The West Bank is part of the Jewish biblical homeland and Jews will build there until there is a peace agreement. The Palestinians want the whole area Muslim controlled. That is why they don't make peace. To say that religion plays no role in the conflict as the secular prefer is laughable. There is no easy way out for the Palestinians. When are your finally going to refute the accusation that Israel contravenes the 1949 Geneva Convention ? Article 2 of the convention provides that the agreement applies "to all cases of partial or total occupation of the territory of a high contracting party". Thus, the convention cannot apply to the West Bank or East Jerusalem, they were never recognized as territories of Jordan or any other country, but as a residual part of the PALESTINE MANDATE, and therefore subject to the rights of the JEWISH PEOPLE, to make "close settlement" on the land. This is valid in International Law to this day, and reaffirmed by the UNITED NATIONS trough Article 80 of its Charter. Even UNSC Resolution 242, written by Prof. E. Rostow, is based on the Palestine Mandate. The French Judge Christine Chanet is at least ignorant and should review the legal aspects of this matter. But is is high time for the Israeli leadership to take action !!!

This latest U.N. decision has no more validity that it's equation of Zionism with racism. In addition to Bill's excellent comments Jordan relinquished their claim to the West Bank leaving Israel as the only sovereign nation with any claim. Since 1967 the standard of living of the Arabs in Judea and Samaria has risen far above what it was before and what it still is in most Arab countries. They have electricity in their homes running water and medical care just to name a few things that have changed. If there is segragation it is because the Arabs want the area to be free of Jews.
