Take off your blindfolds, it is time to wake up.
32. Attack well carried out
Sarah B ,   U.S.A / Israel   (01.31.13)
The attack just goes to show th sheer might of the IAF. I'm looking forward to congratulating the pilots personally on my next official state visit to Israel and after I take my head out of myass.
33. Be real, real careful which hornets nest you poke

While the Syrian government may not be in a position to retaliate right now, it has some very powerful friends who could easily squash Israel and that the US is not going to pick a fight with. Russia has lots of surplus S-300 systems (they are deploying S-400 & S-500 replacements) and they could end up in Lebanon and Syria meaning any Israeli jets that fly out of Israeli airspace could end up in a zillion pieces. Be real careful when you create enemies.

What you are saying makes no sense to me. Russia (previously the Soviet Union) has been arming and training Israel's enemies since the fifties. Why is now any different? Israel won all of it's wars against enemies that were trained and armed by the Soviets. The Soviets gave these nations advanced SAMS back then and are already doing so now. Russia will not dare come face to face with Israel, we are not Georgia.
35. #33 - it is NOT the 1960s anymore

Basically most of the world has caught up with the US when it comes to warfare (in fact both the Iraqis and Afghans have easily defeated the US). Russian (and Iranian) weapons are now equal to anything Israel has or will ever have and both Russia and Iran have far more resources than Israel. Wars require resources (cannon fodder, material to get destroyed and wealth) Compared to many other nations, Israel lacks all three. You are living in the past and the present is a lot more dangerous for Israel. In fact it is far too dangerous for Israel to be picking fights. The US had to lose two wars to realize that it is not the "king of the hill" like it thought is was. In the case of the US all it will lose is its empire (just like the UK lost its empire when it squandered its wealth in war). When Israel, loses, what do you think will happen? Do NOT pick a war you can not afford to lose.

Of course you are assuming a priori that those S-400 and S-500 systems will ever be allowed to reach Lebanon and Syria. That might be foolish. I know you fancy yourself a "spyguy," but you're a pre-schooler in the field when it comes to Israel. I must ask you, though -- why are you rooting so hard for Israel to be stopped? Do you even realize exactly what is at stake, here? Do you even realize how unstable the Arab and Moslem states are? We are not worried about creating enemies. We have a very long and sad history of not having friends. The Jewish people have only one another and, for those living abroad, we have the State of Israel. No one else has ever cared about us. We're not worried about creating enemies, although it would be nice for the people we save to view us as friends. Trust me -- Israel will pull out all the stops necessary. Have you watched the events over the past few days? That's just the tip of the iceberg. Go down to your local Starbucks, have a nice grossly overpriced cup of coffee, and think about it. Israel has always followed Machiavelli's wisest of advice: "Hold your enemies close; hold your friends closer." Sad, but true. We have our country back. If you have any knowledge of history at all, you will know how the Jewish people have suffered over the past two millennia. Do you really think the State of Israel will ever let that happen again? Think again, dear.
38. 37 Sarah B Israel/US, excellent post

Be careful when WE create enemies? Do you not want to accept that THEY are and always have been OUR enemies by choice? What exactly would you tell us was the purpose of the weaponry on that convoy and the weapons factory? Were they not already destined for use against us? It is obvious from your post that you wish us ill, since not defending ourselves either preemptively or retaliatorily constitutes national suicide

Well, we shall see the truth of matter when the next rocket war kicks in. A single quick strike is one thing, putting the real time & work in quite another, fierce one.
41. #35 Spy Guy- I know very well what year it is
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (02.01.13)
Israel is not afraid of Iran or Russia, nor is Israel afraid of the US failing, (which it will not in our lifetimes at least). Israel fought most of it's wars when the US had an arms embargo against Israel and won each war regardless. We are also speaking of the nation of Israel that has faced and outlived many empires including ancient Egypt, Babylon, Hittites, Sumerians, Phoneticians, Philistines, Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Mamaluks, Crusaders, Ottomans, and the British. We will outlast our current enemies as well. We do not fear our enemies. We the Jews, and the Israel nation have faced more enemies than one can ever imagine and we come out victorious every time in the end. We are still standing, while all those empires I mentioned are now in the dust bins of history. You know little of who we are and how powerful we are. You think small and mark my words we will prevail over our enemies, we always do! Am Yisroel Chai!
42. Israel attack on Syria
RJD ,   NYC, NY   (02.02.13)
As I have said before, "As you teach so shall you learn." If you react as if you are persecuted, you are teaching persecution. This is not a lesson a Son of God should want to teach if he is to realize his own salvation. Rather, teach your own perfect immunity, which is the truth in you, and realize that it cannot assailed. 5 Do not try to protect it yourself, or you are believing that it is assailable. You are not asked to be crucified, which was part of my own teaching contribution. You are merely asked to follow my example in the face of much less extreme temptations to misperceive, and not to accept them as false justifications for anger. There can be no justification for the unjustifiable. Do not believe there is, and do not teach that there is. Remember always that what you believe you will teach.
