrian. And believe me, there is a bunch of stupid Jews to be true.. have you heard about Naturei Karta, dear? So... take it easy. My name is Keren, I am from Brazil, from Tijuca, to be more specific, and don't have any reason to omit my identity. Do you have any reason to pretend to be Israeli? Defintely you are not.. and I have serious doubts you are not getting money from the Palestinians to disseminate your demented ideals here, Fatima Sarah.
38. #8 Sarah B is right!
ZionistBill ,   Israel   (01.25.13)
If Europeans were able to push native-Americans off their lands, and Germans able to forcibly remove people from their fatherland, then Israelis should also have that right. I also think it goes without saying that it is antisemitic to object to us moving millions of so-called Palestinians from OUR land. Because only antisemites would object to Israel doing what every other European nation has done in the past. Like Sarah B said, we are smart people. A very smart people. And as a very smart people we know that the world (and hundreds of millions of Arabs/Muslims in the MidEast) will accept us moving all these people into Jordon. Sure they might complain (a little) but they know its for the best all around. Keep being smart Sarah B! You do us proud!
39. FALK: AREN'T YOU SAME GUY WHO JUST PREDICTED THAT...
Rafi ,   US   (01.25.13)
NETNAYAHU & LIKUD WOULD CAPTURE 45 SEATS IN THE LATEST ELECTIONS ? (see past week Ynet News) Now you have unashamedly moved to other subjects with your "analysis"? Exactly what is the basis for your so-called credibility?
40. 28
(01.25.13)
west bank arabs ARE JORDANIANS! when israel captured the west bank during jordan's aggressive war against israel in 1967, it captured it from jJORDAN and not from anyone else. after the capture, to make , the israelis suggested to give back the west bank to king hussein. he didn't want it back. so israel kept it. immediately, hussein REVOKED ALL THE ARAB JORDANIANS WEST BANKERS' JORDANIAN CITIZENSHIP AND ELFT THEM STATELESS! so, yes, these west bank arabs are JORDANIANS. hameed aboughaze, iranian
41. To Sarah B.: You go Girl!!!
Jake Stone   (01.25.13)
Don't pay any mind to those two clowns: Bertram and the fake Keren (not to convincing, ah?!)!
42. To No. 35
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.25.13)
If the ICJ ruled that Jordan illegally took away citizenship from the Arabs residing in the West Bank, then presumably the West Bank was part of Jordan which Israel now occupies.Or are you saying that prior to 1967 Jordan illegally occupied the West Bank which is part of Israel. But the state of Israel had not been established prior to Jordanian rule over the West Bank. What you appear to be saying is that the West Bank ought to have been part of Israel from its very inception, that the West Bank was empty of Arabs and that they only moved there once Jordan had annexed it. So, Israel claims what is rightfully theirs and deports the 'foreigners' to Jordan. The problem is if Jordan doesn't want them it really doesn't matter what the ICJ said or didn't say. Israel will be held responsible for ethnically cleansing a stateless population. 1930s Europe and 1990s former Yugoslavia are good teachers in this respect.
43. Oslo Accord
Graham ,   Calgary, Canada   (01.25.13)
Mr. Falk is right on the money with his assessment of the lingering effects of the Oslo Accord. I look forward to reading more of his articles.
44. to # 39 - Learn English, Math and Courtesy
Voter   (01.25.13)
To the best of my knowledge, the authore never predicted 45 manadares for likud. He predicted Netanyahu would be re-elected, which was a no brainer. But he was right. As for the credability, he has it, amongst other reasons, because many people like you and me read his writings and are interested in hearing his opinion. There are even avid followers like you that put the time into sending comments
45. To: No. 42
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.25.13)
West Bank Arabs are NOT stateless. They are Jordanian citizens. When they travel abroad, they do so on Jordanian passports. How many countries issue passports to non-citizens? Jordan will have to accept them -- its population is over 70% ersatz "Palestinian," anyway. Doesn't it strike you as odd that they should be ruled over by a half-Brit, half-Iraqi king and his Kuwaiti bride?
46. #44 Voter: responses...
Rafi ,   US   (01.26.13)
a) See Falk's idiotic prediction in YNet Opinion, 18 January http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4333716,00.html (OK - he predicted 40 seats for Likud) b) After YOUR error-laden post, you're telling me to learn English ?! c) this message took me less than 30 sec's to write! My schedule can handle THAT - LOL ! :>)
47. #39 Rafi - Learn to Read (and write) English
Voter   (01.26.13)
Dearest Rafi, Thank you for refering me to the writer's op-ed from last week. He made NO PREDICTION. Learn to read (and write) English. He said that external criticism against Netanyahu will help Netanyahu on election day. And it did. He didnt predict 40 mandates, he said if Likud gets 40 he should call to thank Obama. Likud did not get 40, therefore no need to call Obama. Netanyahu should however thank close to a million voters that voted for his party, making it the largest party in the next parlimant (unlike last elections). Clearly you were not one of those millionand your having a tough time comprehending the fact that Netanyahu will now be your PM for at least another 4 years. Try to be optimistic and hope for the best.
48. # 42 To Bertram
Keren IL-BR ,   Israel   (01.26.13)
It seems, Bertram, you are new in these talkbacks. Most of the comments, like those from Fatma-Sarah B. are just delusional. They create in their minds a reality and they truly believe in that. Of course Palestinians donĀ“t travel on Jordanian passaports, as Fatma-Sarah said, but she feels confortable in believing in that. Of course Jordan would never accept 2.5 million. Of course Palestinians would never move from where they are. They are just dying to become Israeli citizens and the next day go to the Supreme Court to demand more 5 million to return, as family reunification grounds. I have heard that rich Palestinian diaspora businesspeople are paying people like Fatma-Sarah B. to disseminate stupidities like these in Israeli media. Our duty as Zionists, Israeli Zionists, is to fight Fatmas-Sarahs.
49. #48 - Keren - a breath of fresh air and reason!
spyguy ,   seattle, usa   (01.26.13)
As I have been trying to point out for almost 10 years on Ynet and its competitors, Israel has ONLY two long term options: (1) two-states with a VIABLE Palestine, or (2) one-state with a large Jewish minority ruled by a Muslim majority. There are NO OTHER REAL WORLD OPTIONS based on how humans have behaved over the last 10000 years. The current situation is NOT sustainable. In fact the CIA thinks it will violently fall apart in less than 10 years (one of the reasons the US is pushing so hard for a peace agreement). Israelis are wasting precious time trying to keep their delusions alive, when they should be trying to reach a fair and reasonable agreement with the Arabs who have already conceded that Israel can exist, but not in the form it is now. The Arabs are NOT trying to drive the Jews from the unholy land, but to reach an agreement that is FAIR to all sides. Yes, Israel is going to have to give up lots of land, water, cash (for compensation) and apologies, but it will become a part of the neighborhood. Keren, I wish you good luck with finding a way to live in the ME.
50. To: No. 48
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.26.13)
Oh, shut your mouth -- stay your hand from the keyboard -- and get an education. Call me Fatma JUST ONCE MORE and I will find you and turn your life into an unending -- and very expensive -- litigation. Which I will, of course, win -- and bankrupt you in the process. Do you understand? By the way -- the ersatz "Palestinians" illegally residing in the West Bank WILL be repatriated to Jordan, country of their citizenship. What Jordan does with them is Jordan's business -- not Israel's. And yes, they travel on Jordanian passports. Get an education, little idiot. You're embarrassing yourself. But I don't expect that you have the intellect to recognize just how stupid you are. (That's actually how I know you are not Jewish.)
51. To No. 48
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.26.13)
I entirely agree. As it happens, I am not new to these talkbacks. I guess Sarah B and her ilk provide me with an opportunity to re-direct the narrative, though this, as you know is difficult! She should, of course, know that the Palestinian Authority issues passports which are recognized internationally and, as I have pointed out before, the possession of a passport issued by a particular country does not necessarily grant citizenship with rights of residence (e.g. some types of British passports).
52. To No. 45
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.26.13)
"Doesn't it strike you as odd that they should be ruled over by a half-Brit, half-Iraqi king and his Kuwaiti bride?" No more odd than Israel having been ruled over by PMs hailing from Russia, Poland, etc.
53. To No.50
Bertram ,   London, UK   (01.26.13)
When my children had temper tantrums I either laughed or ignored them. They soon ceased to have them, but you have turned them into an art form. I can imagine you kicking your legs, waving your arms, screaming and shouting. Good entertainment but not much else. If you are a lawyer, which you claim to be, your portrayal of your own ignorance of international jurisdictions is a pretty poor advertisement for the legal profession.
54. Best of intentions, but ...
Danny ,   London England   (01.27.13)
Jordan and Egypt genuinely wanted peace with Israel and got it. Arafat made demands he knew were impossible and he brought death and destruction. Rabin had the best of intentions , but paid with his life. Sharon tried, but became disabled. Olmerte tried but was forced out of office.
55. #25. Those who plot to shrink Israel's waist to 9 miles...
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.27.13)
#25. Not only do Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. Judea and Samaria are vital to Israel's existence. This is obvious to any child capable of reading a map. Those Jews who plot to shrink Israel's waist to 9 miles (15 minute tank ride) are lunatics and pose a grave danger to Israel.
56. Isn't it about time to re-name many of our streets/squares
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.27.13)
back to their original names instead of "Itzhak Rabin"... ? Just a thought...I've had it for a long time.
57. #47: BOTTOM LINE: BIBI LOST 10 SEATS & FALK HIS CREDIBILITY!
Rafi ,   US   (01.27.13)
58. To #56, how about we also renamed places/streets named after
(01.28.13)
Abe Lincoln back to their original ones? Just a thought...
59. Bottom Line: BB is PM the rest is details
Sarah N.   (01.28.13)
Those details include: 1) The Likud became the largest party in Parliment (unlike last time); 2) The zionist left has 21 mandates in total; 3) The Zionist right and center has at least 64 mandates (not including Zipi and Religious parties); 4) Netanyahu can form a very large and stable coalition; 5) Oslo is dead (as writer articulated) - time to concentrate on Iran and internal problems while striving for practicle politcal solution with viable partner
60. #59. Right. Except we need to pay "Palestinians" to leave.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.28.13)
Your analysis was mostly spot on. Except for your part about seeking a "viable peace partner" among "Palestinians". "Palestinians" are our mortal foes. If they could, they'd mass murder us all and steal our sole tiny Homeland. We need to pay "Palestinians" to leave. That is the only real solution. Moreover, most of them want to leave.
