31. 1&18 - Misreading or Dyslexia
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (01.27.13)
You are either misreading Obama and Kerry or are dyslexic. Both have indicated a desire for negotiations to resume. But both realize that there are obstacles. You or the Palestinians may thing status quo is perfectly peachy. Or you may not understand what the other wants. The US favors two sovereign states as a resolution, One being Israel, one being Palestine. Netanyahu does not hint yet at anything approaching sovereignty for Palestine. That may be an insurmountable obstacle. Read the article more slowly. What the UN rep Serry says has nothing to do with US policy. His name is even spelled differently from Kerry.
32. 2 state solution can't wait
Robert Cabitt ,   Boston, MA, USA   (01.27.13)
The rockets will continue to rain on Israel until they elect a prime minister who has the will and the courage to drive the Palestinians and Hamas out of Gaza and the West Bank. When George Bush gives back his Crawford,Texas ranch to the Native Americans is when peace will come to Israel. To the victor goes the spoils. Americans killed thousands of Indians during the conquest of the United States. The Indians that survived were placed in concentration camps euphemistically described as reservations where alcoholism and unemployment reigns. Since the Bureau of Indians Affairs has granted gambling casino licenses, some Indian tribes have prospered. Maybe gambling casinos are the solution for the Palestinians.

Yankee Doodle Dandy. ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (01.27.13)
You sit in America and make your living there, yet you spit your vile venom on America at the same time. You are truly a revolting person.
34. US: Two-state solution cannot wait
mat ,   uk   (01.27.13)

35. The post at No. 30 is not mine

36. To: Mr. Cabitt at No. 32
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.27.13)
You are very smart, sir.
37. Negotiations, by all means: Based on UN Security Council...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.27.13)
...Resolution, 242, 1967, direct and without ANY preconditions!! Can the US adhere to these terms, or does the White House, again, thinks the Jews should bow down and take existential risks for the sake of an outcome with which the US will not live or die, but the Jews of Israel will...??!!
38. The two-state contradiction
M Carr ,   Baltimore USA   (01.27.13)
[[Kerry insisted that President Barack Obama was determined to resolve the conflict and grant Israel the security it deserves and the Palestinians the independence they deserve.] The preceding passage contains the reasons why the two-state “solution” is no solution at all. As is evident by the failed Gaza experiment, increasing Arab independence in Israel reduces Jewish security. Conversely, Jewish security concerns require restrictions on Israeli Arab independence. At this point in history these facts are irrevocable. The two-state solution is a contradiction that has always been doomed to failure. This is not rocket science. The Obama administration needs to wise up.
39. a false sense of urgency for negotiatons
Shep Fargotstein ,   Memphis, TN - USA   (01.27.13)
The only sense of urgency can see is the fact that Israelis are tired of trying to make peace with those knucklehead Palestinians and are more inclined at this point to impose a solution. Personally I hope the Israelis do it ASAP.
40. To #32 And in the last flor of the cassinos
NATAN ,   ISRAEL   (01.27.13)
V.I.P rooms with alcohol and 72 virgens waiting
41. 2 state solution cannot wait -but Iran can?
David ,   Israel   (01.27.13)
Once again Israel is thrown under a bus. The Palestinians last chance should have been left with the Gaza disengagement. They received a massive amount of land for us to only receive as a thankyou rockets on us for 8 years. The doors should have been cemented shut.
42. #31 Netanyahu publicly accepted a Palestinian majority state
Sam ,   Canada   (01.27.13)
Palestinian supporters are all about trickery and deception. They will accept a sovereign Israel IF it is a Palestinian majority Israel. They will accept a 2 state solution IF BOTH states are Palestinian majority. Palestinian supporters may think they are very clever with their BS but Jews are on to their games and Palestinians will get nowhere with them. Palestinians will be rewarded with more building around them.
43. #41 in Israel we don't see it
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.27.13)
but it seems that Obama's foreign policy is collapsing. Algeria ignored him when they attacked the AQ militants. The Syrian jihadists are ignoring his advice. France started a war in Mali without even consulting him. Iran, Russia and North Korea are openly mocking him. Clinton struck a pathetic figure at the Benghazi hearing. Even Abbas, totally dependent on Obama, spit in his face. It seems that no one is impressed by Obama, and soon he will find himself preoccupied with fighting accusations for attacking the First Amendment and the Second Amendment while in the backrgound a Federal Judge found his NLRB appointments illegal. He is attacking Israel because so far, we seem to be the only ones who don't call his bluff and do what he says.
44. No to 2-state
Brod ,   USA   (01.27.13)
The 2-state is a myth. Its end result is not peace. It is a recipe for war and intensification of the conflicts. Why facilitate on this effort? Israel should say NO to these external manipulations of robbing Israel of its liberated Historic and Biblical Homeland.
45. The Secure Offer East J is PA capital etc
Martin ,   SA   (01.27.13)
The Secure Offer is East J is PA capital etc…… We are absolutely sure this ensures and provides a secure arrangements for Israel. Take it or leave it. We will support a resolution of the security council as we are sure you can agree. Next week we start negotiating the status of the port in Jaffa perhaps the PA need a port too. We need to supply them with arms to defend themselves from your aggression. Egypt we said gets 20 of the latest F15 jets and the PA need the same and they can the airport in LOD. We are sure you will feel very secure with this arrangement. Abbass and the league need to negotiate on the basis that they wont need to change their charter at all as we dont think it necessary and we sure you will agreee. Please don’t call me and I wont need to call you.
46. Two States Solution
Harold ,   USA   (01.27.13)
President Obama said, four years ago, that Palestine becomes a new member of the UN and he was rewared a Nobel Peace Prize for that statement. President Obama also said during his 2012 presidential campaign "Whatever I said I do I will do".
47. 42 - With NO Sovereignty
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (01.27.13)
He defines it as having no sovereignty. That is not statehood. Without sovereignty, normal sovereignty, there is no statehood. It is just a sham.
48. Waiting patiently
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.27.13)
I cannot help but wonder why Obama isn't waiting patiently for the PA and Abbas to hold elections to gain a mandate and legitimacy from the people they only claim to represent.Obama can wait until the cows come home for that. There's something nauseating about the way Obama runs down his democratic allies to appease terrorists, tyrants and dictators. The American people have re-elected themselves problems. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
49. Netanyahu put limits on Pal sovereignty to protect Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (01.27.13)
Come up with better ideas in negotiations for Israeli security. You ignore the question of Palestinians accepting a Jewish majority Israel for the long term. What's the point of discussing a Palestinian majority state if Palestinians reject a Jewish majority state. Palestinians saying they recognize Israel is just deception. They want to flood Israel with Palestinians.
50. To: No. 46
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.13)
Not if the United States Congress stops him, he won't. Then there's the not-so-little matter of the sovereign State of Israel. Do you really think that the Kenyan-in-Chief can impose his will upon Israel? Think again, fool.
