1. it is good to hear reason
tom ,   toronto, canada   (02.01.13)
it makes a nice change to hear moslems speaking out against hatred and violence. but sadly, it is naive to think that the massive campaign of anti-semitism that has been orchestrated throughout the moslem world, will disappear with just a little education. it is the foundation of the power structures of nearly every arab and moslem country, including turkey, and it is unlikely to give up that power, or the convenient excuse of blaming the jews for every one of their own shortcomings. but one fewer "enemy" is always welcome.
2. Jews are friends of Muslims
Salahuddin ,   Chicago   (02.01.13)
Jews and Israel are the friends of Muslims. Remember Muslims, Khalid Bin Walid who was the most courageous and undefeated Muslim General in the time of the Prophet of Islam was a Sephardian Jew/Arab Jew who later became a Muslim. It is the Satanic Mullahs and communist leaders in the middle east who fool the masses. Like Saddam Hussein, Assad of Syria and a few more leaders. If Israel wanted it would have eliminated the Palestinians but it did not. The problem is when one side is attacking Israel and suicide bombing when Rabin was in power how can you have peace with your neighbor who lose 6 million of its Jewish people with the help of the communist Nazis. An are still interested in peace. But have been deceived so many times that it is hard for them to trust their partners. Please do justice and read the Quran and history with an open mind and heart. You will find Millions of good Jews trying to be your friends. Amen.
3. Seems they're doing fine "misinterpretation"& loving it!
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.01.13)
4. Real problem is the Koran really does teach hate of Jews
John ,   NZ   (02.01.13)
5. conditional acceptance
yaacovic   (02.01.13)
I appreciate Sinem's desire for peaceful relations amongst all peoples. I want that too. However it irks me that this acceptance of others is conditional on all people being God fearing and generally accepting Islamic doctrine. If in good conscience I rationally reject religion and religious doctrine am I to be cursed and despised?! I can understand being cursed if unprovoked, my actions deliberately harm you but kindly, not for existing and having a point of view.
6. U r so right!
frank sol ,   san diego, USA   (02.01.13)
You are so right, I also think that for this and other reasons, Islam is being skewed by some leaders, so this means that the goal of Mohamed(pbuh), it's being distorted by those same leaders, this make me sure that something must happen to put things straight, like the coming of Mahdi or Jesus.
7. Where are you?
paul malykont ,   los osos, usa   (02.01.13)
Where are all the screamers when a Muslim speaks of peace, brotherhood and understanding? Where are your congratulations to a man who evaluates individuals rather than groups?
8. We nned to hear more such people!
bob k ,   orlando usa   (02.01.13)
Ms. Tezyapar sounds like a moderate voice of Islam. How many more are like her? Certainly they exist but remain anonymous. We need hear more such voices especially among leaders cultural, political and religious. Its a start.
9. let the true Muslims speak up then
Barney ,   USA   (02.01.13)
but they are afraid lest they be murdered by their own people.
10. Food for thought.
Aharon ,   Holon, Israel   (02.01.13)
She's right, and we jews can and should take that to heart about our perceptions about ourselves (as a community) and also about muslims and christians. If everyone began to do this, the whole world would profit from it.
11. as i Turk
caglar ,   antalya Turkey   (02.01.13)
i never hate jews or israelis..just hate radical islam
12. Confused
Geoff ,   London (UK)   (02.01.13)
If "God does not inflict suffering on the innocent" how does the writer explain earthquakes, floods and so one?
13. Unfortunately, the words are not taken as you'd prefer
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.01.13)
However well-meaning, 13 centuries of Islamic writings suggest the words don't mean what Ms. Tezyapar takes them to mean. And she'll have a tough time convincing a "scholar" like Qaradawi, who almost daily spews Jew hatred, that he's misinterpreting the texts. But let me suggest an example of how her argument fails: She says, "The only ones who are "cursed are certain people who have done wrong against God." And who's to decide what's a "wrong against God" except those in power? The Muslim consensus is that Jews have "done wrong" by spurning "Allah and his Prophet". So this argument fails to convince. In a similar fashion, it's easy to say one is against targeting "the innocent" with "terror". But when "resistance" isn't considered terror and a child is declared "not innocent" because he's a settler or might one day serve in the IDF, the statement becomes meaningless. In a similar vein, Erdogan insists "Muslims don't engage in genocide" and thus excuses Sudan's Al-Bashir of the crime of genocide. Here's something that's beyond interpretation: According to Islamic sources, Jews in Mohammed's Arabia were despoiled, enslaved, killed or exiled. The only exceptions were those who "stood (for the right)" and became Muslims.
14. The Real Reason
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (02.01.13)
Rather than confront the failure of Islam in the Middle East and the Fascist Dictatorships that have sprung from antiquities, the Muslims do not care that they are misinterpreting the Koran. They only care about distracting those that are oppressed by Islam and they refocus their attention on a hatred of Jews. Can we make this any simpler?
15. Sinem - kol hakavod
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.01.13)
Would that many other Muslims would agree with you. For now, be careful. Those you speak of, who are getting it wrong, also don't want to listen, and may try to silence any voice that doesn't toe the line.
16. Is she for real?
Iranian H   (02.01.13)
She must be doing a love jihad and whitewash everything. Or she does really believe what she said. Good luck to her. She will need it. By the way, did Mohammad killed thousands of jews? or those are just bad jews?
17. Interesting, but ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.01.13)
... how do you propose to fix the secular Arabs and Christian Arabs who despise the State of Israel and the Jewish people? While the Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organizations capture most of the headlines because of their Qu'ran thumping, but let us not forget that there is no shortage of secular and Christian terrorist organizations who are committed to the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people.
18. The Quran
Dawkins ,   London   (02.01.13)
Like all other scriptures tend to have contradictory verses. One verse will show respect to Jews by calling them people of the book, and another verse says that Muslims should not be friends with jews or christians(because they are friends and protectors) of each other
19. She is interesting But.....
Iranian H   (02.01.13)
Speaking as a former shia muslim. She is either lying or she is talking as if she is learned. Mohammad is the better example when it comes to Islam than she was, is or will ever be. Mohammad killed many jews, and his history is very bloody. Does that turkish woman read quran in arabic? And about the contradiction verses. All religions have that, the purpose is to give room to have peace to non muslims. The maker of religions are quite smart that they know the scripture needs to be carefully thought out. Does she recognize her country is occupied Constantine? Does she recognize the armenian genocide?
20. Educate the books of jewish
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (02.01.13)
hungarian orientalists, like Germanus and Vámbéry, and eternal friendship will be between jews and muslims. Germanus Gyula is the honour president of Cairo's al Azhar Islam University.
21. Amen
Veronique ,   Israel   (02.01.13)
Amen, you have all my support. This is the dawn of a new age or understanding, respect, and peace. May God support you in opening the eyes of the blind.
22. Ask her about israel
moshe ,   Tel Aviv   (02.01.13)
Just ask her questions about Israel, Zionism, Relations with Paletinians. They look pro jewish but they are Anti israel. This group sees Israel as a terrorist state.
23. #18 The Quran per Prof R Dawkins
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (02.01.13)
Assuming you are The Man, you find it convenient to oversimplify as usual The Quran was re-edited many times as was Hadith often reinterpreted according to mood of rulers Effective influence from Wahabis and Yousef Kutb left their marks, Al Azhar Ulama' will soon be forced to reset the tone as they will see Egypt failing to feed itself and try to remove their self imposed curse. Would be good to meet you in London to discuss how far you have deluded yourself in the cause of self agrandissement after your selfish Gene
24. Educate Muslims on Koran
Pierre ,   Valleyfield, Qyebec,   (02.01.13)
Sorry if some people don't yet understand: Abraham had two sons, Abraham was a direct descendant of Sem, therefore semitic. One was Ismael, the other Isaac. Being anti-semitic is being against Abraham, therefore against the Almighty, since Abraham was declared His friend. That is the truth, and the prophets,
25. Look at their ideas about Israel
Jonathan ,   Tel Aviv   (02.01.13)
Search for "Harun Yahya" or "Adnan Oktar" and read what they think about Israel, Zionism, Zionist Jews, You will understand what they really think about Jews and Israel.
26. Every non-Muslim should read the Koran for themselves...!!!
Let's be honest   (02.01.13)
The true intention is very clear. Kill every Jew where you can find them.... Hatred, lies, smears against Jews and Israel. You don't have to have a Ph.D. to understand there is NOTHING peaceful about Islam.
27. jews also hate muslims..
marek ,   germanya   (02.01.13)
so..? x hates y, and y hates x.. not our business..
28. Tezyapar , Harun Yahya and the Turkish Islamic Union
Ahuva ,   Jerusalem   (02.01.13)
Another piece of propaganda white washing Islam . Just google Harun Yahya, Turkish Islamic Union and you know who is the man behind this article .
29. #2 THANK YOU !
Hertzel ,   Tveria   (02.01.13)
My father (a srpharadi Jew ) in Israel, has the deepest respect to his friends who are muslims (Israeli arabs) he has many friends among them and loves visiting with them. Islam has been kidnaped, misused and criminally abused by the Mullahs in Iran and the Arab/Muslim societies. Time to re educate muslims that the jews have not done any harm to them, and the jews are the first among nations to carry the words of G-D, therefore helping to bring about Christianity and Islam.
30. Words are powerful.
SD Charger ,   San Diego   (02.01.13)
Anyone who listens to one preaching ANY religion opens themselves up to what they are being taught. The words spoken by the preachers are powerful. It is up to each one of us to study and understand what they are trying to teach us, otherwise we will believe what they are saying and that could be anything! It doesn't matter which religion either. People have mis-interpreted scripture. bend it to fit their beliefs and numerous other ways to sway a persons mind. Study for yourself to see what is truth or not, don't allow someone else to tell you what is true or not. Finally, we should all look out for one another. If we truly did, this world would be a different place.
